I would give zero stars if possible, I wouldn’t recommend this garage to anyone, atrocious customer service, they thought it was safe for me to test-drive one of their vehicles which the bonnet catch was broken, they tried selling me the vehicle with two bald tyres, they never advised me that the drivers side wheel arch had been in an accident! They’re just a few things from the huge list of issues which I encountered, I would highly recommend for you to check the entire car if you do buy from them, as I’m sure the vehicle will have issues which they won’t tell you about. Very dishonest company! AVIOD THIS GARAGE IS A MUST!!
Like many other reviewers here had a terrible experience buying a second hand car of Cleckheaton Motor Sales. Utterly untrustworthy outfit, Car was not roadworthy which could easily have resulted in a serious accident on the motorway when we took it home. The bit in the legislation that callous traders like Cleckheaton Motor don't want to know about (and don't want you to know either) is that under the 2015 Consumer Rights Act you are entitled to reject the purchase of any goods if they are not not of satisfactory quality or faulty or not as described. You can ask the seller to fix the problem (not something I would recommend with this company) or return the good/vehicle and ask for your money back. We had quite a job convincing the boys and girls at Cleckheaton that this was the case, but eventually got our money back. Would advise anybody to steer well clear of this dealer, but if you have already bought a car of them and have issues with it, get some good consumer rights advice, such as Which! Legal.
Bought a car off them lights didn't work rang up noone answered put txt me said they would fix the lights so I thought that's alright dropped car off with them they had it 5days in total and still hadn't fixed the problem kept feeding me some bullshit that it needed this and that I said I wanted car back on 6th day when I went to pick car up it had half of fuel left and got told off the miserable young lad running place that the repair lad would ring me back to book it in for the part it needed never rung me back still waiting on call now, I've decided to get it fixed myself and I'm going to take them to small claims court I've already been in touch with trading standards, the car was advertised as showroom condition faultless like all their motors are all they do is buy cars from auction and sell them on a kid with all costs this place should be shutdown worse customer service ever
I bought my vehicle a year ago been up and down England never had a bother so got it in at vw for the cambelt and water pump changing received a great service. That was until I drove home and a fault appeared less than 15 minutes on the road. Took back to the garage and they told us it was the coolant pump and they said it was just a coincidence that it had and electrical fault. I was told the cost was going to be nearly £400. Upon investigation I found the part only cost £70 elsewhere and they were charging £150 for this and the rest on labour. 40 minutes after they phoned they had completed the job so this meant they were charging me £250 for labour for 40 minutes work which I found extremely unreasonable especially when an hours labour is only £80. Upon questioning this they took off £105 from the bill but I was still unhappy with the costing. Upon collecting my vehicle I found the member of staff at the desk was very helpful but unfortunately the other member of staff that came out to talk with me about the work was very un professional and rude. I am not happy that I have to leave this review as I have never left a review for anything.
My son bought a car from them and they said it had 3 month warranty ... on driving home we noticed a knocking noise so had it MOT when we got home and it failed something wrong with suspension £150 To get it repaired. Tried ringing and messaging garage and they won’t answer the messages. Terrible customer service I wouldn’t advise anyone to buy a car from this company. Should be closed down treating genuine customers this way.
I bought an Audi A4 from Cleckheaton Motor Sales in December. I would love to say that I am satisfied with my car, but I can't. The list of parts which need replacing is endless. Air con pressure switch, suspension lower arms, rear lights were leaking water into the boot space (new seals were needed), front wheel bearing started making loud droning noise yesterday which also triggered ESP/ABS fault on my dashboard, front passenger brake pad wear sensor has been bypassed, now I need to replace an entire harness. Most importantly, the driver side front wheel arch started to corrode and I can tell it has been cheaply fixed my spraying some pain over it. The problem is , this cancelled my 12 year corrosion protection warranty offered by Audi. If it was left as it was, I could make a claim with Audi and get it fixed free of charge. Now I am left with hundreds (if not thousands) of pounds for the repair bill. I went to Cleckheaton Motor Sales to save myself the risk of buying from a private seller. I thought by going to a car dealer, most faults would be fixed, not covered by tin spray to maximise profit. I only drove this car for 2 months, 1000 miles and it is barely roadworthy. I was expecting more after paying £6000 for a premium car. I regret buying a car from Cleckheaton Motor Sales and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone, unless you fancy a rebuild project.
We bought a car for our 17year old on Saturday 25/01/20 and had to take it to ourselves to get tyres fitted as they said they was too busy! We then collected the white corsa 64 plate from the tyre place and Sunday morning and began the ride home to york ... on the motorway the power went and engine light on and stopped!!!! My husband managed to drive the car back in limp mode and we asked for a refund, to which we was told they couldn’t and we would have to wait for the manager !!!!! Well that was not acceptable and the so called sales man are so so rough and not customer focused and was not bothered about our situation.... I decided to tell all the customers I could of our situation to enable them to make an informed choice before they bought and luckily we paid on our credit card and my husband has stop the Payment and Barclay card have reassured us that this will be dealt with via them now!!! Please please don’t go near them
Cleckheaton Motor Sales is the worst car dealership in the UK. Congratulations if anyone has purchased a car from them and it has lasted more than 6 months. I bought a VW Polo from these 6 months ago, now a complete write off. Ignored the initial issues the car had and repaired them at my own cost. However when a dealership sells you a car with a tampered engine that completely destroys it, that is a different story. Extremely dangerous and scary now knowing what I know about the condition the car was sold in. However that doesn’t make a difference to these guys, try to have a conversation over the phone or email to discuss a reasonable outcome but they only do customer service over text messages apparently. Safe to say the texts from them were less than caring, despite the “first class customer service” they claim they provide on their website. Don’t trust them on their sales pitches, service history or car history. You do not know if this is true. Anyone looking to buy a used car don’t go to these guys. It’s like playing Russian roulette with your safety and life.
Got a Vauxhall insignia from this company. And had nothing but problems from day 1. Drove it home oil leak, then all the coolant went im 100% sure they sold me a car with a cracked head gasket. And all the cars have 60,000 on the clock! Yeah yeah. The only thing good about this place is the valating side. Never buy a car from this place unless you want a wash. Mark york
Cleckheaton Motor Sales advertised car and I placed a deposit based on advertisement. Travelled from Dublin to find that the car was far from advertised and basically a heap of junk. Dealer refused to return deposit and I found the overall experience well below what I would expect.
