Recently purchased an amazing priced low mileage vehicle from frank. (Citroen C1) The car was cheaper than nearly all of similar spec/ age etc. Immaculate condition, Drove like a dream. Frank was straight to the point and was very trusting and easy to deal with. Highly recommend.

I have had just one business transaction with Frank Bateman. He changes his mind and his stories to fit his argument. Little logic, but lots of hot air. I had a very bad experience and found him to be way too angry, accusing, and unpleasant for my liking. I would advise against doing business with Bateman Cars St Albans as seller or buyer.

Have now bought 2 cars from Frank, looked at other dealers and came back to him both times. No hard sales-just good advice.

Ok, here is a massive warning for anyone thinking of buy from Bateman Cars in St Albans: Do Not Buy From this Seller (Also known as Bateman Cars or Frank Bateman). To say they lack integrity would be to put it mildly. I have been a victim of their misrepresentation of a vehicle and currently seeking legal counsel. Be especially wary if you are purchasing from them privately. Be very apprehensive of The Frank Bateman character, because lying comes easy to him. If you wish to avoid the predicament I now find myself in which is having a vehicle that does not function as it should and making resale impossible then please stay as far away from this dealer as you can. Bought a lovely Ford KA, low mileage and great price - all in all an excellent deal! Frank was extremely helpful and genuine, would highly recommend to anyone.

I bought a beautiful Fiesta 1.25 on Monday from Bateman Cars in St Albans​ (14/11/2016), drives like a dream , Frank was really helpful I believe that I got an excellent deal from a honest person Thanks Frank.

Last August I brought a Corsa from Bateman cars and was very happy,good car good service,so this week I wanted a small car for my granddaughter so I looked on this site and found a Aygo ice and purchased it last week, she is over the moon with the car and the service,thank you Frank!

Bought a lovely 2008 VW Fox which had VW fsh and had only had 2 lady owners from new. Great car with lots of paperwork so at first was really happy. At point of sale Frank was great to deal with although he wouldn't budge on price at all. I asked about warranty as I had never bought a second hand car from a sole trader before and he said he would provide a 1 month warranty. The car had been MOT'd the day before without any advisories. I drove it home around the M25 and it drove perfectly, however on returning home and driving at low speed around country lanes I noticed an annoying rattle from the rear which at first I just thought was something in the rear boot well where the spare wheel and tools were but on looking there was nothing obvious. My husband did a thorough check of the car and said it could be a rear shock absorber so nothing too serious and something we could buy and replace ourselves. We initially ordered one from VW and fitted it and it did solve 90% of the rattle but it was still there which meant the other side needed replacing too which we have now done and it's sorted. The shock absorbers were £52 each and as my husband fitted them it meant no garage costs. I called Frank to explain and he wasn't at all helpful and said that they were OK when I bought the car (admittedly on test drive we never heard the rattle but there were 3 people in the car on a main road at higher speed so it wouldn't have been evident). He then back peddled and said the warranty only covered engine and gear box and that the car was old!! He was very unprofessional and in the end put the phone down on me!! So a lesson learnt, don't buy a car from someone who is only interested in the sale and not the after sale.....a token gesture of a contribution towards the shock absorbers would have gone a long way considering the actual cost of the parts was only £104!! It's a shame as I would have even considered buying from him again.
