I have Ford Focus from Clarkson Motors with few problems. Gearbox noise (first gear) and brakes to be replaced but they pretended that everything was fine. I had to go to two different mechanics to confirm this problems. After that they had no choice and they had to fix it under warranty. Now after a year of ownership I did not pass MOT because headlamps are broken inside (plastic clips holding bulbs ) . How it is possible they have passed MOT with faulty headlamps? Fake MOT just to sell the car ? They like to take your money and then you will have problems.

So I went to Clarkson Motors to buy what looked like a stunning looking 2009 Vauxhall Vectra good mileage, well looked after buy the previous owner!! So I book a test drive I drove 2 hours from my home get there and drive it so I hear a grind in the brakes I question this to the owner and they assure me that new front brakes have just been fitted and wearing in!! I am no car guru and take things at face value they seemed very genuine, so I have a think and decide to ask for some money off as the heater motor was whistling also they gave me my discount I was happy!! How very short lived this was so I arrive home and book it in to Halfords for a free 15 point safety check. After an hour I was asked to go back to Halfords to discuss the car I hope you are sitting down because this is long!! So I go to inspect the car with the mechanic from Halfords the front brakes and rear brakes were that worn that they snapped when taken off (photoproof can be provided if anyone wants to question this) so this cost me all new pads and discs which of the problems stopped there I wouldn’t complain if I’m honest as I drove away knowing I could have brake problem!! I fell in love with the car stupid of me So we move on and the brakes were so bad that I needed four new callipers which are not cheap to ad insult to injury the 2 front coils had snapped and needed replacing just to top it off the two front tyres were at legal limit so this bill came to £1960.00 I got it down to £869.00 due to Halfords being really understanding!! So I can all my evidence and photos and check sheet from Halfords and I contact the seller by email quite promptly I receive a phone call from a man at the dealer to discuss!! What was said next baffled me “I think Halfords are ripping you off mate” no I just want quality on my car was my reply!! So he replied “ I could have got you second hand callipers and done the work for half the price” I was so shocked by this I knew I just need to arrange a payment for some of the work as I knew all of it was a big ask!! So I ask for £300 towards the work as I said I’d pay for the pads and discs and tyres seems fair I thought he said no he would only do £200 so long story short we settled for £225 still unfair I think but hey I haven’t even got a penny yet!! So it was agreed that this would be paid by cheque to my address I have email confirmation of this from the company, it has now been 10 working days and no cheque received so I called the past two days spoke with Miya and she said if it wasn’t here by Tuesday 12 feb 2019 a bank transfer would be done before the end of the day I still have not received this money!! So why have I wrote this review I have had the car less than 3 months and needed over £1000 of work doing to it I had my children in this car god forbid nothing happened and they were safe in the car on the journey but I wrote this to warn people that at face value they do seem a real friendly down to earth for the people car sales company until you scratch the surface and you have a problem with your car and they will not keep the customer realationship you had durning the sale of the car!! Please if you do buy then double check your car after the sale Halfords do it for free I urge everybody to do this for your own safety! If anyone would like anymore details on this please comment or like and I shall get in touch with the photos or car report and prove that this is not just a bad apple customer with an axe to grind!!! Poor poor customer service!!!

I am so pleased with my new car from Clarkson Motors. It’s exactly what I wanted and came spotlessly clean. Answered all our questions, finance sorted quickly and easily and went the extra mile by opening late and checking details for us. Excellent service. Many thanks ....

....such an unprofessional company. bmw i bought from clarkson motors had plenty of well hidden faults. when i came back to them few days after my purchase I heard that i have to go to their garage in bradford where a man told me he wouldn't do it for free and that he only accepts cash. That is their 'platinum warranty' they offer. in the end of the day i had to go (and pay) somewhere else to get my bmw fixed as everything at clarkson motors was dodgy. never ever again.
