Buyers beware of Blofield motor company!!! Since buying a car 7 months ago for circa 16k it has drained my wife and I emotionally, financially and caused no end of worry and an awful lot of our time. 3 months and a day into ownership and a day out of warranty we had an engine light come on!!! Our local long term mechanic came out and read the code and suspected a cam chain was needed and something his garage were not equipped to do, but suggested we phoned blofield as it was only one day out of warranty and they should be able to help. We phoned Simon and he suggested to get the car to him as he wouldn’t see us stuck. We arranged for the rac to tow the car to blofield as we were advised by our mechanic and rac not to drive the car. After they had the car a week we hadn’t heard anything so we phoned them for an update, we got informed that the car was on the ramps having a nox sensor fitted, and they would ring when all sorted. We never received a call from Simon, so after the garage having the car for 3 weeks and several calls to them in the 3rd week asking when could we expect it to be ready we picked our car back up, and Simon told us ‘the cars driving lovely sweet as a nut’ we drove off happy the car was fixed, although 3 weeks was a long while, he had fixed it and not given us a bill and it’s ’as sweet as a nut’ not 2 mile up the road my wife notices a knocking sound coming from a front wheel area, unbeknown to me, I overtake her and head for home. After arriving home I hear of my wife’s horrible drive home in the ‘sweet as a nut’ car and I book it in to our usual local mechanic and the knocking sound was a loose link arm, he just had to tighten the nut. It could have maybe been a dangerous, maybe fatal drive home for my wife and young daughter that day, it was at this point our faith in blofield took a massive dive. Two weeks later a light comes back on, we’re in a dilemma, take it back to blofield or not, we opted not and took it to a prestige car specialist. We had a call a few hours later it had blown a turbo. We pay for a turbo £2300, We pick up car a day after dropping it off to them and they kept us constantly in the loop.Unfortunately we only have to car home for two days and a light comes back on, took it back to the same garage that fit the turbo to read the codes and they suggest the timing chain, now I’m best part of £2500 in over original price of the car and the car is still showing timing chain issues.Friends and family suggest that under our consumer rights, blofield are liable and are responsible for a refund or a repair. We emailed blofield to explain and within a week Simon came and collected our car and left us a courtesy car, I was glad we weren’t having to borrow family’s cars or hire rental car. Now the courtesy car was a little ropey looking and a bit grubby, but I’m a begger at this point and grateful. Fast forward two weeks and only ever one way phone calls. . . . us to them!!! We finally got the go ahead to collect our car, it apparently it was just an oily sensor probably from when the turbo blew up. 3 days later the light comes back on. A heated discussion by myself to Simon at his garage led to us driving of again in a courtesy car. Whilst waiting for none existent phone calls during another 3 weeks my wife was Pulled by police for no insurance or tax on the courtesy car! The car is back after a TIMING chain replacement but the jury is still out.Purchase from this garage at your peril and don’t hope for updates or calls as I’m convinced the phones there only receive calls and don’t make out going calls. To say we’re exhausted is an understatement, please take your time to consider if you buy a car from here. I’m sure we have been unlucky with the problems with our car but Blofields lack of communication in our difficult times has been terrible and perhaps if the chain would have been replaced in the first instance I might be leaving a different review, and let’s be fair it was the timing chain that was advised by my long time mechanic 5 months ago. And Simon I’m still awaiting a call.

I really didn't want to leave a bad review but this garage has had multiple chances to rectify this cars constant problems. It is now at the point where I won't have the car back, which is ruining my credit score, after the car has gone in for repair, you have to keep badgering them for an update, they make you feel like you're being a nuisance. Clutch went within a week of owing the car, other issues resulting in thr engine being covered in oil. The gearbox hasn't been right from the start. Now using obcene amounts of oil, I have been very patient and polite for the past 6 months with these constant problems, I have now had to get a little bit firmer which has resulted in him blocking me on all platforms. It would appear he buys his cars from auctions, puts them straight up for sale without testing them. Its a shame to have to write this review as he's had multiple chances to fix this.

bought car from .them .., that's when my problems started. I am profoundly deaf. From start he knew i was deaf, but still sold me car with problem's i could not hear. There was whinning and knocking from car going along. The gearbox was making noise which then needed replacement gearbox. I could not hear all this noise. I had to take back to him a few times to have repaired or so i thought. It always came back to me making noises that i ciuld not hear. My freind kept telling me about it. Then i had enough, i took back and asked for replacement car or money back. On both counts he refused point blank. So i had no choice but to go to another garage and buy another car leaving me thousands pounds out of pocket. I hope he proud of himself the way he treated a disable person who could not hear all the noise of car when he sold it to me.And he never gave me all the paperwork for car. He always said "i find it for you" not even certificate from the specialist gearbox garage for the replacement gearbox he surposed to have taken car too.

Purchased a car at the end of February, 20th March the car breaks down because of the fuel injectors and the car is towed back to blofields for repairs, 2 weeks later and thw car is ready to collect, cambelt had been replaced (at my request due to no service history and mileage).. 2 weeks later the car is returned back to blofield for the water pump to be changed (should have been done when the cambelt was replaced personally).. And yesterday the engine light returned, codes read and now the cars having to be taken to another garage for a full vehicle inspection to see what the actual issue is.. I’ve reason to believe the fuel injectors are misfiring and causing the issues.. hard to say what’s actually been repaired on the car as I only got 1 document to say the cambelt had been replaced nothing else… Formal complain has been made as you don’t expect a car to go wrong so much after being repaired the first time.

Simon Green from Blofield Motor Company in response to Great start, not so good finish.
Luke we got involved on both times your vehicle had an issue. We did not replace the water pump because this engine has a wet belt and is not driven by the water pump. In fact while your car was in with us you said that the car was booked in with Peugeot to have the wet belt replace at 1200 pounds and we said that as you had an issue while the car is in we will help you do the wet belt at only the price on the kit (£120) and we will cover the cost on labour at good will.
Having bought a car previously from this firm I am about to buy another. Simon sold me my first car from here back in January 2014. The car was only sold by me privately a few months ago and I only had a minor issue a week after collecting my car which was sorted fairly fast. The fact that the sales guy Simon is still there was a bonus on my latest visit as he was so helpful previously. They don’t currently have what I’m looking for so may try elsewhere. The reviews I am reading don’t compare to my previous experience as other fair reviews confirm. As with any car purchase do your homework by checking the car history online which is easy to do.

Can’t fault these guys 1 bit. From start to finish I’ve been looked after and kept upto date. Really pleased with my fiesta I picked up today. Drives perfect. Would recommend to any1 to buy a car here. And as it happens a friend is buying a Vauxhall Mokka from here too.
