Not really sure where to start with Canvey Carriage Company. I don’t want to bore you with an essay of the issues but main points are: 1. Did a 10 hour round trip to buy an SLK which had no petrol and hadn’t been cleaned since god knows when. Didn’t want to be difficult over something so small so went ahead with the sale. 2. Noticed straight away there was issues with the engine. Got it booked into a Mercedes specialist in my home town and established an MOT had been passed when it should have failed on 3 major issues - these issues meant the car was dangerous to drive. 3. Canvey did pay for initial work with no issue however, when we established the issues could cost a fortune to repair, TONY suggested that we accept a top level AA warranty free of charge, wait for the deferment then make a claim against the warranty. As a result of this, we returned the car, which was put on sale the following day so it’s unlikely they’ve repaid it properly. The refund was a nightmare to get out of them, as soon as they had the car back, they refused to issue a refund until the following day, despite keeping them informed of when the car would be returned. Company reported to trading standards. Be very careful if you’re buying from here people. Their MOTs are questionable and their encouragement for us to commit warranty insurance fraud was outrageous.

Bought this car from canvey carriage and was helped by Vorty in getting the finance and everything. Had some issues with the car that Vorty sorted even put rear parking sensors on for me.

Worst 18 months of my life started when i bought c5 estate. Within weeks it had a major fault so took it back. Within couple of months it happened again and again. They kept 'fixing it' under my AA waranty which i think is another story.. this went on for 18months . Got to point where actually scared to drive it as so unrealiable and broke down 8 times in 18 months i believe. Ended up cutting my loses n returning the car which they gave me pitance for and they are now selling the car again.. of course at over twice the price they gave me... i have been driving for 26 years but that car has made me such a nervous driver .. Please if u can.. go somewhere else.

Do not buy Mazda 3 yl08 gzt from Canvey Carriage Company. I had this car a year ago and it was in and out the garage 9 times. Issues were never sorted non stop oil leak. Fuel leak. Engine blew a turbo. Had an independent inspection done and it was deemed not fit for purpose and they tried to cover this up and return car to me. Had the car 4 months with non stop problems
