If you wouldn't buy from a car auction, then please don't spend your hard earned cash here either. Someone at the branch new the car they had sold us had dangerous tyres - yet they had no conscious at all and allowed us to purchase the vehicle knowing we had a 5 hour drive back home with 2 young children in the back! After a fresh MOT and 'so called' RAC inspection, there is absolutely no way nobody had picked up on the fact x3 of the tyres were in need of replacement - Infact they were in immediate need of replacement due to multiple non suitable puncture repairs and gashes in the tyre walls (which to our horror we didn't see, unfortunately like many we just checked the tread) We were told the damages had severely reduced the integrity of the tyre, meaning without doubt we had risked our children's lives driving 5 hours home!!! Absolutely sickening and could have had devastating consequences when travelling at motorway speeds! I'm absolutely shocked to the core and never post negative reviews, but this needs highlighting to others looking to buy from Carbase. Issues were raised immediately once home and they have agreed to credit 2 of the 3 tyre replacements (even though Kwikfit tyres who are a reputable UK wide tyre specialist have confirmed and produced a report showing we needed 3 replacements) But this post is to raise awareness to anyone else like us looking to purchase on the belief Carbase is trustworthy - please avoid! The car we bought was dangerous, the experience so far horrifying, and without a doubt could have been life threatening for all my family and other road users!!

DeeplyDisappointed I recently visited Carbase after placing a deposit on a red 2012 Nissan Qashqai, advertised as a 2-owner car with a full RAC inspection, comprehensive checks, and a road test. Based on this and their reputation, I expected a car in genuinely good condition. What I found was shocking. The bodywork was covered in dents, scratches, and stone chips on virtually every panel. The rear quarter had clearly had a poor-quality respray, and all the alloys needed refurbishing. The tailgate was so badly damaged it looked beyond saving, and the Qashqai badge had been stuck back on after a bodged repair—there was super glue smeared around it. Even before driving it, the car looked extremely rough—certainly not something you’d expect to see on the forecourt of a dealer asking well above market value. Unfortunately, the test drive was no better. The clutch was biting very high and was clearly nearing the end of its life. Worse still, before I even reached 20mph, the car was wobbling dangerously all over the road, and the steering wheel was misaligned with the wheels. I came here thinking that paying a premium price at an established dealer, complete with RAC inspections, would guarantee at least a decent vehicle. This car wasn’t worth half of what they were asking. If you’re considering buying from Carbase, I strongly recommend you look very closely at any vehicle in person and don’t rely on their inspections or assurances. My experience was a complete waste of time and left me very disappointed.

I recently bought a 2021 Toyota CH-R Design from Carbase Bristol on 5th June, and the whole experience was excellent from start to finish. From the initial test drive to finalising the sale, everything was handled professionally and without any pressure. We visited first for a test drive, then returned a few days later to go ahead with the purchase. John helped us at the start, Owen processed the sale, and Raj handled the handover. All three were polite, knowledgeable and easy to deal with throughout. I never felt pushed into taking finance or add-ons. Everything was explained clearly and I was given time to think things through. It felt like the focus was on helping me make the right decision, not upselling. The listing was accurate and the car was exactly as described. It was in excellent condition and had clearly been well valeted. All the paperwork, including the V5C, MOT and service history, was sorted quickly and efficiently. The process felt smooth and well organised. I would absolutely recommend Carbase Bristol to anyone looking for a used car. It is a professional and well-run operation that made the buying process genuinely pleasant.

Had a 370 mile/8 hour round trip to look at a Range Rover Evoque. The car had numerous scratches on, some being quite deep. Not only that but it was quite obvious looking at the vehicle that it had been involved in an accident as panels were misaligned following the repair. There was still shattered glass from a car window in the boot following the repair. Despite the car having been valeted it was full of dog hair in the back and wasn't particularly clean in other areas either. When looking online the car appeared to be a good price but having viewed it, it was obvious why with the amount of damage and given it had also been in an accident. We bought a similar car from our local Land Rover dealer the following day. This car was more expensive but no damage or chequered history. Regret not buying it in the first instance as you get what you pay for. The cars sold at Carbase are cheap for a reason they are cars that are rejected from main dealers as they are of a poor standard. I wish I would have read other reviews on this garage before wasting a whole day on the trip. There was no mention of any damage in the description of this car despite the marks being all around the car and significant, not cosmetic. We asked to see another Range Rover Evoque which was in stock to see if that was suitable. Again, this one had numerous deep scratches on the bodywork. When the Salesman attempted to start the car up a second time he stated that it was not possible to start it as the battery needed replacing (as it would not jump start) and the Mechanics had left for the day. 3 weeks later the car is still for sale having been reduced in price a further 2 times since we viewed it.

Very Poor Service First the Good point. I bought a car on Sunday 15 Sep 24, it failed on Wednesday 18 Sep 24. In fairness to CARBASE they accepted the return and swapped me in to a different car with the same spec within 24 Hrs. Now the bad points. Don't ever think your business is important to them, they are very poor in returning calls, polite to your face but have no interest in you as a buyer. Was told i was getting the paint protection service for free, however on looking at the final invoice and finance documents i have been charged £349 for it. Also on checking the same invoice i have been charged another £349 to be member of an owners club that i have no knowledge of! Over all i would never think of returning to Carbase and if you are be very careful in checking what you are signing fo
