Bought a Peugeot 308 with warranty cat broke down within the 1st month took to a garage to be repaired but wouldn't pay out so we paid out of our own pocket. A few weeks later car broke down again as expected wouldn't pay out so we paid again we phoned car max numerous of times ignored the calls.. love and behold the car broke down again phoned warranty to see why they wasn't paying out only to be told car max had cancelled the warranty tried phoning them again as expected no answer we got intouch with trade and standards did as they advised wrote a letter giving 7 days to reply and the ignored it so it's now in the hands of trade and standards.. should if known this as in the having there was no cover in the boot to be told they would be phoning us when in came in stock 10 months later still not arrived so we ended buying our own.. never ever would I recommend these to anyone.. car max you are a disgrace and a totally rip off Avoid Carmax Northern.

I brought a Peugeot 308 from carmax the car came with warranty which they cancelled the car had faults which I had to pay for still got faults as the car I contact them which they didn't respond what a joke these guys are so this situation now is out of my hands now as I have to take legal action.

I purchased a Ford Smax in 2014 and was told that it was given a gold warranty with the car. On my way home to Cumbria the car kept stalling so I returned it. I received a call a few days later saying that it was repaired and because of the warranty I could have the car repaired at any local garage in future. The fault was still present so I informed Car max and took it to my local dealer who refused to honour the warranty as the ECU had been tampered with and did not belong to the car. I returned the car again to Leeds and the had a injector replaced which solved nothing. I had the car inspected and the egr valve was faulty which I had replaced at my own cost as I was sick of travelling to Leeds and getting the car back in the same state. 10 months later I had to replace the gearbox at which point I have sold the vehicle after 12 months of ownership for just over half of the original cost. Worst car I have ever had the misfortune to own

The VW PASSATT was exactly as it was advertised. Unfortunately at the last minute I could not collect the car as planned. However, Carmax arranged delivery for me. I have now had the VW for a month and have had no problems at all with it.
Collected my new car today, from the initial warm welcome to the agreed collection, everything tnat was said or asked for has been done with a great deal of professionalism . Thecar isfully mot,d with all the advisories dealt with and fully valeted and warranted upon collection. It has been pleasure dealing with Tony at carmax and I am certain that should any problems occurr in future they will be dealt with , without tainting their level of professionalism. Thanks again and no hesitation to recommend carmax.
Drove the car I bought from Carmax Northern for two hours and it broke down. I was later accused of burning the clutch out, when the AA confirmed there was a leak in the engine that had been taped up.Then was accused of scratching the car...worst experience ever. Trading standards contacted...Never again!!
I recently purchased a second hand car from Carmax Nothern and i was really impressed with the service I received, the sales rep was very helpful, he took me out for a lengthy test drive so i could get a good feel for the car. He was not pushy at all, he left me to think it over. the car was fully serviced and valeted I could not ask for better.
