All went well until the final conclusion of the sale. Reserving car on-line, demonstration of the car and finance/ final sale all fine. Then we come to the pick up of the car. I could only pick up on either of two week days - first of all told only one of those days was possible as sales man who only talked finance which we didn't want would not be available on the following day. Luckily my son could make the afternoon with me to pick up the car - him driving away my old car and me my new one. We had a 4.00 p.m. appointment - unfortunately the road traffic due to the awful weather predicted I would not be there for 4.00 p.m. I rang and let them know I would be there at 4.30 p.m. - I was given the impression that would be fine and I would see the salesman at that time. I arrived spot on 4.30 p.m. and immediately saw the salesman for the final 10 minute appointment as there was no exchange of my old car, finance etc. He commented on what a smooth and quick process it was. We talked about traffic and he told me you should drive home in the light. I imagined that would be the case as it was now 4.40 p.m. But then the wait, my son and I waited and waited and waited. Customers came and went. Lots of sales reps including my contact stood about doing nothing but no feedback at 5.20 I asked why was the wait so long - I was told there were just so many customers and only two people to deal with them. I only saw one. Finally at 5.40 p.m. we were seen - I made it clear how unhappy I was and was told I just needed to wait in turn as other people had to wait too. It turned out my first appointment had unbeknown to me been changed to 5.00 p.m. and so my 40 minute wait (according to the paperwork) but in fact it was a wait of an hour plus to complete 10 minutes of paperwork and the final inspection of the car was deemed completely acceptable. I left the dealership at 5.50 p.m. in the dark - so much for the sales man's assurances when I was paying I would be away at approximately 5.00 p.m. Not one person informed me at any stage of the wait. I used Carshop before at Swindon - great service. In Cardiff it appears once you have paid your money no one can be bothered to communicate with you or apologise for what is an unacceptable wait. It also seems to me that the system of lots of people standing about as they can only sell and not help with the final 10 minutes of paper work is inefficient and not customer service! What a disappointing experience - I would not want to use this Car Shop dealership again. Cardiff - what a great city with great people but not in Carshop - Carshop you really can do better than this.
seen a car online, i knew exactly what i wanted so i booked an appointment for the following day, Aldi was great and talked us through everything, i decided to go ahead and part ex my audi a1, although there was nothing wrong with it i fancied a change. signed all the paperwork and drove the car away that day. they couldn’t give me the SD card or any paper work for the car as it was all in another branch, the lady said that they would recieve it in a few days from the other branch then send it to me which was fine, 2 weeks later and i am still waiting. as i was driving home, i live a 45 min drive away from cardiff, a notice come on the dash that i had to change the battery in my key fob, i rang car shop and they said we could either take it back and they would change it or take it to halfords and it only costs about £2, so we chose to take it to halfords and turns out it’s a lot more than £2. anyway, a few after i have the car i notice the seats in the back were soaking wet, i checked the window and it was shut tight, there was no water on the roof of the car and everywhere was dry so i found it very strange where this water was coming from, there is also a piece of metal hanging off from under my car, i phoned car shop and they told me if it wasn’t dry in a few days ring back up and they will book me in straight away for a saturday appointment (because i work weekdays) and they will sort it and give me a courtousy car while it was being fixed. a few days later it was just getting wetter, i phoned them and explained and they told me they could not book it in for a saturday, it would have to be on a weekday and they couldn’t give me a courtousy car, demanded to speak to a manager and i am still waiting for a call back. i did speak to aldi who sold me the car, he said he would speak to his manager but he was just more concerned about getting me to fill out the customer questionnaire form. very poor service from the customer service team and the after care is awful! i wish i had read the review before going here, it’s a shame really and puts you off going anywhere to buy a new car.
Really poor service by Carshop Cardiff. Fixed appt to view Car, travelled 70 miles, head office called to confirm. Arrived on time, only to be informed they had just sold car. No apology nothing. No professionalism or customer service, its all about the money.and to hell with the customers. Will avoid
The first guy we spoke to at Carshop Cardiff about the car was amazing, but waiting to set up finance it took them a month. Signed 3 times for the same car still nothing. In the end told them to forget it and went to a different dealership sorted finance picked the car up within 5 days. The car shop doesn't keep you up to date on any anything we had to constantly phone, poor service.
Paid £99 to reserve a vehicle with Carshop Cardiff. Was told it would take 2 weeks to arrive. After me calling them countless times for a month and being told the car was in the prep centre, I was finally told that the car was reserved for someone else after they took my money from me. I was told there wasn't much they could do. After a long conversation saying how unfair this situation was and that I had paid first, they said they would contact the person and tell them of the error and that I would need to wait for them to call me when the car arrives. I called on 11/11 as still hadn't heard anything and was worried about the time I had waited for this car. By this time, I saw on their website that the car was showing as sold so I had a feeling the same had happened again. Surprise surprise, they had sold the car to someone without even contacting me at all whilst holding on to my money. I was so upset by this and told them I wanted a refund. Over a week later, still no refund. I've never been treated this bad by a supposedly reputable company. Absolutely disgusting service. I honestly would pay the extra and go elsewhere. Don't part with your money as you wont get it back!
