Brought a astra grc from this man witch had just passed an mot and brake.test took home had it checked to.find back calliper seized needed new back.disks had the front checked to find the brake pad had broken away from.the metal and metal was cracked had to have work done our selves when the car was under a 3 month warranty have took pics of work.done and dates and will.be contacting trade and standards and the garage that mot it should have never passed and no.respone

All our cars are mot'd and serviced at a independant garage and not by ourselves. If the brake was binding excessively at the time of it mot it would have failed. The car actually passed its mot with no advisories. On a mot all brakes are checked by hand and on a roller brake tester. We asked this customer to return this car to us for inspection / repair but for some reason he did not return the car !!!! He never actually took it to a professional garage as it was "his mate" who is not a mechanic who advised him about the brakes !!! He then complained that while "his mate" was taking brake pad out the friction pad fell off the metal. This quite often does happen while taking brake pads out when the pad is pulled out or the caliper / off the brake disc as it is forced off. This does not mean it was not attached before hand.

Went to a view a car described as "stunning" which was anything but and not properly prepared for sale - the car looked like it had only been wiped over with a cloth (could still see the dirty swirl marks which came off easily with a light drag of the finger) and had some tyre shine applied. The car had one kerbed alloy, another alloy with a significant area of corrosion, knocking front suspension, extensive damage to front bumper requiring a respray and lots of other cosmetic damage that would have easily come out with a good machine polish. We asked to take the car for a test drive and the first response form the vendor was not to introduce himself but to ask whether we were happy with the price! This quickly escalated into not wanting us to take the car out to get it dirty for him to have to spend another two hours cleaning the car. I have never come across such appalling interpersonal and sales skills - refusing a test drive and then arguing with a customer within seconds of meeting and engaging with them!!! How can you trust and do business with a car salesman who behaves like this? Eventually went for a test drive where we noticed the knocking suspension, which the vendor tried to explain as being caused by the undulating road surface! It wasn't, it's more likely to be worn upper wishbones, a known problem with the model. The car was otherwise ok to drive, but the experience had been so soured by that time we walked away. I can only imagine what would happen if we'd bought the car and later found another problem with it - from our experience of looking to buy a car from this vendor I fully imagine the aftersales would be dreadful, based upon our experience of someone who argues about a test drive when trying to sell a car to save themselves an alleged two hours cleaning! Which leads me to easily believe the problems other buyers have reported here. If you're advertising cars for top money their appearance should at least reflect the price, this car was going to cost another £300+ to be up to the standard of the asking price yet the vendor couldn't be bothered to give it a proper polish, or be nice to customers, and clearly had no intention of paying for the work needed before selling it - we had to get a quote to spray the bumper! Without doubt the worst example of a car salesmanship we have experienced and worst (attempted) car buying experience!

We treat people as we are treated. !!!!!! Your own wife and stepson apologised for your little temper tantrum. The actaul quote is " we apologise for his attitude. He was a real a#r#h#le there and this car sale is nothing to do with him. He does this all the time". The stepson actually confided in me saying " im 23 years old and have had to put up with him for the last 20 years ". His mother ( this guys wife ) put her arm around her son and said " i know you have son ". The gentleman who wrote this review was actually asked to leave the premises by a member of staff due to his ill mouth and bad attitude!!!! Not to be arrogant but we do not want your business. As this gentlemam wrote in his untrue review we were correct in what we said. He clearly wasnt going to buy this "used car" as he was not happy with its condition so what is the point in driving it if you were never going to buy it. Thats another 2 hours work recleaning the car !!!!! Anyway 2 days after a lovely customer bought the car and was / and still is over the moon with this "used car". For the gentleman who wrote this review its clear your after a "brand new car" for only £6000. I would suggest you go the the alfa romeo main dealer and order a "perfect brand new car" , however the price will be £30000 not £6000 and will take over a year to be delivered but to the backlash of covid 19. We found a car we were after advertised by Avalon Autos on Autotrader. Contacted Grant who supplied all details of the vehicle. He wasn't in the least bit pushy, just provided the facts and suggested ways forward. We arranged a visit and although Avalon Autos was over 250 miles from where we live, the travelling was well worth it! The car (Audi TT) was just as described and very reasonably priced. Grant was a pleasure to do business with and the deal was concluded. Bottom line; both myself and my wife were very impressed and extremely pleased with the outcome.

