Bit of a long one so bare with me... Went to view a car on 26/12/17 after emailing a few days before regarding a particular car. Everything confirmed and was looking forward to it. Drove 60miles with my mechanic, was lead to the car to view and left alone. Zero oil and Zero coolant - shocked!, Car was also dirty and not presented well. Told a guy hanging around about the oil and coolant and got no real response but he went and got a jug of water and oil and gave it to US to fill up!! Yes he gave the customer water and oil to fill up a car the company he works for is selling. Ok, so once WE filled the car up we got it started once the keys were brought to us and left alone again to inspect further, we found the rear brake pads and disks needed replacing and there was a worrying sound coming from the clutch. Not sure if it was the owner but we voiced our concerns and honestly got a load of lies back about the car being serviced 4 months ago by previous owner and been sat at the showroom for 2 months, absolutely no way is that the truth with no oil or water in the car. Told him i would want about £400 off to cover the costs of the service, brakes and disks and possible clutch issue or diagnostic and got a swift "Nope, most i can do is £100" followed by "no point taking it for a test drive as i can't take off anymore than £100". What surprised me most was no business sense to go and sit us down to discuss and come to an arrangement we both would have both been happy with or explain why he felt it was worth the asking price at the condition it was. Another thing to mention is i originally enquired about a BMW 5 series before emailing back saying i was now interested in the Mazda and got an email back saying its still for sale and it's ready to go after asking if i can drive away the day of viewing all being well, The BMW had clearly been cleaned and smelt nice inside and most probably topped up of fluids but because communication was poor between staff they thought i was still coming to look at the BMW so they were caught them off guard as it wasn't 'prepped' for sale. Also to finish up there was apparently a buyer for the Mazda who paid a deposit but if i paid and took it away today it was mine.. This part made me lose trust in these guys and we had to walk away. The guy got schooled in basic mechanics by my mechanic and truth be told he should have paid us for the education. Surrey Hill Motors were lazy, not trustworthy at all. Very disappointing service and walked away shaking my head.

I can't understand why the police, trading standards have not closed Surrey Hills Motors down, why does RAC and Autotrader allow them to advertise on their sites, surely no good for them. The only good review they have is from a "guy" going by the name of Steve Rust, that say's it all clearly from the owner who have no accountability for service.

Just seen some reviews on this company , was looking to trade in with them , did you have issues
Thought I would look at reviews of this garage after dealings with them a couple of years ago, I bought a vehicle that I was aware was a CAT C repair and no issue as the car had been through the necessary checks etc. Discovered once I had the vehicle home that it had a expensive engine fault, I was apparently covered under a warranty provided by Surrey Hills which I look at now and I think the paper was worth more then the Warranty. I spoke to the Garage and rude and didn't want to know. I had a relative speak to the dealer who was a car dealer and he couldn't understand the response either. Very much once they have your money they couldn't care less. I would avoid buying a car from here.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Absolutely shocking service. The vehicle I purchased lasted 2 weeks before the engine exploded causing a fire in the engine bay. Refused to speak to me hanging up the phone when ever I called them. When I went to see him they were violent towards me throwing me out of the showroom. Please do not use this company.
I purchased a vehicle from Surrey Hills Motors (which I suspect has reinvented itself as Surrey Hills Cars). As part of the purchase, a check engine light fault was to be rectified. On pick up day the dealer owner advised that the fault was fixed and the vehicle good to go. The paper work was to be provided to show this, which of course never turned up. Turns out the repair they enacted was nothing more than dimming the brightness of the check engine warning light. The underlying fault was never rectified which resulted in the vehicle catching fire, endangering my family and causing significant damage (repair costs 5,000 pounds). Currently seeking options for civil action against the directors personally, in the interim I have no hesitation in NOT recommending this dealer to anyone under any circumstances. Their actions are dangerous and untrustworthy
The dealer has changed names from from Surrey Hills Motors to Surrey Hills Cars and they most probably will do the same again as they avoid paying debts or legal challenges I suspect. They never disclosed the car I was interested in had been damaged repaired. I caught them out lying on several matters so I left. Please be very guarded dealing with this car dealer and check all information they tell you.
DO NOT USE THIS DEALER. Even if you have paid your deposit already just walk away, that is my advice. I purchased a Volkswagen Golf in August. I was given a 3 month warranty, which allegedly covers parts and labour according to the website. Great I thought. I drove the car home (13 miles) and the next day after about 20 minutes the emission warning light came on. The manual says take the car straight to the garage for diagnostics test. Surrey Hills Cars did not want to know. After calling 4 times they still did not want to deal with this. Even when I stated to them that if they would not carry out their legal obligation I would have to take this to the next level, they just hung up on me. I was left with no choice but to pay the £40 diagnostic testing and £300 for a new 02 sensor myself. These people are not fair to their customers. I will be looking to see if I can contact Auto Trader so it does not direct any more unsuspecting buyers here.

Surrey Hills Motors are a very bad car dealership, the car was sold to me with oil just above empty. I have had to have the tracking done after two days, very unhelpful manager when I contacted them about the faults, CD left in the drive and a pair of girls underwear found under the seat. I didn't check the car as thoroughly as I would from a private seller, due to the fact they are a "reputable" dealer. The car is the worst I have owned so far and definitely a big let down, the manager seems to have a bad attitude based on how I was treated and has a big range of cars with very poor care taken of them.
I bought a car which was supposedly meant to have been in good working order, first day gearbox when after driving 60 miles since then had to pay out nearly £2000 to get the car drive-able. I would say to people thinking about buying from Surrey Hill Motors not to use this dealer and do not use Zuto as they want you to take your car to Halfords Auto Centres.
