I’d been searching for a good quality BMW estate for sometime when by surprise I found one on the Arnold Clark website at this location. Mid lockdown mid August Ringing up and placing a deposit was simple enough and a pleasant pain free experience. Unlike the rest of it. Once this was complete I was told that MOT valet and V5 process shifting the old private plate off may take a couple of weeks, which I was happy with and as I was based in Manchester I started to prep my work diary so I could easily get there around lockdown restrictions. I was phoned up by the sales person a week later, the last week of August and told I had to be there in the next 72 hours in order to compete the deal before the end of August. Not only was I unable to get there due to the bank holiday weekend, but I had booked a day off work to get there the Tuesday after in the first week of September. This however was unacceptable by the Sales person, as the ‘deals don’t work that way’ ‘we don’t run our operation like that’ ‘and it wasn’t good for him’ I was fully intending to buy the car, but couldn’t get to the site until the week after and was then being put under so much offensive Sales pressure in that it was not good for the sales person that he was down right rude about the whole thing. I explained I had Tuesday free to come and collect, to which he finished the conversation by saying he would refer to his manager and come back to me. He didn’t. I had to chase again the following day, and again the day after. Once I finally got hold of him it was as though the conversation hadn’t happened, but this time I had to come in on Monday or Wednesday. Rolling my eyes in the back of my head I explained again that I had booked Tuesday off work so I could travel to Glasgow and collect. However it was explained to me that as this was his day off I was not able to do the deal without him there..... I asked about Sales Managers or other colleagues but was told that no one else would be able to do the deal. Again we to’d and fro’d on the phone in a very pressurised manner. I’m shocked that a business of this size would not take care of each other’s sales or help out internally. I tried to move my day off at work but as it was such short notice was unable to do so. I decided to cut my losses and asked for my deposit back and cancelled the sale. To be fair to David it was processed without quibble and I had my Deposit back in my account within a couple of days.
All the staff who worked with us both on the sale of our old car and the purchase of our new could not have been more helpful. There was no sense of pressure during our three visits and each member of the team worked together to guide us through the stages required. We ended up selling our car at a very competitive price and buying a Kia Nero hybrid which is a fantastic car.
I bought a brand new Kia Rio pulse ( limited edition) White with red vinyl roof in January 2018 from this branch . Ended up I raised a merchandise dispute through my pcp finance company ( Northridge finance) as branch member damaged the red vinyl on my roof as he scraped the car when I was collecting it ( as we had bad snow in Glasgow at that time ). When I noticed the damage I contacted the salesman from the branch straight away. I took car back in next day for them to take photos & get it repaired . 3 weeks later car still hadn’t been repaired constantly having to phone the branch , failed promise after promise from them to return any of my calls or any updates of car repair. I lost faith in branch so logged a formal complaint with Arnold Clark head office. He said that I couldn’t prove that it was branch staff that caused the damage & laughed down the phone at me, also told me I had no rights to reject the car & it was only cosmetic damage !! I tried to hand the car back to the branch under my consumer rights act 2015 ( as I do have rights ) but the manager was very aggressive towards me & my fiancé he actually threw us out the branch & refused to take the car back , he also refused to give me anything in writing to confirm this as I was taking the case to court. Absolutely unacceptable behaviour from a branch manager. Wasn’t interested in me after I drove the car out the showroom in January. Well I am happy to say that I won my case at start of March 2018 for right to reject through my finance company So after all that I got to hand the car back to the Springburn Kia branch, the finance got settled & I got my deposit & monthly payment back . I would definitely NOT recommend this branch to anyone Arnold Clark head office we’re also very unhelpful regarding the situation. I feel that they took the branch managers side over mine.
Promises not kept after 6 phone calls no joy. Arnold Clark Springburn branch nothing but liars in my opinion.
Looking for a car can be a daunting exercise but the staff, here, at Arnold Clark were really lovely to us. I have mobility problems and they couldn't do enough to help me and make me comfortable.
sales rep Anthony Gilligan was excellent, car delivered on the date stated. I recommend.
Had my car for 5 days for a seized back brake, replaced the rear discs, pads, shoes at a cost of £330. Got the car back it still had a seized back brake do they not road test after repair? Had it inspected independently and was told the rear brake calipe had seized. Told Arnold Clark who took the car in for a further 2 days to do this despite having 3 estimates who all said this would be 1 hour labour. The brake caliper was replaced problem solved. No charge. For this at £170 but this leaves me £160 out of pocket, service manager refused to refund me or offer anything to offset the extra cost I incurred for work that wasn't needed. Shocking customer service, they have lost a long time customer and I would advise you to avoid Arnold Clark Galsgow due to poor service!
Bought a car from this Arnold Clark branch branch seven weeks ago, had to make a few long journeys to view/test drive and then collect due to paperwork and having to sign in branch which I did. Today the clutch has totally gone, the car having now to be returned for repair, which there was no argument about, what I am disappointed in is the fact I live 150 miles from the branch they wish to return my car to and refuse to give me a courtesy car. I live in a rural area with a child and have no transport to get her to school or myself to work being told that this car dealership has no cars and again I'm not available to sign in branch, for a company who wish for their reputation to be of high customer satisfaction I find this extremely poor towards myself, a paying customer!
I bought a Ford Kuga in August. I have had issues with the CD player and Radio since I got the car. It has been in for repair 4 times and has come back with issues every time. There have been numerous complications and the service is pretty bad. I wouldn't use this dealership again.
I bought a Ford Fusion from Arnold Clarke in Glasgow. After only one week the shock absorbers completely went on it so I took it to my local Arnold Clark Dealership who said they would sort it and contact the Glasgow branch for payment but they refused to pay out stating it was wear and tear. Eventually they managed to get the funds and did the repair. A few days later the engine was leaking fuel so I had to take it back to them again and after a couple of attempts its bee sorted. The after care from the Huddersfield branch has been great but i would not recommend the glasgow branch.
