UK Motors / LS Automotive Watton / DFC Cars - all seem to trade off the same site. Absolute cowboys, avoid at all costs. Cars will be sold as MOTd, roadworthy etc. but beware - they'll cut every corner possible to get it roadworthy enough to be sold, but you'll soon get problems which any competent garage will point out where they've fudged it to get it sold. Any call back for after sales help / service will be met politely at first, but they wont do anything to help, and eventually they'll start hanging up or not taking your call. Just AVOID

I purchased a car through another website I had to pay £140 for the car to b delivered with a 3 month warranty the car was delivered to me which they drove all the way down which was 124 miles away I went on holiday the next week and on the way home on the motorway I had no clutch I managed to get to a services then stopped and stuck there just a week before I got AA breakdown thank god for that I contacted DFC Cars cars and they told me to get the car to them which was over 300 miles away not at the garage I got it from but another garage hence the long miles I decided to get the car home and deal with them after I phoned them and it was the master cyclinder to the clutch had gone thinking it was not under warranty so took it to a garage in my own town until I got the bill of £950 it was not just the clutch master cylinder but the clutch fly wheel needed replacing and bits and pieces relating to the problem they said they would pay for the remaining parts but have to get the car to them got it quoted and it came back at £325 and they would drive it back but no money if I wanted to pay for the car that much I would off the garage I took it too were disgusted that a car was sold not road worthy so I had to borrow the money of my parents who r pensioners to pay for the bill dfc cars says the car should not b sold with warranty as it was a part exchange and also no spare wheel or wheel brace still waiting for them to deliver it all their concerns r they sold the car and they do not want know they are a disgusting company and should be struck off trading hope this helps to anyone DO NOT BUY FROM DFC CARS- PLEASE TAKE HEED.

So I done a simple check online to see what the likelihood of passing for finance.. It came back as low but did I want to apply anyway, I said no and carried on with my day. Then at the end of the day dfc cars called me to say ,we have seen on our systems you done a finance check I said yes but it came back as low so there is no point in applying, then man then said no on our side it's came back with medium he said we can apply for u so I agreed and Gave all my information about myself over the phone.. Bank details where I work etc etc.. Then he said right we have all the information we need we will put this through and ring u back with a response from the finance company. Half an hour later he called back and said you have passed.. I was so happy and excited with this news I arranged the next day to travel 2 hours to sign all the paper work and take the car away.. Got there signed the invoice to say I had brought the car that day NO FINANCE INFORMATION WAS GIVING TO ME AT THIS POINT. So I gave my lovely new car a quick look over and a test drive to realise after driving it for a 4 min drive it was smoking under the bonnet.. Dfc cars was helpful at this point and said we will fix it and u can pick it up another time, so I agreed and off I went home. Dfc cars then phoned me the next day to say the car was fixed and that it would be ready for me to collect the following day. So the next day we made our way for another 2 hour trip to pick the car up and sign the rest of the forms.. Walked in and the guy gave me the keys and I said is that it? Don't in need to sign the finance paper work plus the log book over to my name? No he said we do it all online.. Okay I said and off I went for the 2 hour drive home.. On that awful 2 hour drive home the engine light came up and the engine was failing was pulling backwards and forwards even reving on it's own.. I just about made it home. I called the garage and they said to take it back to them for more repairs I was so angry at this point and I felt like I wanted to pull out then it suddenly dawned on me about the finance, where is the paper work? So I tracked down the phone number for the finance company who then told me the finance wasn't in my name.. How is this possible? I caller back dfc cars in watton and asked them what the hell is going on they said well under the files on the system it has my name but when they click on it it has someone else's name with my bank details and work details.. Again I asked how is this possible? How an earth can a finance go through and by the way the finance has already paid out for the car but how an earth has this been done.. The persons name that was on there had signed for the finance.. So I done some background checks and traced this person down and asked them he didn't no a thing and he for sure did not sign for a car on finance. So he did sign for it???? Now dfc is asking for the car back and for now I am sitting on it.. Its not road worthy with this engine fault I am not driving it another 2 hours drive just to hand them there stupid car back. How Im looking at this is dfc cars is frauding people.. They are signing documents in other people's names just to get rid of dodgy cars.

Hi 8 weeks ago I bought a car form the same company[ trading under a different name , it has many defects, but on trying to return it it just gave up on me, and I had to pay 125.00 to get it to their garage, and they are now trying to say it is my fault as the oil was low, we only filled it up yesterday , before we had our local garage check it over, who told us to take it straight back to them and ask for refund, It has a massive oil and diesel leak , several other bits , which by their own admission was done by a dodgy m o t man in their own garage who they said thye have now sacked, and when we got the car to them today health and safety people had been there for 4 hours, Anyway they said they would only give me 1000 back of the 1400 and they wouldnt give me it until after 14 days which they wanted to check it out, so I now have no car and am 125.00 lighter , any advice please, they are trading under 4 different names , 3 of which are the exact same address and the other one is in O xford!

Andy Jary in response to Having to take them to court!

Dreadful!!! Disgusting Outfit who shouldn't be trading!!! I bought a car from DFC Cars that had a pre-existing fault as per service records and had never been fixed. Drove this heap off the forecourt - with my children in it - and it broke down a few miles up the road. Loads of black smoke and multiple mis-firings. When I asked for my money back, since the goods were of unsatisfactory quality and not fit for purpose, they said they'd fix it and wouldn't refund me. I was furious, this was clearly defective when they gave it to me. There was even water coming out of the exhaust indicating a possible head gasket failure! Nobody sells a car in this condition that's already broken. If it had broken down a week or two later, then fair enough, but not right out of the forecourt. If you want to avoid losing your hard earned money and a load of pain, then stay well clear. If they reply to this with some pathetic excuse, then I'll put the whole case up here for all to see what I've been through.....

Bought my wife a mini from DFC Cars and on the journey home it broke down. Had it recovered the rest of the journey and phoned them as soon as we got home. They said that we had to pay to get the car back to them which was a 112 mile journey at a cost to us of £150. They said that they'd repair the car "gearbox and engine failure" so I told them that i'd be booking the car in to a BMW main dealer on return to check work had been undertaken and from that point forward they've ignored all phone calls and emails. Ive demanded of full refund and at this point "5 weeks" are STILL waiting our money "3000". Trading standards are now involved and they have just 4 days left to return the money or face court action. This is NOT what you'd expect from a company "any company". Personally I HOPE that they DON'T pay the money within the time frame and that it goes to court because if it does then and only then will these scamming idiots realise that can't treat people like this and they'll have to pay far more than the £3000. Stay away at all cost.

caroline payne in response to Stay away

These "people have garages all over the place , I recently bought a car form them which dies on me after I booked it into my local garage because of the noises it was making, He said it is remarkable that the engine hadnt gone bang, which it did on the way returning it to them , They promised to pay me the 125.00 which it cost me to get it there, and never did, We have been there 4 times in the last 10 days , they called the police on us twice, because we refused to leave, I have never ever , know an outfit like these, I had to call police on them because of intimidation when I first went there alone,I am 62 years old , so no spring chicken, they stood and laughed at me and put 2 fingers up to me and my daughters, also saying that my daughter needed a f--- slap! Please avoid these !

Rejected vehicle at point of delivery due to it being in awful condition and it had a gear box leakage. Dealer basically posted the keys through my letterbox and said it was my problem. Absolutely appalling.
