I brought my car 14.09.19 from the car shop Northampton. I took it in today 11.10.19 at the service reception (pre booked) due to noise on changing gears. I’m told there is a problem with the gear box and may need changing. Booked in to have 2 days work on it. Pay over £5k and afternoon 4 weeks, there is a problem! This is not acceptable to be sold a car that requires work already!! I am told the dealer don’t to a test run, service check!! Any future clients, get a check done. Lucky I have a full breakdown cover Plan, so I’m covered, if this was not done, god knows what it would have cost! I would have kicked off even more... Be careful when buying. I will say the service reception was very helpful and useful. Although star rated high in some areas, this is a mixture when purchasing and at today’s date.
Disgusted is all I can say about CarShop Northampton! I wanted to purchase a Hyundai Tucson from the Car Shop on 06/10/2019. When I called the customer service team they were friendly & helpful, when I drove up from Essex to Northampton, the security guard upon arrival was courteous. However, all I can say is WOW, ALEX the sales rep was beyond rude! He was not interested in helping us at all; he didn’t know anything about the car itself and he had no interest in what we wanted to know. We were made to feel like we were a real inconvenience to his day. I explained I did not need finance as I had the money for the car, only to be responded to snidely with 'Oh that's a lot of money you have… huh!' - It was my savings, not that this should be relevant. I then asked about the car, only to be constantly told ‘I don't know or I will look on the computer’, I asked about the numerous small scratches on the car only to be told 'all cars get scratches, what do you expect, this can happen within 2 months of owning a car!' This was not my point! I then asked how many owners the car had had, only to be told ‘I don’t know, maybe 1 or 2, I’ll have to find out’ But he didn’t, he just stood there in silence; Alex told me nothing about the car, nothing about the history or the spec/technical features of the car – Basically he just stood there with the hump for some reason! I explained that I had been given an over the phone estimate about my car I was looking to part exchange, Alex didn't even ask what I had been told, he just stated ‘it's an estimate not a promise!’ We really couldn't believe his attitude; he didn't speak to us when we viewed the car he just stood there holding the keys. We didn't even get to start the engine or take the car for a test drive. When we went to his desk he didn’t look at us when he spoke to us, he just stared at the computer and replied with one worded answers, so we only got to speak to the side of his face. Every question we asked was answered with either 'I don't know I'll check' or with a shrug of the shoulders. I then asked if there was any negotiation on the price, Alex replied ‘NO!’ I enquired not at all, even for cash? ‘NO!’ all whilst staring at his computer. I then said Ok I don’t what else to say to you – Alex stood up, got his jacket and walked off! You really had to be there to believe it. Alex wasted our time and our day; we drove for 3 hours in total that day and were in the car sales place for less than 30 minutes! Do not waste your time with this company. I will now save a little longer and pay the extra to go direct to Hyundai, as I don't see why a rude, ignorant sales man like ALEX at the Car Shop should get the commission on my £15,000 plus cash sale!
Extremely poor service from Northampton branch. Over a week I have been trying to get through, on hold for 20 mins. Whilst being told several times, I would receive a call for the car to be repaired......still a week later I am waiting. Absolutely furious, not acceptable
I have read other reviews and my experience of Carshop Northampton is very similar. I am based in Manchester and therefore reserved the car for my wife via the Call Centre and paid £195 for it to be reserved and transferred from Northampton to Manchester. This is where the fun begins. The CarShop advised me that the car had arrived in Manchester two days later (great service, I thought). A day later, Manchester said they haven't received it even though I was given an appointment time to pick up the car at Manchester!?! Northampton then said that the car had definitely left their site. The Call Centre then advise me that it is at Manchester and advised me to speak to the Retail Manager and to advise him to 'have a good look around the site...as it might be hidden somewhere...' This was done and the car wasn't there (no surprise there!). Decided to speak to Northampton myself but since the 3rd October and despite leaving over 6 messages/urgent emails no one has had the decency to call me back. This is totally unacceptable and still nobody knows where the car is. I think we all have a social responsibility to keep a look out for this missing Dark Blue Citroen C1 (16 plate) as it is obviously lost somewhere.... poor car! I wish I could give this Branch less than zero. They are totally useless and my next steps include reporting them to the local Trading Standards as well as writing to their Chief Executive (who might, possibly, perhaps, take the matter more seriously! In the meantime, I suggest that you STAY AWAY!! PS - On the upside - they were very efficient at taking my money!
I buy a Volvo from Car Shop Northampton, after 1 month I have a problem, I was to the car shop garage and he told me it is the Intake Gasket what need to replace and he order the part.He pass 4 weeks and still nobody call me from car shop Northampton. I have 3 years warranty on my car.I think this car shop is a crap.

waited for 90 mins for them to say they’d lost the key after paying for car.These people are complete donughts and you should avoid Car Shop in Northampton at all costs.
Was looking to purchase a Renault Kajar for my daughter from Car Shop Northampton, wanted a 2018 model, when we found one that ticked all our boxes, a salesman went to fetch it only to find it had a flat battery, he said it wouldn't be a problem. they jump started it so that we could have a test drive. The dashboard was saying danger/turn off the engine, when challenged the rep said it's not a problem so we went out on a test drive. The warning light eventually went out. When we returned we saw the sales manager to do the paperwork and i put £200 deposit down and said we would be back the following day to finalise the payment and drive it away. We did stress that we wanted the car fully valeted, he agreed to do this. We turned up the following day and were kept waiting for 40 minutes, no one seemed to know where the car was. When they finally brought the car to us we inspected it and to or amazement it was still dirty wirh the door sills not being cleaned the boot surround was still dirty, not a very good job at all. I asked to see the sales manager and was shocked when he came out and said take it or leave it a walked away (very rude) I went after him and told him his rudeness had just cost him a sale. I cancelled the order and told him to refund my deposit. He sat there on his computer and told me it was done and it would be in my bank within a few days. I waited 5 days and no refund. I then rang the car shop and spoke to a lady who took my detais and said it would be sorted. Another 4 days passed and no refund. I rang again and was told the same again. I waited but again nothing. I tried to ring again on 5 occasions but just could not get through so I drove 105 miles to the Northampton car shop and confronted one of the sales guys, he went away to deal with it and came back saying there had been a problem and my refund would be payed within 2 days. Once again nothing was refunded. Once again I drove the 105 miles and got hold of the sales manager, I told him i was fed up with being messed about and wanted my refund immediatly he said that could not be done and it would be in my account within 2 days. I told him that I wanted compensating for all the mileage that i had incured (420 miles) he said he would get something sorted and would ring me. I have finally got my £200 back after 21 days, however i have not received any phone call, apology or compensation for all my mileage. I would not recomend the Car Shop to anyone. Very disapointed with there don't give a dam attitude. I would have been a lot happier had someone higher up would have taken the time to speak with me.
I booked an afternoon appointment at the Northampton Branch for a repair and turned up on time at the time advised by the colleague on the phone. They told me I did not have an appointment booked and said they dont know who booked it and no one is in when I wanted to collect it as the technician was on Holiday. I was not told this over the phone and no-one at the service center was bothered. Contacting customer services, they seemed blunt and rude and did not want to understand my situation. Would not recommend if you have problems with a car they sell you.
Great service from Phil Connolly, very helpful without being too pushy ( which would have put me off completely). Nothing too much trouble for Carshop in Northampton.
