Bought a VW Passat off Arnold Clark Motherwell Motorstore on the 23rd June, was dealing with Jim, i got it on HP which was sorted through Arnold Clark and Barclays, the engine management light was on, so I agreed to the sale of the car on the provision that the cause of the EML being on was solved, picked the car up a few days later and took it for a quick test drive only for the EML to come back on and the tyre pressure light came on as well, however I was left with no choice at the time but to take the car with me as i had no other vehicle to get me home but was told to bring it back in and they would sort it out, brought it back in a couple of days later and wasn't even provided with a courtesy car to keep me on the road so I had to get home at my own expense with taxis and trains. got the car back about 5 days later, EML was off, driving the car home and en route the EML comes back on again! yet again i was told to bring the car in again to fix it once and for all, the car was in for a week this time, i managed to get a courtesy car this time although it must be said it wasn't offered to me up front i had to put my foot down to ensure i got one, the courtesy car given to me had damage to the wheel arch on the back of the vehicle on the driver side, when i brought it back in to collect my car, Jim accused me of causing the damage to the courtesy car even though he himself had drove the car to my house but claimed to not see the damage on it. i got the Passat back home fine, en route to work the next morning the EML comes on AGAIN! called up and told Jim that i didn't want the car no more as it is proving to be a disaster. in the mean time i had found another Passat which i really liked from their Stirling store so they got it transferred over to the Motherwell branch, i was to keep the first Passat for commuting in the mean time until the finance was sorted for the new car, with me having the first car on HP i was looking to get the 2nd one on PCP due it being a bit more expensive. i decided to source my own finance this time through car finance 247, got myself a great deal and had everything sorted on my side i just needed Arnold Clark to keep to their side of the deal however they started adding on mystery figures onto the final price this despite the fact me and Jim had agreed the final price, so i was told by him that he would call me the next morning first thing after he had spoke with his manager, he didn't bother himself, i had to ring up twice the next day before i got a callback midway through the afternoon only for him to tell me his manager wanted to cancel deal and that i was to leave the other car back into them asap for me to get my deposit back, what an absolute joke this company is, rest assured i will NEVER have any dealings with Arnold Clark ever again and will be telling everyone i can to avoid using them at all costs, bunch of crooks. terrible customer service, terrible attitude, terrible company top to bottom, Arnold Clark himself will be turning in his grave if he seen how his employees treat their customers, disgraceful.
