Flog it to you, then not interested.
I recently bought a car from MFI motor group, about three weeks ago actually and part exchanged my old car for it, next morning the car had ABS and TPMS lights on the dashboard, so I took it to Halfords auto center who diagnosed it and had to replace a faulty ABS wheel sensor, a day after that the clutch pedal started sticking on the way back up after pushing it down to change gears, this carried on for days so I took the car to a local independent garage and they diagnosed the problem as the slave cylinder, which is inside of the gearbox on this car, This cost £455! As the gearbox had to come out.
I contacted MFI to tell them about the problems as the car comes with a Three-month warranty which covers engine and gearbox! “They have told me the cylinder part is not covered by the warranty”, even though it is part of the gearbox and clutch assembly.
I have also since had to replace the two front tyres as they were worn on the inside edges resulting in a very annoying and distracting droning sound above 45 mph, when I test drove the car before buying I asked if there were any main roads with speeds of 50mph or more, but was directed onto roads with speed limits between 20 and 40mph, if I had, had the chance to get the car at higher speeds I would have noticed the noise, instead I only noticed it when actually getting onto the A3 for my 130 mile trip back home after buying it.
Also regarding my old car that I traded in, I was expecting a Tax return as it still had 5 months remaining on it, so I kept checking on the DVLA website to see if and when it would show as untaxed, nothing happened for weeks so I contacted MFI motor group, they said they had sent of the paperwork and can take up to 2 weeks for DVLA to change it, I contacted DVLA three weeks after parting with the car and they said they had not received anything, and suggested contacting the buyer, ie MFI motor group to confirm, so I contacted MFI motor group again, and this time they said they would do it immediately “digitally” on the internet, about an hour later I re-checked the DVLA website and sure enough it showed as un-taxed, 6 days later I finally get my cheque from the DVLA, but is a month short, so I contacted DVLA once again and they said they have not included the missing month because they only pay from the time they are notified, so I have lost a month’s Tax while MFI have it sat on their floor court for sale, not only that but while it was still taxed it meant I was liable for any parking or speeding fines!
Overall, I am extremely dissatisfied with MFI motor group, they don’t want to know about the problems or offer any solution or reimbursement to help cover this huge outlay of money, having owned the car for three weeks I am now down by £710! This is made up of: £455 for slave cylinder replacement, £192 two new tyres and tracking done as it was out, £48 ABS wheel sensor, and £15 short for car tax refund, I dread to think what next with this car! I bought this car after saving up for the last 5 years! And now I am in dept because of the repair bills!
Personally, I would steer well clear of MFI motor group! Having now read other reviews I can see why, they just “flip” cars and have zero customer service, they just want to wash their hands of any problems and brush under the carpet.
