More hassle than enough

Most often transactions tend to go smoothly but it's when things go wrong that you can really judge a car dealer. My experience of buying their VW Golf Estate was not so good as the engine light came on six days into ownership, I believe that someone at Car&Caravan new the car had an issue with the engine as the engine light came on three times and three visits to the garage to try and sort the issue which still failed to correct the fault. C&C's preferred garage is a round trip of 22 miles from my home so this car was costing me money ferrying it back and forth. On the third visit to the garage it spent five days with them but still the problem wasn't solved. The biggest issue I had was the fact that C&C should have taken the car back after the first issue but NO, I had to arrange the appointments with the garage and ferry the car backwards and forwards whereas C&C should have done the running around. The car was returned for a full refund, they get a poor score for this and that they didn't offer another car in it's place. As I part exchanged my old car this left me without a car AND out of pocket.
