If you own a Volvo avoid Clive Brook Bradford at all costs. I drive a 2018 Volvo XC90, which having moved from driving Audi's I had great hope for up until I took the car into noted dealer for a service and emissions problem. From dropping the car off the service was dreadful with the service desk person rude and completely unhelpful. However the worst part is I reported an emission issue with the car (emission light showing), which I was told was a pipe coming off the turbo and had been repaired. Drove the car away, parked it and then came back to it later, the emissions light came on again. Took the car in for second time, told again it had been repaired, however there was a dreadful smell of emissions coming into the cabin of the car. In the end I rung Volvo On Call, who sent out a generic breakdown person who confirmed the car could not be driven. It was taken to Clive Brook Bradford (on a weekend). I had no call to tell me what was being done, whether I needed a car, etc. Called Monday evening left a message saying, 'your cars ready'. I went to pick the car up on Wed morning, again completely incompetent service desk, I was told, 'the person who organised it isn't in, I can't tell you what's been done...', apparently I was going to get a call, still waiting for the call. The keys where given to myself and I went to the car, it was blocked in from all sides, hadn't been cleaned and I was left to ask for the cars to be moved. To date I've had no call to apologies for the faulty repairs that led to emissions coming into the car, nor a call to explain what happened. IF YOU HAVE A VOLVO DO NOT USE THIS GARAGE, THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS NOT EXISTENT, AND BASED ON MY EXPERIENCE THEIR WARRANTY REPAIRS ARE FAULTY. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID.
To start with, I bought a brand new 2019 Volvo S60 T5 R-Design that was delivered in the morning of 25th October by a staff member of Clive Brook Volvo Bradford. This member told me that he hit a lamppost just in my front door (I guess he wasn’t using the camera or the rear PAS to reverse) so there was a scuff in the rear bumper (see picture 1). He said that his manager from Clive Brook Bradford will call me that morning (he said “about 10” o’clock) to arrange the repair of the bumper. After 13.00 and without receiving any phone call or message in my phone, I texted him and he said he would speak with his manager in the branch as he was a few minutes away. Again, after an hour, I had to phone the branch to speak with that manager. The manager in Clive Brook whose name was Neil, told me he would phone me on Monday to send an expert and have a look at the car rear bumper. Throughout the week commencing 28th October, I phoned (as he didn’t phone me not even once) about 7 or 8 times and only once I was able to speak with him on Wednesday; he said he will contact me again two days later for next arrangements what he didn’t do. The week after I was still waiting for the phone call so after another 12 phone calls to the branch telephone and a mobile number, on Friday I was able to speak with another “manager” (that is what I was told) who said I will get a courtesy car on Tuesday 12th November while a member of the staff will collect my Volvo and take it to the Volvo dealer in my town to exchange the rear bumper for a new one (as I told him the damage was not only in the paint/outer layer and it was a little more deep so after all those days and with that damage, I wanted a new rear bumper as the damage was not my fault). The surprise came up when on Monday I tried to contact that member of the staff or a manager in there, neither one nor the other one knew anything about that Tuesday arrangement (after calling 8 times again). So once more, I spoke with another manager that confirm that either him or another manger would phone in the morning on Tuesday 12th November (that is 18 days after the car got delivered… 18 DAYS!!). To be honest, it has been pathetic to phone (for example) 6 times on the same day asking for a manager or someone to fix the problem. A problem created by a member of this branch; it seems they do not realise that it was not my fault. I bought a brand-new car, obviously without any marks or scuffs. Probably they will not read this but honestly, be very careful when dealing from this dealer. It might be that I was just unlucky but the customer service is being outrageous and this is from a Volvo dealer, a premium car manufacturer with expensive cars. They really need to look into this and find a way because that is not the way to build loyalty from the customers and being a car manufacturer building beautiful cars to fight with German rivals, customer service is a key point to get more and more customers as a beautiful car helps but it is not everything in the premium sector.
This is the third occasion that I have taken my Volvo back to Clive brook every time they have either broken something or left the car in a mess. I had it in for a two front springs under warranty they suggested I needed discs and pads yes for pads but no for discs. Anyway I got the car back then the ABS and the ESC failed also the cruise control failed and it takes three attempts to switch the car off. I called them to help firstly they were really defensive and unapologetic the same attitude as every other occasion. They suggested I call breakdown recovery so that I could get another car presuming I had this policy. They sent a text staying I needed an MOT so I took it to another garage for the MOT it failed on the springs so I checked if they where under warranty which they where but the chap at Volvo asked why I was having an MOT as it was due in 4 months, it was bloody them that told me I needed it. So my car had failed the MOT it was dangerous and now I need to take it back to them to fix their problems! Also every time I get the car back there is dirt and oil on the cream leather car seats. There is never an apology or any reasoning, terrible terrible terrible! I wish I never bought the car from them.
From meeting Florence until uplifted new vehicle communications were good. Very fair in price of vehicle & trade in value. Also Andrew & Paddy input. Highly recommend Clive Brook Volvo.
Recently purchased used V40 Cross Country, at Bradford. New to Volvo, therefore new to Clive Brook sales. Have never looked forward to changing my car and having to deal with the 'norm' in the car retail industry. Have walked out of a few garages over the years. What a totally different experience this time. Customer service matched the precision and engineering of the vehicle purchased. Absolutely delighted. Fab-u-lous! Highly Recommended. Please note - In review - issues not resolved quickly as there weren't any!!!!
Cilve Brook cars were very attentive, everything as described which leaves a very good impression when you are buying a car. When i was told things were being done they was, when i went to pick up all was on time with no delays or messing around. Overall a very good service and Volvo from Clive Brook
