Skoda Superb FX18AOE BUYER BEWARE!

Personally it wasn't a good experience buying a relatively new car (in my opinion) customer service was okay responded fairly quick and did what was asked. Just a poor buying experience bad luck in not sure. FX18AOE Skoda Superb buyer beware! Bought the car on the 4th January 2025. Car wasn't valeted or washed. Outside was dirty inside was leaves in the glove box. Carpet was ripped in drivers footwell. Bought these issues up with the salesman but he seemed unbothered that a car he's selling is in a poor state. Definitely not in a state for selling. "Oh really I don't know that's the sales team to sort out" 😐 should have walked away then. But I liked the car alot so thought what the heck. Didn't get offered anything for these issues to begin with. Central locking failed on the first day of purchase resulting in the front passenger door not being locked whatsoever. This was definitely how I bought it but it wasn't fixed. Whether they were aware or not I'm not sure. The dealership agreed to pay the bill as it was still within 30 days. I had to pay diagnosis fee. Which I didn't really understand but whatever paid it. Total for this was £667. Dealer paid for it all. Day 10 of purchase Gear box is now in emergency mode. Skipping odd gears and only driving in even gears. Clutch plate issue mentioned by AA. Again dealership agreed to pay for the repairs. At this point I asked the dealer to pay for the diagnosis (which would be number 2 now) and extend the back to base warranty to reassure myself having 2 major issues less than 10 days of ownership. I also mentioned how I'm in two minds about returning the car under the consumer rights act 2015. Had to take 2 days off for work for these issues as I had no car. Dealer didn't hesitate to ask for the car to be returned. Didn't seem like he wanted to keep a customer happy and agree to, which I consider were fair, proposals. Refund would be subject to inspection of the car, mileage and any damage. I really liked the car to be fair. Didn't want to do this. I wondered how I would take the car back as the gears were skipping. Dealership suggested transporter at my own cost. Which is in their terms, fair enough. Later agreed to let me drive the car back and I would not be held accountable for any further transmission damage. AA breakdown report also suggests a clutch plate on its way out. The symptoms I noticed upon test drive were said this is normal for a Diesel Auto compared to my old Manual Petrol. So another issue from get go but dealership either knew of it or didn't know. Who knows.... Overall it was a disheartening experience buying a car. Priced at 12.5k you would think you would be getting something worth your while. Instead I was faced with stress from the car and loss of pay as I missed work to resolve this issue. If the dealer agreed to my conditions of repair I would have kept the car. Make sure you read and check the service history properly especially with these DSG gear boxes. 40k they need servicing. Not 80k as recommended. To be completely fair I got the full refund. It was just the inconveniences stress that wasn't pleasant at all. The hunt for a car continues...
