Dangerous fuel leak

I bought a Fiat 500 from Paul @ Mex Cars last Sunday (8/2/26). I noticed a smell of fuel when driving the car home. I assumed it was a usual car dealership smell but it didn't go away so I decided to take it to my local MOT shop. The garage identified that a previous repair on a fuel tank seal had not been done properly and also a number of other items that needed attention eg suspension arm bushes near failure, engine rocker cover needing fixing (which Paul said he would do previously), tyre cracking so tyre needing replacing etc. I took the car back to Paul on 14/2/26 after less than a week (and within the 3 month dealership warranty) and Paul has said he will fix the list of issues identified. It is within his right to fix the problems or give me my money back. Clearly driving a car with a fuel leak and the potential explosion risk is quite alarming and Paul said he wasn't aware of the previous botched fix. Paul has said he will get these items fixed and get the car back to me quickly. I note the majority of poor experiences @ Mex Cars on this review site (which is not unusual for review sites) and I will post again after I get to the end of this story with Paul. It will either confirm some of the reviews to avoid Mex Cars or that it is only the bad experiences that get posted and it was a good end result. Time will tell.
