Brooklands Dorset sold me a dodgy truck don't trust them I have had problem after problem barney is a rougue dealer

I bought a 5 year old Range Rover Sport and took the Extended Warranty offered with the purchase only to be told when and inlet manifold needed replacing under the terms of the agreement the Warranty was Dealer backed and Brooklands were no longer trading dispute checking with companies house who show them as still trading. I am normally very good when it comes to doing business with Rouge Traders, but they did a good number on me. Businesses come and go every day, But Dealer Backed Warranties as it would appear are not worth the paper they are printed on..

It all started so well. Exactly the car I was looking for, Barney and co seemed decent normal people, Brooklands had a good atmosphere and seemed to be decent reviews online. I put down a deposit to reserve the car whilst they got it serviced and sorted out a few minor issues. The next week I paid the outstanding amount and drove away the proud owner of a BMW Convertible. A week later an amber warning light came on, I called Brooklands and they requested I take the car to a local mechanic for a check. He found that there were a lot of old warnings that had not been cleared, cleared them down and asked me to keep an eye on them. All was well for a month and then a red warning light appeared. Ian from Brooklands insisted that I had to have the car towed to a garage or they would take no responsibility for any damage. The garage discovered that the car had not had an oil or filter change for a very long time and that one of the engine sensors needed replacing. That was an unanticipated £720 bill! Clearly we had been sold a car which had not been serviced to the standard I, and I am sure Brooklands, had expected. Easily resolved you would think. Brooklands would reclaim the cost of the service from their subcontractor and pass that on with a small premium for the inconvenience. Sadly not! They seemed to avoid taking calls, refer everything to Ian who seldom rings back and never respond to emails. I am still astonished that 3 months later they have not seen fit to provide any contribution to the costs I have incurred.They have managed to turn a very positive purchasing experience into a huge frustration for a relatively trivial amount of money. What a shame, such a disappointment.

I wish I had paid more attention to the negative reviews. I bought a car from Brooklands Dorset at first service seemed good and everything went smoothly. As soon as I got the car there were problems, then there is no service at all from Brooklands. If you honestly want a car from them my advice is to pay a mechanic to do a once over BEFORE putting a deposit down.

I recently dealt with Ian and Barney from Brooklands Dorset, had a fantastic experience with them, genuine guys not pushy at all, with great knowledge and helped me through a stressful time making it a great time, sorry it's taken a while to write a review but I've had so much fun in my new Audi.

This is the third time time I have purchased a vehicle from Brooklands Dorset. I have found both Ian and Barney to be nothing short of welcoming, knowledgeable and professional. They clearly know what they are doing, there great selection of cars are always well chosen, come with really good history and are in fantastic condition. I can guarantee they are trustworthy which for me is a rare thing I find in this trade. You can seriously buy from brooklands with confidence.

Couldn't ask for more from these guys down at Brooklands Dorset Ltd. Great service, Easy going, No hassle. That's what you need when you're buying car!!

Be very careful with Brooklands Dorset Ltd. They advertise cars as having certain features, and when proved that this is not the case, they blame Auto trader for putting the advert on incorrectly. Ian is ok to deal with, but Barney is not.
