My husband and I (both in our 70s) went into the showroom and left £500 as a deposit on a used car. Later the same day we had second thoughts and rang the salesman who dealt with us. He assured us we would get our deposit returned within "a couple of days". We checked our bank account and no money appeared. After a week we began to chase them up. We got assurances (ever so politely) that our money was on its way. It is now over two weeks and we still haven't had our money back! We have no idea what to do, other than to go and sit in the showroom until we get what we are owed.
Bought a 67 plate 3 series from rybroke 4 days ago in absolutely immaculate condition. Took to Halliwell jones for a few small issues to be dealt with only to receive my car back with a scratched steering wheel and a key that looks like a dogs chewed it. No responsibilities taken by the branch.. “it’s a 3 year old car what do you expect” words from the head of business!!!! Absolutely disgusting branch needs to be closed down!!
They are only interested if your a woman in a miniskirt with big boobs if not they will not be interested in you, I took my car for a servic@ 9am got my car back at4. 45pm and their excuse was they were busy their tyre service and prices are a total rip off also.
Visited Halliwel Jones and had brilliant service from stewart Goulden. All spoilt when o had to male a complaint about the business manager Bryn Williams. Made the complaint to Nick Hanley dealership manager and Stuart Jones head of company and their attitude was absolutely disgusting. Would not even apologise to me. As soon as I’d handed over my money for my dream car the whole attitude changed. Will never shop there again and Would strongly advise no one else does either. Worst experience of my life

You are so right they Don, t give a stuff about customers, all they want is your money, the afters ales managers are a disgrace and two faced.
Recently bought a 66 reg 5 series from Halliwell Jones Northwales. I live a bit of a distance away. I therefore left a £500 deposit without physically seeing the car .However happy with the video etc sent. Managed to arrange to view the car 2 hour trip due to local traffic issues near dealership. On arrival although very polite, saleman was in obvious rush to get me moved on .No test drive available due to him having another customer coming in soon (disappointing after such a long drive) However on viewing car some minor stone chips on car that he promised to get done along with an MOT by the time I collect in weeks time. On collection the car had not had all the stone chips completed (subsequently paint chip stick posted to me) and no mot cert available.Informed electronic these days and you dont get a certificate. (I had given him a mot cert for my p/x.) Any how mot sent on a few days later noticed the windscreen had an advisory for a stone chip to be repaired.(not in line of vision but needed urgent attention) Was told the workshop had done it (obviously had not) Then informed get the windscreen done myself send invoice to them .The salesmen does not answer emails so still awaiting reply .The bill is not going to bankrupt me but dissapointing at level of service from this dealership. Not what Ive come to expect from BMW having bought from another Halliwell Jones branch in the past and been treated very well. Hopefully I will have trouble free motoring during the course of the 12 month warranty period and no need to call upon there services. Seems to be common issue here on this review site,

Purchased a ex demo BMW in January 2017 from Haliwell Jones BMW North Wales , approx 6 months old, for £28,000 18 months later as we decided to down size the car at the same garage, they offer me just over 50% of what we paid. Their reasoning what that there’re to many fleet cars on the market. So been warned the resale value is insulting and their excuses. It was the first BMW i’ve purchase for a lot of years at it will be the last. The dealer surly has an obligation to tell the truth when selling. At the time of purchasing it was one of my questions to the salesman, what about the depreciation ??? We have made a huge mistake buying a BMW but at least I can warn others.
Picked up my new BMW from Halliwell Jones North Wales (Llandudno) this morning I found the staff I dealt with extremely helpful especially salesman Lee Jones. I found him approachable, professional and above all genuine.
I have dealt with North Wales Halliwell Jones for almost twenty years and all contact with them can only be described as a totally upsetting experience! I have too many awful experiences to go into but please, do believe all of the statements you read on this site …… they will happen to you. Ultimately BMW UK. must be held responsible as they have allowed HJ to behave this way and retain their franchise. Just go mystery shopping BMW UK.and you too can be treated to this experience! Yes you will be invisible, Yes you will be patronised, yes they will be rude and dismissive towards you, They will rip you off for every cent they can! Someone here has said...… swish showrooms but Arthur Daley staff and I have to agree! Where most manufacturers are good at recalling cars with a common fault, BMW will not unless it is directly related to a legal safety issue! They will try and recover as much of the cost as they can directly from the customer...…. the less you pay will depend on your knowledge of both the problem itself and the extent of the issue applicable to your car and how BMW are settling such claims. So always search using the WWW and go in armed with all the facts! BMW as manufacturers produce a fantastic product but once the service umperlumpers get their hands on it two things will happen! Firstly they will stuff everything they touch and some things that they shouldn't have and secondly they will never manage to fix or correct a problem and on this I can make you a solemn promise...…… how do they manage to get away with it! well most cars these days are bought on a lease style contract so the owner ( read person who drives it here!) doesn't have the same purchase commitment as they used to have and therefore doesn't feel the same level of ownership nor do they have the same financial commitment over the long term as the person who uses their own hard earned. This majority..... approaching 90% of new car sales now, are used to dropping the keys and car off and picking it up with little concern as to what has happened to it whilst with them! So now we have reached a point in time where dealerships don't need to show care and consideration towards customers in the same way...… a sad day indeed! One last thing to consider! If you are a used car buyer think carefully about what you are buying as it is very likely that it will have been a lease car and smoked around hard by one of these new style customers who also don't care!
Went to get my car serviced at Halliwell Jones North Wales BMW. 3 Service staff sitting at desks, 1 was busy. Girl acknowledged me after 5 Minutes, only to tell me her (busy) colleague would deal with me. Waited and waited and waited whilst 'Girl' sat there stroking her hair and eyelashes whilst telling her other unproductive waste of space colleague who she had slept with the night before. She toddles off on stilettos which look as though they would be at home on a circus stilt walker. After 15 minutes I walk out. Disgraceful service from lack lustre uncaring unprofessional bimbo with a dont care less attitude. Just makes me wonder what the other job applicants were like??
I contacted Halliwell Jones North Wales BMW initially as I wanted both a mini for my Daughter and a new BMW X6 for myself both originally on a business lease. I was told I needed to be contacted by their Business Manager Mr David Smith. I waited and waited and made several calls over a few weeks and left several messages. The salesman in Chester even sent an email on my behalf. He never bothered to contact me at all, and I even told their sales staff when I visited the showroom I wouldn’t buy a car off them now due to the pure lack of interest this so called Business Mangager showed towards my enquiries. Halliwell Jones need to know this as I’m sure there are many other people looking for small fleet purchase cars and he is probably only interested in companies dealing with many cars. A total waste of my time, and went elsewhere for the cars in the end.
