Went to view a car advertised on website and autotrader. Called a day ahead to make sure it was still for sale etc and that I was going to view. Drove almost 3 hours to view a car advertised as £2995 and 60k miles, got there and was £3995 for £67k miles. Tried to start up but wouldn’t because of the battery, because, like most of the cars there, had probably been sat for months. Then when it was charged back up it had an engine fault. They claim their cars are “showroom quality” nothing showroom about it, the cars are tatty and worn and staff are unfriendly and rude. No doubt the cars will cause more trouble once you buy

We bought a car in March we’ve had problem after problem from brakes to engine, exhaust you name it . The car is now not road worthy and never was by the sound of it . Save your money these people are selling dangerous car and should be shut down . We are seeking legal advice

Bought a car off these chancers for my daughter to be her first car. Didn't expect it to be a money pit. When we got the vehicle they told us the radio wasn't working but they'd fix that, and to be fair they fixed it for long enough for it to work on the drive home. They gave us the usual spiel about extended warranty, and as it was the daughters first car I thought I'd get it for her, for her peace of mind. Cut to 9 months later when the car is having issues and apparently they aren't covered by warranty. So far we've had to replace a shredded V belt, something that should've been noticed on any mot inspection (which apparently they had done for us out of courtesy), replace the battery, replace the alternator, the rear brakes were ceased so needed fully replacing, the rocker cover was lose, causing an oil leak that lead to much of the things needing replacing. Now I understand this could happen at any time, and it's a 14 year old car, but to basically say to us, "not our problem" is a poor way of dealing with it from Cleckheaton Motor Sales. I could never recommend anyone going here for a vehicle unless they are in total desperation, and only then if they had tried everywhere else.

Bought my daughter a Peugeot 208 from this garage, communication quite poor to begin with. After asking for car to be MOT'd finally got a call to say it was ready and had passed. Picked up the car on Saturday and by Tuesday afternoon it had broken down. Took the car to a Peugeot Specialist garage who informed us that basically the car needed a new engine. Had to pay £350 to get the car back from Bristol where she lives back to the garage, they did give a full refund but said that there was nothing wrong with the car. Would not have left a review but now have seen that the same car is back for sale. I do not believe that these problems would have come to light within the 28 day period had my daughter not driven the car home to Bristol and then they would not have had to give a full refund. Avoid, they are aware that they are selling cars that are not road worthy.

My daughter bourght her first car in March and my dad paid £300 for the extended warranty,( not worth the paper it’s written on) It “apparently” only failed mot on wiper blades!! Fast forward a month and we’ve had to have 4 new tyres, and tracking done. We’ve also had to take it to another garage as it’s making a noise which has turned out to be suspension, rust and corrosion. Can you get in contact with anyone??? Can you heckers like. Absolutely disgusted with the service and treatment or should I say lack of it!!!! Do not buy from these cowboys!!!!!

Stay away.. I recently had a very bad experience when we bought a vehicle with potentially dangerous faults. After running up a bill with our trusted garage, we ended up getting a full refund as the fault could not be rectified. (The vehicle also went into their recommended garage who failed to correctly rectify the fault). The warranty they sell for £300 does not cover diagnostic work so was worthless in this case. They are very unapologetic when you have a problem and couldn’t care less about customer service - I witnessed several other people returning cars with faults, this just seems to be how they operate. The car we returned was straight back up for sale and has had two further keepers in six months and is back off the road again. It is true that there is no pushy sales person but it is also true as soon as you need to complain they are very hard to get hold of. You need to be persistent and do your research, I have not heard a good thing about Cleckheaton Motor Sales since this experience. I have also seen 5 star reviews online which have been done by their own employees! If you do buy a faulty motor you have more rights that you might expect. Contact the Citizens Advice Bureau who will advise you and will report them to Trading Standards.

I bought a car at the end of August from these and it’s lasted 6 months before I’ve had to scrap it because of all the problems. Bearing in mind I drive 5 miles a day five times a week so it’s not like I’ve been doing thousands of miles a week. Waste of time using these
