BEWARE! The 6 month warranty is not worth the paper it’s printed on. This was my first and last time buying from a used car dealer. After always buying new or private I decided to purchase a vehicle from CHROME MOTORS formerly LANCASHIRE VEHICLE SALES. Owned by Daniel Robert Towns and Natalie Angela Towns. I purchased a 7 year old Mercedes Benz which was in ok condition but needed a bit of TLC in certain areas to bring it back up to a good standard. After a test drive I decided to go ahead with the purchase as the car drove very well and I believed it’s imperfections were only cosmetic. 14 days in to owning the vehicle the list of problems was growing and it had now become major. From the steering rack knocking on full lock to the ECO mode not working now the clutch and dual mass flywheel had failed. Cost to repair in excess of £1250, no problem I believed I had 6 months warranty so would at least get some of this covered. This was not the case. After speaking to the clutch specialist at the repair garage they informed me the warranty would not cover this work and reminded me of the Consumer Rights Act which basically meant I was covered for the first 30 days of ownership and that I can return the vehicle to CHROME MOTORS for a full refund or they can repair the vehicle. I made the phone call to Daniel to see what we could do regarding this issue with the warranty. To say he was unhappy that the garage had reminded me of my Consumers Rights was an understatement. Daniel seemed to believe that this act did not apply to him and then like before I had purchased the car began to talk the talk and promise the world. “ I will sort this for you, leave it with me”. That was another lie he never replied to any of my attempts to contact him from then on. NEVER AGAIN!
Chrome Motors Macclesfield somehow managed to sell a car that I had reserved, when Danny realised his mistake he ignored all communication and could only get hold of him after calling on a different number. Likely a bullet dodged. If his pre-sales service is like this then I can only imagine how dreadful the after sales is.
I can honestly say Chrome motors in Macclesfield are the best, nothing is too much trouble for the owners Danny and Natalie, there customer service is second to none, they handled every aspect of my car buying experience overalls very professional company and a pleasure to do business with.
Awful experience dealing with Chrome Motors. Left a deposit in good faith on a silver JEEP Grand Cherokee Overland. There is a serious problem with the transmission on this vehicle. No chance of seeing a return of our deposit despite the serious fault.
Danny the owner of Chrome Motors Macclesfield is as charming as they get whilst selling you a car, and promises the earth. BUT once you’ve bought the car and have any issues he gets abusive and ignores communication. Nasty piece of work. I’ve now rejected the car under the 30 day regulations as unfit for purpose but he refuses to communicate. Probably hoping it will go away !! I don’t think so, I’m taking him to small claims to get my money back. Buyers beware he’s not honest. And as for trading standards approved logo is just a paid membership that has no connection with the real local authority trading standards. If you find anything wrong with car he uses the old chestnut “sold as seen “. Why has he gone from a large flashy showroom to an appointment only car lot? No repeat business or recommendations no doubt. My advice just stay away from this dealer

Nice as pie given a cup of tea at the beginning. Once you have handed over the money Chrome Motors in Macclesfield do not want to know you. Still waiting for promised service history.,also no paper work for any sort of guarantee. Have reported them to Trading Standards and awaiting the outcome.

Can someone advise of the Facebook group for issues with this dealer
When buying a car from Chrome Motors have it checked out thoroughly before the deal is done .Our recent purchase was serviced and new MOT’d but still presented with faults which should have been picked up by the Crome and the above mentioned. Aftersales conversation with raising the faults hard to get answers in fact ignored most of our emails .Still waiting for answer to our latest complaint 17 days later.

I would like to thank you and all the other people who have posted reviews on this site. I had intended to go and purchase a car from them this weekend however having read so many negative reports I'll give them a BIG miss. Hope you managed to get your car sorted out. 👍 likewise
Bought a Peugeot 207 2008. That seemed to be in good condition that they put through an mot at their garage. 6 months down the line it broke down the head gasket was shot. A mechanic told me this was definitely identifiable when I bought the car, when I rang them they simply said ' what do you want us do about it' terrible.
I bought a 2008 Peugeot in April 2016 from Chrome motors in Macclesfield. They sold me the warranty for £500, told me it covered everything other than wear and tear. Had to take my car to Peugeot in August, for a part in the engine. The warranty wouldn't cover the full cost. Went to chrome and told them, they said there was nothing they could do! My car is back in the Peugeot garage today! With several problems that are going to cost me a fortune of the so call warranty doesn't cover! I would NEVER buy a car from chrome motors again!
