AVOID ARNOLD CLARK VAUXHALL LINWOOD. Absolute joke! On Monday morning i was driving to college when my car broke down in the car park with loads of smoke coming from the engine and the car temperature gauge going crazy! Managed to get the car into a space and call AA who informed me that 17days early when arnold clark vauxhall Linwood were fixing a crack on my crankshaft (which is a manufacturing fault but as my warranty was 6hrs over they wouldnt fix) they had left a black cable tie round my cooling fan so the fan was blocked and couldnt cool the engine down so thats why it over heated! I took the car back to arnold clark who then said that they dont tie cable ties round fans even though the AA driver who worked use to work for that branch told me they did but they fixed it anyway! I had to phone the next day to find out what was wrong with the fan they didnt even have courtesy to phone me or ofer a courtesy! car The car does not feel right and is only a 15 plate with 38k miles on the clock and has far too many problems with it! I asked for a new car as they had broken mines or compensation for all the hassle and money i had lost for this car they said they would get back to me then 2 days later i phone them for them to say we will fix your brakes for free (which my breaks dont need fixed they are fine) or a could get a free service! The customer service has been absolutely terrible this car has had too many faults and no doubt will have a whole lot more now the fan was burnt out for 17days
Booked my car in for a service for the 4th year running at Arnold Clark Toyota Linwood now obviously the previous 3 years went better than this visit!! So the car which was booked in for first thing Monday morning so I could get the car back early as I had a four hour journey home with my 3 yo son! My girlfriend had left the car in as I was working in a location with very poor or no phone signal on my mobile now you wouldn’t have thought it would have made a difference who booked the car in but it does according to Stuart brown the general manager now if anyone else can get they’re head around this please can they let me know as when a car is booked in it is via it’s number plate. My girlfriend left the key and phone number on the Sunday night when the car was left in....so on the Monday at 2.30pm she hadn’t heard a peep and phoned Arnold Clark for an update to be told that the car wasn’t left in this morning! Explained that the car was left in Sunday night they said they would find out where it was when the line went dead so finally after 20 minutes when she got back through asked to speak to a manager and got the service manager who assured her he would find out what went wrong and as he went on his journey to find my missing car he left the phone down at the service desk for my girlfriend to hear the service desk staff saying “it’s that woaman that’s been on the phone for 20 minutes”with the reply “who cares forget about it” once the service manager came back on the phone he was confronted with what had been overheard and said he would sort it out assuring there would have been no mallice meant by it 🤔 eventually my girlfriend phoned back at 5 o’clock for another update to be told we have text scott...what part of leaving her own phone number as a contact number was not understood here! Got the car back at 5.30 and didn’t even receive an apology when picking my car up! The next day I phoned up the general manager to voice my concerns about the lack of service I had received after all a Toyota service by a company that says it is always striving to do better has failed so drastically and I can assure you that after both of us speaking to Stuart brown the general mananger we both ageeed he was not helpful in the least sometimes holding your hands up and admit there was a failure is the hardest but best thing to do to move a problem forward instead he said I find that very hard to believe! So my girlfriend then phoned up to speak to him the next day and she honestly still thinks she was speaking to a salesman / comedian and not a general mananger by this time he admitted to her that something was said and there was no mallice intended! As a mananger surely you need to understand that weather there was mallice intended or not that was so unprofessional and should never have happened. If you want a chance of this happening to you then get booked up but an alternative is use Toyota in Helensburgh which is actually a premium service you receive and not just playing at it

Picked up our new Kuga ST line X today. What fabulous service we received from Darby Gallagher at Arnold Clark Linwood. He is an asset to Arnold Clarke......wouldn’t go anywhere else 😀
Took my car to Arnold Clark Vauxhall’s dealer in Linwood today thought I had a leak turned out it was air con drain. They did a free health check while car was there also got it back shiny and hoovered couldn’t believe it. Thank you so much amazing service.

My first car purchase from arnold clark ,can only say they made everything go very smooth ,from sales very relaxed and no pressure ,to after sales and customer service,all issues after testing and viewing the car i bought were fixed after purchase . Hugely impressed and cant recommend them highly enough,will definitely use them again as they seem to put customer satisfaction before everything. Top team . Joe mcenroe .

Bought my 15 plate renault clio from here 2 weeks ago now and on the first week I had to take it back as ALL my alloy valves had been corroded. I used a full tank of petrol in just 5 days and received nothing back as compensation. Anyway so I took my car to the garage and when I dropped my car off I had no transport back up the road or to work tomorrow morning and asked for a courtesy car and i was told we have none left! So i then had to walk home which took me 40mins. You'd think if they had no cars left they would pay for a taxi? Anyway so now have to take it back to arnold Clark again as my break pads need replaced. I was told once I had purchased the car it had been M.O.T'd just before leaving the garage for me as it was due and i had paid for it! Cleanly not been M.O.T'd by someone with a brain! They ought to sort their mechanics out or get new ones. Not happy at all with over all service and will never buy from Arnold Clark again.
Bought my car from Arnold Clark Linwood 6 months ago and had to take it in yesterday cause I have a rattling noise from engine and breaks binding on but the warranty that they give u does not cover the things that are causing the noises think it is a disgrace that after just six month I am having to replace break pads.

