Would you like to buy a 2nd hand car from a dealer that keeps their cars in a pig sty for 6 months and never washes them? This is the one for you! I visited this dealership to view a DS7 Crossback La Premiere advertised with no disclosed issues online, took a test drive with Alex. Only a central locking fault was disclosed beforehand, which I accepted, and they said they were sending to citroen to fix, only issue would be a delay in when i could buy the car. Despite confirming my Saturday visit on Thursday, the car was absolutely filthy upon arrival. It was covered in grime as if it hadn’t been washed in months. Hot tip for these bunch, if you want to sell a car to someone you know is coming. Wash it! That's not rocket science. The dealership disclosed no issues in their advert (it even looked clean...), but the car had the following issues: 1. Pitted and lipped brake discs (an MOT advisory cleared suspiciously 3 days post-test, when i asked about this they said it was "likely us" that did the MOT, and it was up to the discretion of the person doing the MOT. This was a clear advisory that should have remained, as no work was done. You cant just clear the advisory 3 days later to sell it, that's misleading). 2. Red suspension issue alert on startup, which dissappears 1 second later. 3. Hands-free boot inoperable, and the button didnt make the boot rise like it should, had to open it manually. 4. Plastic Bumper paint pitted 5. Engine bay contained sand-like residue and components corroded white from salt. 6. Interior touch-sensitive lights do not turn off when touched. 7. Red flags in the service records. Showed it had previous issues with not starting up. Steering lock and immobiliser replaced. 8. Alarm kept going off every time Alex walked away, likely due to the central locking fault however which they did disclose. Dealership Response: - Alex dismissed concerns, claiming "it's done 77,000 miles – you can't expect it to be perfect." This isn’t about perfection – I accept its done 77,000 miles and it won't be perfect. But id have prefered the truth as to not waste a journey seeing this filthy bag of spanners, I just wanted an acceptable car. (Is it too much to ask to have a clean car to look at?). Refused to fix any issues (e.g., brake discs) unless legally required for an MOT. - Hung up on me when confronted about the car’s unclean state, after downplaying it as "a bit dirty" (very generous assessment) Only come here if you like: Undisclosed defects MOT irregularities: Advisory issues "cleared" without any work done. Unprofessional conduct: Avoid Alex – he’s rude and unaccountable. This dealership wasted my time, unfortunately i wont be compensated for that. All's i can ask is that others dont waste their time.

A good friend purchased a car from BR Leeds. Within a week the car was running very rough and is not fit for purpose in any way. He is having to rent a vehicle in the mean time to commute to his two jobs. BR Leeds unwilling to take the car back, trading standards and citizens advice unable to help and now he is having to work extra shifts to pay a solicitor an absurd amount to enter into legal proceedings. He's had his Christmas and new year ruined by this issue and no one will talk to him about getting this sorted out. I wouldn't recommend Bennett Renault Leeds if you are a cash buyer as they appear to have no after sales service and no interest in consumer law / 30 days right to reject. The Consumer Rights Act 2015 gives consumers a 30-day right to reject faulty goods and receive a full refund. This is known as the "short term right to reject
