In contradiction to all the other reviewers I have purchased a car this week from this dealership. The sales man Grant and in fact all the others (I spoke with most) were friendly, helpful, no hard sale. I was shown to the car of my choice, allowed to take a test drive and all my questions were answered. I had been recommended to this dealership my two others who have also purchased cars from this dealer and were happy with the service. I gave a list of my requirements to the representative at Allen Kia in Solihull which particularly specifying a mileage of another car to be less than 5000 miles, and a diesel car. The representative looked at my car and advised what they would give for a trade in. I told him I considered it to be unreasonable. 7 days later, the representative 'phoned me with a car having a mileage of 7000 miles and was petrol. There was no point in continuing the conversation as he hand't taken any notice of what I had been looking for. I finished going to buy a Ford
We have been customers to this dealership for nearly six years having bought a C’eed SW new and then a nearly new 4-Tech C’eed SW. All going well until this year, unfortunately we have had the 4-Tech recovered three times this year for a breaking issue. A random issue that locks the breaks on – can happen anytime, thankfully when parked!! On the last occasion before yesterday, a part was replaced and we noticed an improvement in breaking. Until last night – same issue, breaks locked and then released with added warning features on the display – which I captured on my phone. The long and the short of it today was a very poor response from the Service Department – stating with we only have one technician on, can’s book in until next week & don’t have a replacement car until October. Followed by ‘you drive it at your own risk’ and ‘you could have had the same problem with a JLR car’ … fine I will buy one next time! To cap it all this month (Sept) I was sent numerous invites to a VIP event – the Golden Tick was for March 2017, the offer letter had some classic spelling mistakes and they offered a ‘£1,5000’ off my deposit. You would chuckle if you had not spent four days off-work this year and three trips in the back of an RAC van for a 2013 top-of-the-range car. The Quality of Sales and Service at Allen KIA Solihull has plummeted in 2017 – avoid them!
Do i have to leave 1 star out of 5? Actually fab sales service all round (but of course they want your custom). Be very aware of after sales service, especially if there is a problem with your car, because they just don't want to know. The after sales/ service manager, Robyn Christie, is not remotely interested in anything you have to say and is exceptionally bad at her job, rude/ ignorant springs to mind. The kia '7 year warranty' is really not worth the paper it's printed on since Robyn (and kia) will try to wing their way out of it. All in all a very bad dealership. If you live in the West Midlands try Startin of Redditch, a friendly bunch, where nothing is too much trouble, even when you have a problem. ALLEN KIA IS A DEALER TO BE AVOIDED.