I had the aim to trade in my 59 Insignia some time ago but had to sort out paperwork and in that time the MOT had expired but I didn't think it would make a huge difference on the trade in value, at the very worst it would be the difference in whatever a service and MOT would cost. My father and I went into Arnold Clark Citroen in Linwood, Paisley to see about a Ford Focus. Met with the sales guy and we talked about the Focus and then I explained the situation with my car and lack of MOT. Him and his boss inspected the car and said normally this car would trade in for between £2500-£2800 but with the MOT and other bits needing fixed they would offer me £2200. I was fine with this as it would cost me about that to fix it myself so why not let them do it. From there we went through finance details etc which was all looking good. At this point my dad piped up and said rather than paying over £1100 pounds extra in finance over the term my dad would be happy to pay for the car and I would pay him back, at a much better rate of course. After I took that info in and we talked about it the sales guy said that wouldn't be a problem to buy the car outright and do away with the finance. This is where it all goes wrong. He said he had to go and run that past his boss who has been sitting across the showroom in his office. After his talk he comes back and says that is all fine but he introduces the fact that as the car has no MOT we will have to leave it with the to go through a "health check" to make sure there's nothing massively wrong with it. Had never heard of this before, in the past I've traded a car in with a month or so MOT on it and never had any question but never no MOT so I agreed to leaving it. The next strange thing I notice was that when he asked me how many miles I had on the car I stated 78600 miles and when he inspected the car he mentioned that it just had a wee but more but not that much. My v5 also stated that it had 2 previous owners but when he filled out the contract for the deal he put down it had done 79001 miles, it had done 78661, and he put down it had 3 previous owners. It was only when I got home it suddenly dawned on me that they wouldn't like to conclude this deal as they don't stand to make as much selling the car without a finance deal. In my head I thought they'll try and find something on the car that means they can low ball me on the trade in so that they either get my car for alot less or hope that I'll walk away from the deal and they can hope someone comes in take the focus on a nice big fat finance deal. Low and behold sales guy from Arnold Clark calls me back and says that the pads on the front brakes are down the metal, which I was aware of but aren't expensive to fit new ones. He then went on to say that the front right shocker was leaking and the PAS pump was leaking. He claimed that because all of these things would need to be fixed to make it "MOT'able" and because of the low value they would now not put it on their forecourt but simply punt it to trade they could only offer me £1500. Without going into any discussion as I had anticipated this, I simply called him out on it and said this all comes down to the fact I wasn't taking finance and you don't want to sell me the car. He proclaimed his innocence and I said I would be down for my car the next day. My father and I picked up my car and my dad picked him up again on the poor way he has went about this and again pointed out the fact that it was only after we changed our mind on the finance that the "health check" came into play. He claims the health check was mentioned earlier which was blatantly not the case but by now the damage is done. I also point out to him that I notice his slight increases in his paperwork to make my car look slightly worse than it was and that there was no way a car of that age was ever going to your forecourt as there's not an Arnold Clark in the country with a car of my make and model on they forecourt, it was always going to trade. Once we returned home my father received a timely call from his own Arnold Clark as his car was coming up to 3 years and wondered if he was looking to change it. My dad took the chance and explained that whilst he had using Arnold Clark for 15+ years he would never step foot in one of their showrooms ever again. The sale man was surprised and asked why at which point my dad told him the whole story. The sales man was surprised and annoyed as he stated this was not common practice in Arnold Clark and should not have happened. He said it makes other sales man look bad and has now clearly cost him a long term customer. He suggested we write to Customer Services to complain which we have done. My dad received a call from the manager at Arnold Clark today spouting more lies. He claimed to have overheard the whole discussion that day, somehow from his office, and that the health check was mentioned way before the talk of finance. My dad then explained to him that we have since taken the car to get MOT'd and serviced at a cost of £200 and no more. There was no talk of the issues they had raised and in fact the one thing that did need done was new front discs and one of them had warped. Arnold Clarks "health check" didn't mention any of that which from the state of the old disc a mechanic would have spotted straight away if it had been anywhere near a ramp. His only excuse was that some mechanics see some things others don't. He asked that now it has MOT and service would I like to bring it back in and we can do a deal and which point my dad nearly spat his tea out. My dad explained that we would never step foot in his showroom due the severe lack of trust so no there is nothing he can do. At this point he merely offered an apology and that was it. My dad then received call from customer services to say that they knew he had received a call from the Manager and that the Manager told them we were considering bringing the car in to look at a deal again. Yet more tea spat out as the lies keep coming. My dad furiously explained that there was no such agreement and that the man is clearly telling lies. Is he telling head office that so it looks like he's sorting the situation because he most definitely has not sorted anything. This showroom has shown itself to be downright despicable in the lies they tell and the lengths they will go to. It's clearly worked out for them as they still have the focus and will talk someone into some finance and all they had to say was "sorry". Well that's not good enough and I will make a point of letting as many people as I can know about the shambles that is Arnold Clark (Linwood Branch)
