Never ever buy a car from this place. These guys will sell you any old piece of crap with a bent MOT

i was initially put off by the reviews but thought i would go and see the car anyway. i was happy with the attitude of the sales person and the car was very nice . i went ahead with the purchase of my mercedes c class and i havent been dissapointed. i would recommend .

The worst car experience I have ever ever had in my life time. They are all full of rubbish lying and Dodgey trying to sell me a car that failed it's MOT without telling me and needed a full engine rebuild I checked the history online so that's how I new it was crap don't even think of buying from this shocking place

This will be the first bad review I have ever given. On the few occasions that I have had an issue with something I have purchased, I have contacted the company concerned and they dealt with the issue in a professional manner. However, I am so appalled with the service and attitude of this business that I have found it necessary to write this review. I purchased a car on behalf of my daughter. I initially called the company to arrange to see the car, I test drove the car, agreed the part ex on my daughters car and have been the one point of contact with this business so am effectively the customer. After 1 month, the car developed a loud crunching sound from the front suspension whenever you went over a small bump. I rang Ashton Car Services, and on 2 occasions were told by the owner, can you call back in a few days as we are busy. This seemed odd as surely they would want to address the issue quickly and be helpful. Alas, that was not the case. It was finally booked in and the car was returned the same day. They said that they had refitted the heat shield on the rear part of the exhaust. I had already told then that the noise was from the front. Anyway, I drove the car home and the noise was still there. I called back and after some persuasion, they agreed to take it back and get their garage to look at it. 2 days later, they came back and said that their garage had said that the front spring was ok, the top mount was ok, therefore it had to be the shock absorber on the near side front. However, this part is not covered by their warranty. I asked to see the documentation about the warranty and the young lad said the warranty was with Tony, the owner. I thought, right so it can be anything he decided it to be, which was not the shock absorber on this occasion. I went away very disappointed and arranged to book it into my own garage that I have used for many years. They replaced the shock absorber which was faulty and also the top mount as this was badly worn. Whilst doing this, they also observed that the ball joint had not been fitted correctly at some point in the cars history and was in their view very dangerous as the ball joint was only held on by a small amount of thread. They quickly put this right due to its dangerous nature. They stated that the car should never have passed the MOT in this condition. I rang Ashton Car Sales to tell them this and the young lad said that my garage must have fitted the ball joint incorrectly when replacing the shock absorber. However, you only need to disconnect the drop link to do this so clearly he did not know what he was talking about. After some discussion, he said he would get the owner Tony to call me. Unfortunately, he never did and he did not respond to my emails I sent to him. I have since reported this matter to Trading Standards as they sold a car in a dangerous condition. I would strongly urge people to read the many bad reviews they have received and act accordingly. I wish I had read these reviews as I would not have gone anywhere near Ashton Car Sales. If anyone has any doubt about how bad this company, simply read the unprofessional, childlike response the owner gives to one of the reviews left. This will tell you all you need to know.

Bought a Audi Q3 after being turned down EVERYWHERE else. So happy with it! I dont understand the other reviews whatsoever. I am aware im buying a used car and they do come with some aged trouble however there have been non at all and if there is I have full faith the team will sort it out. Tony is a great guy, really friendly - straight-talking.

Very poor , went elsewhere because of the Bad attitude

I very rarely write negative reviews & try to see the positives but I’m leaving a review as a returning customer, I’m not going to be to harsh due to the current situation we find our country in, however on this occasion I have to say I don’t have a good feeling, I returned here having purchased a car 2 years ago, I had one issue with the previous car that did get resolved so had no reason to believe I would have any issues this time round, however reading some of the above reviews I can completely relate to what people are saying, I purchased a car just over 4 weeks ago, on day 2 the engine light came on, I took the car back then was told the issue was resolved only for the same problem to occur again a few days later, took it back again & was told this time it was going to a specialist in this particular make of vehicle, all good you might think, again got the car back under the impression the issue was resolved, low & behold a few days later the same issue occurs, by now Iv had enough & want to return the car as I have no faith in it what so ever, as a key worker in these testing times I need my car more than ever, I have tried calling them to see what can be done but now seems like I’m being ignored, so basically stuck in limbo with a car I cannot drive, I have rang the finance company who were less than helpful & learn that the issues have also never been highlighted to the people who deal with the warranties so as far as they are concerned the problem never existed. I am now going to have to shell out to buy a car to get me to work & back & be stuck with a car that’s not safe to be on the road. I’m shocked & disappointed as the boys are really nice but looking at some of the reviews above it seems I’m not the only one. The finance company have informed me the only way I can get out of the agreement is if they agree to take the car back which at first I thought they might but now I doubt that very much. Feeling very worried right now. I was really hoping all this could be resolved amicably, I feel I have been very patient during all the problems & put my faith in them, I feel now my trust will be my downfall. It’s when things go wrong you truly learn what people are like. I am not an unreasonable person but feel my comments are justified on this occasion
