DO NOT BUY A VEHICLE FROM THIS DEALERSHI
purchased a £27,000 MK8 GTI from Hitchfields after being told the vehicle came with a 1-year warranty and 3-year service plan. A few months later, dashboard issues appeared and, after contacting VW, I was informed there was actually no active warranty or service plan attached to the car. I was then left facing a bill of over £2,000. When I contacted Hitchfields, they were completely dismissive. I was told the previous owner had cancelled the warranty and that it was “not their issue” — despite the fact this information was clearly used as part of the sale and influenced my decision to purchase the vehicle. Since then, I’ve spent months going back and forth over emails with little to no communication and no real attempt to resolve the situation. The only “solution” offered was for them to buy the car back at a reduced value or for me to drive the car up 3 hours for there mechanic to look at it. buying it back meant w charging me for mileage, which would leave me another £1,000–£2,000 out