Called CarShop Cardiff yesterday 11/11/19 and reserved (£99 fee paid to reserve) the car to view/buy today 12/11/19. Drove 120 miles from Basingstoke Hampshire and for my amusement once arriving I had a lovely surprise, they could not locate the car! Also been told this is the second time it happens?? Haven’t they learn from last experience? Amazingly they offered me a full tank of fuel if I buy a different car with them, the only thing the salesperson/manager told me he wants to help me, and they have over 1000 cars in stock (yayyy). Got a similar one at a bargain £11599 (£800) more than the original car listed which I asked if they can price match, once again they could not, so basically I got a sorry and see you later. Very disappointed as I took a day off work, drove 120 miles with a friend to buy the car and pay it in full to get a sorry and see you later? Very interesting way of doing business Many thanks
I was really happy to purchasing a Skoda Octavia from Carshop Cardiff. I paid the the reserve of £99, and another £200 so the vehicle would be delivered from their Doncaster branch to the Cardiff branch. I was told the vehicle would be with them on the Tuesday. I phoned on the Tuesday but was told they didn't have it, but someone would phone me back asap. They didn't, so I phoned again. Again they told me someone would phone me back, again they didn't. This happened a third time and I was assured the sales manager would deal with it and call me back...... He didn't. I phoned the next day and cancelled the order. A definite sale lost by their total lack of enthusiasm. Because I'm so annoyed at them, I decided to phone them this morning to make a formal complaint. The manager has yet to phone me back, now there's a surprise!!! I'll be leaving another review in a few weeks to keep customers updated on whether I do get that Illusive call back. But I won't hold my breath. Meanwhile I'm still looking for a replacement. I've also emailed Quality@carshop.co.uk without success. UPDATE..it's been 4 days since the Facebook post from them saying someone would be in touch within 24hrs.... But nobody has
I went to view a Vauxhall Astra, and was dealt with by a guy named Alex Dring. Alex was very friendly, never pushy, and was just generally a pleasant experience. Would recommend Carshop Cardiff based on my experience.
Huge waits, pressure selling of other services, very poor part ex offer. Would NEVER recommend you buy from Carshop Cardiff, just awful, uncomfortable place. No petrol in car, and they simply refused to put any in
ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING EXPERIENCE WITH CARSHOP CARDIFF! I bought my car from Cardiff car shop around a ago, the car in it self has been okay, bar some minor issues. However the customer service and approach by the members of staff is appalling! I was told by the business manager John James that I will be having 2 years free mot to go along side my service plan as I was unsure about taking it out as I live in Swansea and didn't want to travel. John then offered 2 years free mot to make it worth while, so I took it. Only to find out later one was pre-paid at 19.99 which I didn't really mind, until I went back for my 2nd mot and service yesterday. I was told in the morning the mot will be free, then when I returned to collect the car they were charging me £34.99 for it. At which point I complained and the "boy" handing over my car threw his hands in the air and said with aggression and lack of professionalism "well then mr.lewis your not taking your car, unlucky". As anyone would i then requested to speak to a manager, the manager wouldn't get out of her chair and told the boy to go get someone else to talk to me. I was then taken in to a business manager who also kept repeating the same as before, not listening to my query and trying to brush it off like it was nothing, so once again I requested to speak to a manager. Then the manager decided she wanted to speak to me, after half hour of waiting and requesting to speak to her, introducing her self as the "bad experience manager" (must happen quite alot to have someone hold that title) She then stated that John was not in and that they have never offered 2 years mot, and wanted to wait for John to be in to ask him if he had offered something the business has never offered. In my eyes this is a pointless exercise as no one would admit they done something outside of company policy. Anyways the "bad experience manager" continued to fob off my complaint stating I had to pay today and it would then be investigated, if John admits to lying I would get the money back. When I asked when I will recieve an update, the response was "when I get time", an absolutely appalling approach to a customer complaint. When I asked for a day she responded well I've got interviews and other things to do next week, well as a manager you should be organised and know what time is available to handle this issue. Well the "bad experience manager" finally said I will have a response on the outcome, to see if John has admitted to lying by Sunday. As a company of its size you would expect the complaints procedure to be handled better than this. Disgusting experience. To top off a wonderful time at car shop, I got the car home last night, and when I took a second look I realised that there highly professional workshop team had replaced my headlights (on request), but removed a side light, so now I am left with 1 side light missing. And trying to get through to there customer service team is impossible. Waited 30mins and still no answer. No doubt they will make me travel 45 minutes up the motorway to get it put back in. NEVER AGAIN WILL I BUY A CAR FROM HERE. BUYERS BE WARNED, THE COMPANY ALLOWS EMPLOYEES TO LIE, AND THE MANAGEMENT WILL HELP COVER UP LIES!! DISGUSTING!
