I put a deposit down on a VW Golf Convertible I saw on web before it had arrived and had any pics as it was so brilliantly priced. Despite asking twice over the phone I never received any email confirmation or conditions of the deposit. I asked three times for pictures before proceeding with the sale as it would be a 3 hour round trip for me and my young family to condition for viewing. I said explicitly to send pics of any damage to alloys, exterior or interior as I would expect some at the price advertised, so I gave them every opportunity to come clean on the condition. I received some photos but nothing specific to the issues. So off we went for a viewing. All four alloys had issues - Shame they hadn't told me but I can live with that at the price. Inside, the front leather passenger seat, rear seat and centre console had splattering of blue paint, they said their valetter would sort it - ok no problem. Turned out of the showroom on a test drive and there was instantly rear wheel rubbing noises and over every bump, any kind of pre sales inspection would have picked this up. On further inspection of the rear offside wheel arch, it was immediately apparent there had been a poor quality body spray to that quarter - there was paint runs and white paint all over the internal plastics of the arch, the suspension and under carriage. When I pointed it out to the sales guy, the sales manager came over jumped in with no introduction and assured me it as touch up of a little knock, when I said my wife wasn't too keen and I was nervous....his response "I COULDN'T CARE IF YOU WANT IT OR NOT, I WILL PUT IT UP FOR 1 GRAND MORE AS SOON AS YOUVE GONE AS IVE HAD LOADS OF INTEREST". So within 2 mins of returning from a test drive after waiting 2 weeks and them knowing we were travelling 90 mins to see them, THE MANAGER had completely ruined any opportunity to close a sale, broken any trust I would expect him to try to build, displayed no personal customer service and came across midly aggressive. They kindly returned my deposit and we left promptly, never ever to return to a Big Motoring World company again and happy to share our experience with as many as possible in the future.
Canterbury Motoring world were very good, I would happily go back again. The sale was very relaxed, they offered cups of tea and all sorts whilst we were there and the whole experience was simply very nice and easy.
I'd give Canterbury Motoring World 6 out of 5 if I could, they were brilliant. Everything was so quick and smooth, I went down to pick the car out and I was driving it away the next day, great car dealership. My experience was in April and from how I was looked after and dealt with I would recommend them.
My overriding impression having bought a car from Canterbury Motoring World is that I had good service. To be more specific the car wasnt ready when I arrived to collect it but they turned it around quick and actually delivered it to my house which was a fantastic and saved me another trip to the dealership. Canterbury Motoring World you have my recommendation.
I live in Newcastle and found the car I was looking for (400 miles away) on Parkers website. Arranged for a relative who lived in the area to view the car and report back. The business owner offered a six month warranty. They then matched a local (to me) part ex price offered for my fiesta trade in against a more expensive car, sorted finance and took a deposit of £250 over the phone. The part ex was offered even without a photograph of mine. They simply accepted my advising them of what I had already been offered. After collecting the car it developed and intermittent fault with the turbo and they asked me to sort a diagnosis locally, get an estimate for repair and book the car in. I did this, the car was repaired and they paid my local repairer directly via their business debit card £136. Considering the fault was intermittent and I waited for it to manifest itself before taking it in for repair three times only for it to right itself thus cancelling the booking before eventually sorting it they were happy to allow me a free hand at my own pace then immediately settled the bill before I collected my car. The owner, His manager, his sales manager, and head engineer all played a part in keeping me a happy and satisfied customer. I will happily drive four hundred miles if in two years time they can sort whatever takes my fancy then. Top marks for customer service. I LOVE my Peugeot RCZ.
Well initially it all went really well with Canterbury Motoring world. I live about an hour or so away so found the car i wanted and was very happy. I took out a warranty with them too but asked at the time because i was quite far away if anything ever went wrong could i go to another garage closer and they agreed. Well shortly after this was put to the test as my headlight went same night. Then we noticed it was allowing water to come in, know its small, first time was under warranty was covered. The second time i called i felt the impression they didnt want to help and was a little short with me about it, based on the way they made me feel once i had problems i probably wouldnt recommend them im afraid. I have still given a fair score and even a 5 for value for money
