You are indeed correct that you were informed a hand over with a part exchange is not something we can generally cater to without prior arrangement however you were offered alternative ways around the predicament you found yourself in as you had travelled a great distance. An agreement was reached with a view of checking your vehicle in the following day to ensure it was of the quality you had described to us, this is unfortunately where the complications began. Following the check in of your vehicle you were informed the vehicle failed to meet our retail standard, following this news you requested A1 Ortos to 'make a bid' at your vehicle. Due to the plethora of faults and problems present on the vehicle this inevitably took some time which caused a delay in the conclusion of our dealings through no fault of A1 Ortos. These faults with your part exchange vehicle are clearly no surprise to you as you have left VW Cardiff negative feedback at a date which coincides with your invoice left with the vehicle you have part exchanged. If you had been open and honest with regards to the standard of vehicle you was looking to part exchange this whole unfortunate circumstance could have very easily been avoided and it is somewhat frustrating that you feel the need to leave your feedback bearing in mind your full knowledge of the circumstances. The car you purchased from A1 Ortos in contrast was a grade 1 vehicle with a clean bill of health, your outrageous claims regarding our vehicle are a callous attempt to slander A1 Ortos yet again. A1 pre-arranged arranged for me to travel from 4 hours away to conduct a part exchange on a Sunday. When arriving they said they don't do part ex on a Sunday. A1 said therefor the only way to proceed was to take out finance and they would pay me the next day and I can cancell the finance during the 2 week cancellation period. I was tricked into taking out this finance against my will with the garage knowing the only alternative would be for me travel all the way home then another 12 hour day the next day. It's been 3 weeks, 18 calls (in which they always say they will call back and never do) I had to pay off the finance myself as they hadn't stuck to their agreement and left me hanging past the 2 week cancellation period. On top of that, the car I bought recieved warning lights immediately, and it turns out the entire front bumper and splitter weren't even connected to the car in any way whatsoever. Just an overall poor experience where they clearly dont care once they have some money off you. This seems to be a common occurrence based on other recent reviews Edit in response to below response: My poor review were not about the state of the part exchange car which I did not have a problem accepting it had problems. Hence accepting a v low price - no problem. They were about the contempt at which your company treats customers. 18 unreturned calls in 3 weeks, and still nothing weeks after agreeing to the low figure after inspection. Being sold a car in a dangerous condition (unarguable proof available) and generally being messed about. Judging by reviews this is a recurring pattern of behavior. Perhaps a change of approach and treat these reviews as lessons learned and improve rather than damage limitation and avoiding any responsibility.
