My son bought a 16 reg corsa from salesman ian. Was great experience from word go. We had a good look round etc and ian got the ball rolling. He worked with us while we waited on money coming in. Car stunning on collection

Bought 2 cars from John, Citroen C3 Picasso and Suzuki Alto. John was professional and courteous throughout even gave us a decent deal on a clapped out 04 Zafira. C3 has been driven extensively for a month now including up to Kilmarnock twice; no issues at all. Alto found there was a hesitation in accelerating, phoned up, car booked in, dropped in at garage, went to Tesco for weekly shop. Upon return new spark plugs fitted hesitation gone. Again car has been well tested post purchase driving up to Central Belt, lovely drive. Nothing but praise for the team at Downsway. Will not hesitate to return if right car on forecourt.

Downsway Garage did a service on my car with an mot, I got the car back and asked for a receipt and my service book back, 18 months later I'm still waiting, rang the garage today to find out what was going on and the bloke on the phone hung up on me (ian) I wouldn't use this garage ever again and will be taking it further!

Its not very often i respond to negative reviews but in this instance i feel i need to.This mans vehicle was brought in to our workshop by his friend (Martin) who was working for us on a part time basis and wanted it done for "mates rates" ?.Was brought in on 03/05/2017 and was serviced (using genuine manufactures parts)and motd and Martin returned the vehicle to his friend same day with invoice and MOT. So in order to pay an invoice a customer needs to have a copy which said customer had ,After many times asking Martin when his friend would be likely to pay the outstanding bill it was finally settled on 08/08/2017 three months later for a non account invoice.We are a small independant Garage and do not offer three month terms.For a non account invoice it is payment on collection.All in all Mr Davies called me two weeks ago demanding his invoice and service book which Invoice he had, and as for his service book his Friend Martin should have stamped and returned it with vehicle,Mr Davies called again yesterday again with an aggresive attitude to which i hung up.Lesson learned dont do favours. And as for Mr Davies PAY YOUR BILLS ON TIME. PS The amount outstanding was £314.38.

I bought a 6 year old car from Downsway garage, looked good, seemed to run well before purchase, in light of only road testing it that is. To realise a cars in and outs I think it takes a good few weeks to see. Saying that the garage provided a 3 month mechanical failure warranty to the value of £500 to put me at ease, which is after all why we buy cars from garages rather than private sellers – the after care comes at a cost but should help if anything goes wrong. First set of problems arise within 2 weeks of purchase. Mould growing on the off side rear window inner seals, saturated inside when it rains, steering noise, braking noise. Took vehicle to garage, spoke to Ian, showed him the mould and other problems, he agreed to order and fit the seals for the window and to look at the rest of the faults, my vehicle was booked in for a few days later. Dropped the vehicle off, I was called a day later told the car is ready, went to pick it up, to be told that nothing is wrong, nothing was ordered, nothing was fitted, nothing was checked, on top of that the roof of my car was scratched up by what looks like someone using it as work bench for tools. So I still have mould, I still have steering noise, I still have brake noise and now I have scratches. Second set of problems arise within a month of purchase. Clutch judder and clutch drag. Again took the vehicle in to the garage. I was called the next day, told that three people have driven the car and they can’t see any problems. What a surprise, no problems. I must be imagining it all. At this point I realise that nothing will ever be done and all it will be is me taking my car back and forth, wasting my time, wasting my money and all I will get is the same answer – there is no problem. Watch out for this cow boy outfit of a garage, you are playing car lottery and the tickets cost a hell of a lot more than the euro millions. You have been warned.

This young Chap (mechanic to trade)purchased this vehicle more than 18 months ago 13/06/2018.and thorougly inspected it and test drove it more than once before he made the decision to purchase the vehicle .After haggling wanting discount because he was a mechanic and was in the trade we reduced the price by £400.About a week later he calls me to say there was mould in the window of the car i ask him to pop it in so i could take a look, he did and it looked like moss had formed on the rubber seal of the exterior seal of the rear window,i agreed to book it in to have a look and to order a seal if need be, vehicle came in next day and we cleaned the seal and inspected the interior of the vehicle for any water ingress car was as dry as a bone,customer collected the vehicle and left. A week later email from customer stating there was a noise coming from steering, the brakes and that it was pulling to left, books him in for next day for us to inspect the vehicle for faults,our mechanic who has over 40 years experience inspects the vehicle and road tests and no faults were found,called the customer to arrange for him to come in and go on a run with our mechanic to identify the noises and faults customer failed to answer my call, then emailed to ask if his car was ready,i mailed him back to invite him to come and go on a run with our mechanic but instead sent his sister in to collect the car.A week later another email stating the car was suffering from clutch judder and clutch drag,books it in for next day our qualified and experienced mechanics both test drive the vehicle and find no faults i myself drive the vehicle and find no faults,again i invite customer to come in and go a test drive with our mechanics to identify the problem,again he sends his sister in to collect the car.about a week later another email which was quite offensive stating there was scratches on the roof of his vehicle that were not there before he brought it in,again invited to bring it in for us to inspect he declined again.With regards to the RAC warranty we provided with the vehicle it is for mechanical breakdown at which at anytime had this vehicle not broke down,the warranty is also recognised by any VAT registered garage so as the customer can take there vehicle to a garage of their choice.As to the customer removing the gearbox on his driveway and finding the listed faults and then suggests the vehicle was not worth fixing and states it was not worth keeping, it seems odd to me that it has since went through a recent MOT with no faults issued and is currently road taxed so is obviously still being used.Please bear in mind this has taken Michael over 18 months to compose this unjustified complaint and i find some of his wordings offensive and derogative.Downsway Garage has been established for over 20 years and sell over 250 cars per year which the majority are all supplied with RAC warranty. Also to become an RAC Approved garage you need to be inspected every three months by the RAC and vehicles which are offered for sale are randomly inspected by an RAC Engineer in which this customers vehicle was subject to such checks and no faults were recorded.If Michael reads this reply i would strongly urge you not to use offensive wordings as you may end up in the courts on a slanderous claim.You have been warned.
