Can't be trusted to service your car

My elderly father has been a loyal customer, buying brand new cars from this dealership for 22 years and has always had them serviced there, prepared to pay over inflated prices all dealerships charge, because he believes a main dealer will do the best job, They clearly see him coming as a trusting (or perhaps stupid) old man as over the years they have advised work that he has trusted needed doing, despite the low mileage of each car. However, following a major service in June this year which set him back over £700, he was assured the plugs were replaced along with everything else you would expect from a major service. He since sold the car in August and the new owner (who is well known to my father) had the car checked over at an independent garage who informed him the plugs were definitely not new and had clearly done thousands of miles. My Father is clearly upset and angry that this dealership has taken money from him unnecessarily and it would appear lied to him about the work undertaken. It is unfortunate that he is unable to prove this as it would be the word of the independent garage over the dealer. On behalf of my father I would not recommend this dealer or trust that they will undertake the work required.
