I took my Renault in for a new clock spring - what was supposed to be a simple hour or twos job (code the part to the car and fit it) turned into a week long nightmare. Initially it all seemed fine, they completed the work and we got the car back same day, noticed the steering felt a little heavy but thought that was just because they had to remove the steering column to get to the clock spring. But the next day, as I left work in the car, breaking system and hand break warning lights and the ABS warning light came on the dash and the steering was even heavier. The speedometer stopped working (i.e. no speed could be displayed) and the mileage displayed on the dash suddenly jumped up several thousand miles. I called RAC out who confirmed the brakes themselves were still functional so I could drive home using Google Maps as a speedometer but to take it back to the garage the following day. They also found the washer fluid cap missing from under the bonnet, and whole new fuse box had been fitted under the bonnet too for seemingly no reason. The following day we took it back into Budgens and they denied all responsibility and quoted several thousands of pounds to fully investigate and replace the ABS unit alone. They offered no help or refund for the damages they'd caused. I couldn't afford the repairs so we took the car back with the view of selling it on as spares and repairs and finding a new car. Within two days we had to scrap the Renault because the power steering was nonexistent and the whole car was lurching and nearly impossible to get out of second gear. I got less than 80% of its market value for that Renault and hadn't even owned it a year. Budgens are money grabbing, careless and lazy with zero care for their customers - DO NOT trust them with your car. I went out of necessity (because the clock spring had to be coded to the car) alone and it was NOT worth it.

To start, I have sent several emails to the service centre manager to outline my complaint and haven't had any acknowledgment or response. I have also tried calling however when we went to collect our car from the service centre the phones were practically on silent. We were invoiced £159.48 for a new battery which was completely unnecessary as we had a new battery fitted the day before the car was dropped off at the service centre. This was conveyed to the service centre in the form of written notes provided by our mechanic. The battery was disconnected at the time of handover to protect it from the parasitic load that was being investigated by yourselves. rather than charging the battery you proceeded to replace the new battery without informing us. At the time of handover we had to wait 35 minutes in the office for anyone to deal with us on a Friday afternoon we were simply told the price and handed the paperwork in a folder, we were not given a detailed overview of the work that had been carried out. we are very disappointed with service given and the lack of information provided regarding the work that was carried out and that fact that unnecessary parts were fitted and charged to us. In fact whilst we were there another customer was also complaining and asked to speak to the manager because none of the work they had booked their vehicle in for had been carried out. I will avoid this dealership and implore everyone else to do the same.

This is the third brand new Dacia Duster we have had over the years from this dealership. Always received excellent customer service & have been very happy with the cars. Just collected our latest 4x4 model & extremely happy. We have received a first rate service from Chris, very friendly and kept us informed throughout. We visited the showrooms in Telford looking for a replacement car. We were looked after by Mel of the Renault dealership who quickly understood our needs and quickly found a suitable car which we test drove and agreed to buy. The paperwork was completed with minimal fuss and, to date, we are delighted. Altogether a good experience thanks to Mel and her support.
i saw a sandero on autotrader & left a message to contact me. the next morning melanie contacted me & arranged a viewing instantly. i viewed , liked & purchased on the same day. melanie sorted everything out for me very swiftly & without any fuss , she made me at ease with every procedure . melanie arranged for me to pick it up three days later , and everything went very smoothly. in my opinion melanie is a great asset to budgen motors , well done !!

Be warned I inquired about a Dacia duster 1.5 dci , it was a 2018 plate with over 58000 miles on clock . It looked a nice car at a decent price ,when I spoke to the sales man on the phone ,Mike, I pointed out that the cambelt should be changed every 6 years of 72000 miles which ever comes first according to Renault themselves !! and if I purchased the car would they change the cambelt .he said I was fixated on this but admitted come 6 months later March 2024 .I would have to pay £600 to replace it . This is on a car valued at £8650 pounds , the point I was trying to make the sales man if cambelt snaps the car is worthless or a new engine costing thousands !! . The part exchange was insulting most garages offered me me between £2000 and £2500 for a Dacia sandero 63 with only 60000 on the clock . Budgens offered me £1500 pounds and they are a Dacia dealer !!! . At the end sales man got shirty and said he would ring me back you've guessed it. Nothing . All I am trying to tell you all out there 1.5 dici engine is 6 years or 72000 miles cambelt change or you could be a lott of money out of pocket cheers xx

Good Morning Leonard, Thankyou for your review. Asa company we are very careful with cambelts and if they need changing , we will change them. This car isn't due the Cambelt for another 14000 miles or 6 months so wouldnt have been done at point of sale but the team should have discussed a sensible solution in 6 months time that you could both agree on. I don't believe this was dealt with well enough by Mike, so I will discuss this through with him. Apologies that you didn't buy a car from us, I will follow this review up with my team.
