This review is inaccurate and slanderous. The Customer purchased a 14-year-old, 190,000-mile truck back in December 2024 (just under 6 months ago). The vehicle carried out roughly 3,000 miles since purchase and was then left off the road for a while, due to the customer being unwell. The customer walked into our office at the beginning of June 2025 and asked if we could help pay for the repairs. I explained that asking us to pay for a Battery and an EGR valve nearly 6 months after purchase is unreasonable and unfair to our business, especially with the vehicle being sat around for a while and the amount of mileage it had carried out. These issues were also not present at the point of sale.. The Customer wanted to use her local mechanic for the repairs and I offered to source parts at a reduced rate to help out once the mechanic had diagnosed the issue. I did NOT at any point offer to pay for anything. At no point was I aggressive, intimidating or argumentative to the customer, this is simply not how I behave. Myself, the customer and her dad all sat in the office and had a very sensible conversation about the situation. They both left amicably and neither party raised their voices once. I have CCTV too evidence this. Customers mechanic called us 1 week later demanding £450 for the repair that he had just carried out to the vehicle. I explained the full situation to the mechanic and that his business was between himself and his customer, not with Botley Car Centre ltd. I also explained to the mechanic that he should be quoting a customer before continuing with any works. The law states that if you have a problem within the first 30 days the warranty can last up to 6 months after purchase. A battery and EGR valve is most definantly not part of this, especially with the age and mileage of vehicle. I repeat, the customer did not experience any problems until nearly 6 months after purchase. The vehicle required a battery and EGR valve due to the vehicle being sat up for a while. If a customer experiences any issues within the first 3 months then we would fix the problem (including a battery and EGR valvue) at our cost. We would also loan the customer a vehicle as a gesture of good will. This is explained to every customer upon purchase. We also offer an extendable 3 years warranty which was declined by the customer at the point of sale. The vehicles we sell are used vehicles and can sometimes go wrong. We have been established in the same building since 1981 and are a three-generation business. We sell over 40 vehicles per month and local repeat customers know how myself; father and grandfather have always treated our customers, hence returning back to us for many years. This in response to Robert’s answer to the negative feedback that was left Firstly Robert I did not demand anything for the work carried out I advice you the cost of the repairs which had been carried out was actually £550 not £450 which you refused to pay and blamed your disabled customer for everything which I found unacceptable, You did call her a liar regarding the mileage discrepancy (2000 miles)even though within 2 days I was told of another customer who had bought a jaguar off you which had discrepancy with there mileage (600miles) which you made out to you did not know nothing about it but today 18/06/25 you told me you had been driving it around? I advised you if you weren’t willing to pay for the work we carried out I would remove the parts that I had fitted and then return the vehicle back as a none runner and you didn’t give a dam, I could not let this disabled lady be without her car so I gave it back to her as a perfect running vehicle, She was so thankful With a loss to me but her happiness was worth the £550 Robert you do need to learn some people/customer skills, and stop being the victim all the time(this is business) you win some and you lose some. and be honest with your new potential buyers And then you wouldn’t have all these court case against you which you kept telling me about
The communication from Rob was very good and whilst I didn't purchase a vehicle I inquired about he was very understanding of my reasons why which were personal to me but I would recommend this dealer if they want a decent van that's presentable

A driver from this company drove in to the back of my car while I was stationary at a red light. Their vehicle is not showing as insured and the owner won't co-operate with my insurers.

Robert - I note from your response that you seem to remain confused by the concept of truth. So let me remind you of a few facts:- - I showed you a picture of the damage to the boot of my car caused by your driver. So please don't pretend that the damage is only to my wing. For clarity, Robert, the boot is at the back of the car. I would hope someone who sells cars for a living would know this. The front wing of your van hit me here initially, and also damaged my rear wing. - I was stood next to your driver after the accident when he rang somebody (who I believe to have been you) to explain accurately that he had caused the collision. You now claim to have no knowledge of his admission. - When my insurance company made contact, you refused to provide insurance details. My insurers have provided me with proof of this. You eventually provided these details after I reported you to the police. - As well as submitting this review, I also left a post on a local Social Media group warning locals about your behaviour. I was surprised by the volume of people who replied that they had been dealt with shabbily by you and bought cars that were faulty. I note this site also has a number of reviews from dissatisfied customers. You should do better.....
I would recommend this dealer to anyone. I rang almost at closing time from 45mn away and Rob was very helpful and waited for me to arrive. He was very professional but also very easy and comfortable to speak to, and knew everything about the car I wanted to see. The car is as good as he said and I love it. The whole team was amazing and deserve an massive THANK YOU!