PURCHASED A VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT 1.9 TDI ON A 2005. GRANT MARSDEN KEPT HURRYING US ALONG AS HE HAD TO SUPPOSEDLEY PICK HIS KIDS UP.TOLD ME THAT THE KNOCKING NOISE WAS THE ENGINE COVER.CAR WAS WARM AND LOADED UP WITH OIL.....SOON AS WE PAID HIM.....HE PUT THE SHUTTER DOWN AND OFF HE WENT.AFTER THIRTY MILES ON THE MOTORWAY...THE OIL LIGHT CAME ON.RECOVERED IT HOME TO FIND THE OIL PUMP HAS GONE.SPOKE TO MR MARSDEN WHO ADVISED SOLD AS SEEN AND ITS YOUR OWN FAULT.HE THOUGHT HE HUNG UP......I OVERHEARD HIM AND HIS RACIST COMMENTS.SHAME ON YOU MARSDEN AND YOUR FRIENDS WHO LEAVE THESE REVIEWS FOR YOU. I HOPE YOU GET CAUGHT OUT AT SOME POINT AND SOMEONE GIVES YOU WHAT YOU DESERVE

Im in shock !!!! I have know knowledge of this situation / car / breakdown and most definatly any conversation. Some cheap cars we have taken in on part exchange are sold as spares or repairs due to there cheap price / age / high mileage. This is fully explained in the advert and to any customer before purchase and is documented on the invoice. It is not possible to sell a car under £1000 to full retail trading standards ruling.. As far as being racist my experience in this sector of work is that racist people make racist claims as a last resort when they dont get what they claim is wrong !!!!

Grant was honest from the start, he advised that all his cars were priced correctly and there were no discounts, he let us look at the car we were interested in , left us alone for as long as we wanted. He answered any questions we had , on the part Ex deal he offered us nearly £900 more than an large well known car supermarket type place. Grant even offered to pay for the hand book that was missing, ( but it’s online and I can print it ) .The car we bought was very competitively priced and a lot lower than a dealership. Overall a nice guy who we would go back too if we needed a car in the future.

Bought a car from this dealer today. He's very professional but not your typical salesman very relaxed happy to let you browse at your own lesuire without hounding you. Didn't feel like i was being conned, went out of his way to make sure the car was mechanically sound. Would i recommend? 100% yes. Would i buy another car from this dealer? Definitely!

Grant went through all aspects of the sale methodically and precise. The retention process of my own private number plate and all on-line matters were dealt with and explained clearly. It was particularly refreshing to deal with a down to earth dealer, who being an ex mechanic , knew his stuff regarding the working of a car. The car itself was exactly as described and completely ready to go. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Avalon Autos Chesterfield and will contact them again in the future should I wish to change my car. Thanks Grant and good luck for the future.

I buy 3-4 cars each year, mainly for friends, and travel around the country to collect them. Just bought a 2015 Renault Twingo from Grant, having travelled 200 miles to see it. The car was unbelievably well presented, and is excellent. I found Grant easy to talk with, very straight, and helpful. He may be working out of an industrial estate lot, but from my experience he was better than most main dealers I have bought from. I would definitely consider his cars in the future. We called Grant about the car we was interested in, Grant was flexible in when we could come and view the car, At the viewing Grant was not pushy and let us look at our own pace. The car was exactly like the advert - in excellent condition and gave us a fair price for our trade in. The whole process from viewing to driving away was excellent.
