Please could I ask for help from anyone who sees The Motor Corner review page. Can anyone with more info on this car garage contact me as I have lost money through dealing with them. Clare.email@example.com
Do not use this dealer (The Motor Corner in Stockport) . Stay well away. Bought a car from them, which they had literally taken from auction, drove through a car wash and put it on the forecourt. No safety checks/general checks done on the car by them, many major problems, such as tyres not been up to scratch, lights out, horn not working. Told them this, and told them I had no intention of driving the car anywhere, just said drop it off at your earliest convenience, and they'll repair it, then rudely hung up the phone on me. Sent a letter of complaint, as advised by citizens advice, and got a text message back. After threatening to take them to court in a second letter, received a hand written letter back offering to re-MOT the car, but still, telling me again to drop it off, i called them and they agreed to pick up the car, but said "leave the key under the wheel" gives you a lot of faith. They re-MOT'd the car after 6 weeks of this, they did nothing about anything they considered "fair wear and tear". The car I've bought off them, has done nothing but eat money, took it in for a service, and got told the brakes had gone! And now have an oil leak that's going to cost hundreds to repair, just what you want after having the car for 5 months! So I'd strongly advise against buying a car from The Motor Corner.
I thought it necessary to write a review on this car dealer as I've found none elsewhere on the net! Visited to inspect and test drive an Audi TT on 2/8/14. The dealer is a one-man band in a portacabin with no branding to say that this is The Motor Corner anywhere. Most of his stock is without road tax. He has an MOT garage on-site, so very easy for him to put his own stock through an MOT pass with no trouble. He could not produce any maintenance receipts for work on the 133K miles TT (including the crucial water pump, cam belt or clutch) and pretty much had no information to impart or sales pitch, even when given the chance! The test drive consisted of him driving up and down the A6 for two minutes with myself as passenger. No motorway or car park tryout, no drive for myself. Lastly, he thought this was a 4WD car but I suspect it's a 2WD Euro import. I was happy to walk away. Complete lack of faith in the seller and I write this review as fair warning. No sale here.
