Awful experience

We had a deeply disappointing experience with this dealership and strongly advise caution based on our customer journey. We paid a deposit on a Tuesday to secure a vehicle and submitted our initial finance paperwork. By Friday, the team confirmed to us in writing via message that the car was safely reserved and held for us while the remaining documents were being completed. Completely trusting this assurance, we submitted the final signed paperwork first thing on Monday morning, and the team messaged us back to say they were organising a collection time. However, later that afternoon, they suddenly contacted us to claim the vehicle was unavailable due to an unexpected warning light fault. We subsequently looked up the vehicle’s official public registration data on the government website. The public records showed that the vehicle's tax had already been fully renewed by a third party over the weekend, and a new logbook change of keeper was actively being processed. It appears to us that our reserved vehicle was simply sold to another customer over our heads, and a mechanical excuse was used afterward to handle our booking. When we raised this directly with management, they refused to accept any wrongdoing. They reviewed our timeline and flatly told us the transaction was simply in line with their standard business practices. We are incredibly shocked by this standard of business and the complete lack of care shown to customers who have placed deposits in good faith. We have been left out of pocket and are escalating this through all the appropriate regulatory and financial channels. Absolute breach of trust.
