I would not recommend Phantom

I would not recommend Phantom Motor Company based on my personal experience. I purchased a vehicle from them in April 2023. Before agreeing to buy the car, I specifically raised that the rear parking sensors were not working and I was told this would be rectified. Unfortunately, despite following this up several times, the issue was not properly resolved and I was eventually told to take the vehicle to Mercedes. I also felt pressured during the sales process to pay a £250 deposit before I had properly viewed the vehicle, which I did not feel was necessary. After purchasing the car, I experienced further issues. The AdBlue had not been properly topped up, despite being told the vehicle had been serviced. Front window tints had also been fitted before sale, which I later found were not compliant. I had to remove them and pay a £150 fine. The most serious issue has been with the wheels fitted to the vehicle. I have since been advised by Mercedes that the car had non-genuine 20-inch wheels fitted rather than the original specification. I have spent over £600 repairing cracked alloys and have now been advised that all four wheels need replacing, with related suspension concerns also identified. In my view, if a vehicle is being sold with upgraded, aftermarket, or non-standard wheels, this should be made clear before purchase. I would strongly advise prospective customers to ask whether the wheels and other parts are original manufacturer parts or aftermarket replacements, and to get this confirmed in writing before agreeing to buy. When I raised these issues with Phantom, I did not feel the response was helpful or that there was a meaningful attempt to resolve the matter. Based on my experience, I would advise prospective customers to inspect any vehicle carefully, ask clear questions about any modifications or non-original parts, and obtain written confirmation before purchasing.
