I purchased a green mini off Mark Oliver at BOC in March and paid £10,995, after 2 weeks I found out that it had been in an accident and 2 doors were full of filler. I contacted Mark who said he would repair it. I phoned Trading Standards who told be the law states he had to give me a refund within 30 days. He ignored any correspondence I sent, this went on for 3 stressful months, eventually I got a solicitor to sort it out which he did, When I took the car back this obnoxious ‘person’ started throwing paperwork about like a child. Be warned avoid, it will cost you dearly.

We purchased a car from James Hancock at BOC Used Car Sales in April 2019, his opening line when we called him to see the car was “ I was on my way to buy some jeans from the Trafford centre!!” We should have walked away at that point! when test driving the car all the sales patter was applied and the buttering up, we liked the car so agreed the purchase provided the second key be replaced and the advisory of a leaking exhaust fixed as well as a full service and Fresh MOT. Collected and paid for the car a week later all’s well .... I rang James as the radio didn’t work properly, and the exhaust was still leaking we were about to take it to the garage then the car lost power on the motor way, turns out the coil pack and 2 spark plugs had gone. The 2 spark plugs were so rusted because they were sat in water, the garage advised me Someone had jet washed the engine. I had the garage write up what they found wrong with car ( spark plugs/coil pack gone/ leaking exhaust/ + the radio didn’t work right) I contacted James and said it’s in the garage and what needs replacing, (at the time it was just the spark plugs and coil pack) he went off to speak to his mechanic and didn’t get back to me for a number of hours by this time I had to have the work done as I needed the car for work and my garage was waiting. James disagreed with the price my garage quoted and said his would do it £30 cheaper! When I confronted James His attitude on the phone was appalling, I don’t let anyone speak to my they way he did. He told me I’ve been ripped off by my garage and that he was sick of this car, and that I had no right to decide to go ahead with the work carried out. He then rambled on saying I was boring him and he’s got better things to do than listen to me! The fact that James said the car had gone though a full service and MOT and they missed 2 corroded spark plugs, a leaking exhaust and a faulty radio it appalling, James Hancock should not be trading! they want you to buy the car and do not care what happens after you drive away, nor do they deal with situations in a polite professional manor. We have been nothing but polite with James and never demanded or raised our voice towards him and this is how we are repaid! The car has since had work done on the exhaust and radio at our expense as we didn’t want any more stress caused by approaching this man, we bought the car in April 19 and are now selling it I think that speaks volumes! Avoid BOC cars and James Hancock at all cost!

I'm a young girl who went to BOC used car sales to purchase a new vehicle. Id been looking online and come across a car I really liked so I went into speak to Chris. A couple of months later my back windscreen exploded, I rang Chris because I wasn't sure who to ring and he was disgusting. the way he spoke to me was awful. All I wanted was advise.. Basically once I drove the car away it was no longer his responsibility which is shocking! Terrible customer service.. I WILL NEVER use these again!
We went to see a Black Jaguar XJ Diesel eg GF55 HGA as advertised in the Auto trader at BOC Car centre in Bolton being sold by James Hancock.. The car is advertised an ABSOLUTELY IMMACULATE CAR. After close examination we found that this was not true. In fact it has aluminium corrosion in quite a few places, front near side wheel arch, rear offside wheel arch, bottom corners of two doors to name a few. There is also very bad scratches to the nearside front wing and the side repeater is broken. The interior roof lining is sagging badly . When we pointed this out to the obnoxious salesman, he became very abusive and rude, and started to slag off our car saying you can't call my cars, when yours is just as bad. Does he not realise people go to car sales to upgrade and buy a newer better car. We do not know why he should choose to call our car as we were not using it as a trade in. We were going to pay cash on the day for the Jaguar if it was as stated an ABSOLUTELY IMMACULATE CAR and we had no intention what so ever of trading in out car. How he manages to sell anything with the atrocious attitude that he has is beyond belief. He can obviously afford to turn down customers. Please avoid at all costs. The car has been with them for repairs longer than we have had it! Do not buy a car from BOC used car sales.
Bought car off James Hancock @ Boc cars all seemed good until money handed over, was supposed to forward on V5 and 3 months later have had to apply for it myself, was supposed to forward on rear parcel shelf (was at valeters?) And also spare key and further documentation on timing belt replacement....have not received anything and have had no response when I've contacted him. I would strictly advise anyone looking to buy a used car to go elsewhere! Car was also described as 1 owner with full service history, now log book has arrived with 2 previous owners on it so I'm the 3rd! Car not as described just hope it doesn't break down soon also was due full service week after I got it.

Don't go there !!!!!!!!! I bought a car from BOC Used Car Sales with defective steering. The dealer hasn't put the problem right and even told me to go away (to put this in the most polite way possible). Told me that the car was off site and would not me where it was. Had the get he police involved if my car was not available. Car still defective as per an indipendant inspectors report. Horrible experience- the dealer I bought the car from has supplied a car which is not fit for purpose and my family will not travel in the vehicle. This situation is not going away and is work in progress. Tba.
I bought a used vehicle for £995, 'sold as seen', so no come-backs, no warranty. Should have known. I didn’t expect it to last a long time as it was 13 years old but all the other vehicles were in the £3000-£6000 range, probably more, in the showroom but for some reason this one was parked in the car park around the back. My original assumption, given the website advert, was that this was on a par, albeit cheaper. It was a pleasant enough sale with the guys and all seemed well. However… I had to take it for a new tyre after a couple of weeks and it ended up needing all four of them changing, one of which had a split all the way round the inside that you couldn’t see without removing it, very dangerous!! “Honestly mate, I’ve not seen that tread pattern on a tyre for 20 years at least.”, said the tyre mechanic. We all ended up gathered around the computer in the shop, looking for this tyre on Google. It was unbelievable - 20 years old minimum. My suspicion is that they must have swapped out the tyres before I picked it up. All the other tyres were original 2003 tyres as well, so they were 13 years old !! Plain bloody dangerous for a family car - I can’t believe they are allowed to get away with this, which is probably why it was sold as a ‘trade’ sale to get round it. All of which was done right at the end of the sale BTW, so I was in full ‘yes, ok’ mode. Saying ‘yes’ to everything. No wonder it was hidden away in the car park. I bet he was ashamed of it and rightly so. So started with £150 bill for a full set of tyres. A week later an engine sensor blew - another £50. New battery required as well - £85. Thankfully another 4 months went by without any issue but then it was MOT time last week and it failed spectacularly. Multiple welding required, the sills had been painted over to disguise the deteriation, entire new exhaust, ball joints, still one of the tyres was knackered, so the tracking was screwed plus the timing belt needs changing. So to fix it would be close to another £800 - £1000!!! Safe to say I’m scrapping the car - which it should have been in the first place and not sold on. An absolute disgrace in my opinion.
This is the second time I have bought a car from them and can't really fault the whole experience will definitely use again
