Bought my car today. I was very happy with the service from the day I viewed my car to the day it was purchased. I would definitely recommend Balkwell motor company. Friendly, very helpful and lovely motors at a good price.
Agreed the sale of a car through Balkwell Motor Company. Paid the depsosit and waited 1 week for repair work to be done to the wheels. The company sent an email the day before stating that there was a problem with the MOT and they needed to pull out of the sale. I emailed them back saying that I was happy to wait if the car could be fixed. I have had no reply to the email, they did refund the deposit, but then I see the car reposted £700 higher as the refurbishments had been made to the wheels.

I am sorry that you were not completely happy with the outcome of your interaction with us. As you have mentioned, and we explained to you, unfortunately as preparation was being carried out on the car you were interested in there was an issue uncovered which ultimately required a significant amount of time to resolve as parts were not available immediately from Renault. I’m sure that you can appreciate that we refunded your deposit to allow you the best opportunity to buy your new car without waiting a prolonged period of time. I do understand that it must have been frustrations for you, but we acted with the best intentions. in regards to the cars price when it eventually went back up for sale, this was in respect of the additional repairs carried out upon the vehicle.
I have bought several cars from Balkwell Motor Company overs the years and have never had any real issues to speak of. Whenever faults have arisen they have always done their best to get them resolved with as little cost or inconvenience as possible.

Disgraceful firm to deal with. I recently purchased a vehicle costing over £9,000 and was led to believe it had a spare key. Transpires that it didn't and Vauxhall dealer wants £260 to cut one. Immediately Contacted this dealer and they didn't want to know. Came up with all sorts of rubbish and was rude and arrogant when I spoke to JohnPaul. They claim on their website that 'There are no hidden administration fees or unexpected extras...' which is absolute rubbish, as I'm now finding out. Wish to God I'd read other bad reviews before handing over my hard earned money to his bunch. Will be taking this matter further via legal channels.

I am sorry you are unsatisfied . It was my understanding that a discussion was had prior to purchase in which you were made aware that there was no spare key with the vehicle and that, if required, we could arrange for one to be cut for you at the time of purchase and you declined. However, I apologise if you feel this is not the case. Despite being under no obligation, when you contacted us after purchase we did offer to split the cost of having a spare key cut and programmed for you, at a discounted trade price, which you also declined. I am sorry that we have been unable to resolve this issue to your satisfaction. If there is anything else I can help you with, please do not hesitate to contact me.
We bought a car from Balkwell Motor Company with a new MOT only to have problems 4 weeks later, another reputable garage inspected and found a long list of long term problems rendering the vehicle unroadworthy. Reported to trading standards and the DVLA. Nice when you buy, once they have your cash they aren't interested. Please don't waste your money here.

Thank you for your comments. I am sorry that you have found there to be issues with your car and I would be grateful if you could contact me with specific details so that I may investigate this fully. We have our cars MOT'd via an independent 3rd party tester to ensure transparency. If there have been an issues they have overlooked we need to be aware to improve or service. We have not had any complaints raised to us through either Trading Standards or VOSA in regards to your complaint at this point, so any information you could provide us would be appreciated.
Really bad customer service once Balkwell Motor Company have got the money. Tyres in bad conditions after they "passed the MOT" and they didn't want to change them saying that it was our fault as a possible puncture, nothing to do with them. The wiper as well in bad conditions, I don't know how the car passed the MOT with all of these damage things.

I am sorry that you do not feel satisfied with your purchase. However, I must point out that your vehicle passed an MOT via a 3rd party at the point of purchase, the tyres in particular were of a legal tread depth. It was made clear to you before you bought the car that they would be replaced if they failed the MOT, which they did not. As per our discussions before and after you bought the car, I feel it is important to reiterate that it is not realistic to buy a 3 year old car and expect to get 20,000 miles from the tyres - as you have stated to me you expected. We also checked the tyres on more that two occasions ourselves, and with a 3rd party tyre specialist, after you had purchased the car and found there to be no issue whatsoever.
