Misleading Warranty Bought a car from them 6 weeks ago and needed to use the warranty. The service department called me back to book me in, all going well until I was advised about the £75.00 plus VAT non refundable diagnostic FEE - what! Basically not worth the paper it is written on. Be careful!

Avoid at all costs!!! I purchased a 2015 Q5 2.0 tdi with 60k miles on from these 'dealers' at the beginning of January 2022 and oh wow, what a mistake that turned out to be! We were the perfect customers, we didn't want a trade in, knew what we wanted and paid cash.... that's where it all started to go down hill! We paid for the RAC breakdown cover as we had traveled some distance for the car and we was told that we would be covered as soon as we drove away. We paid for their valet, when we test drove the car we found sweet wrappers in the ash trays, we didn't say anything as we wasn't too concerned as the car would be valeted before we collected. On collection, they were still there and the backs of the seats were stained. We were too excited to stick around so made our point regarding it and left. Within a couple of days the engine management light came on and the car went into limp mode, we got the rac out who said the egr was faulty and wasn't working. It would need replacing. So we phoned the RAC warranty department who quickly said that the fault is likely to be pre-existing as its only been 2 days since we purchased it so they would not warrant it. We had to take it back to eddie wright. We arranged for the eddie wright to collect the car but It wouldn't be for a few days. Between the egr valve fault and them collecting the car it began throwing other faults. We had only covered just over 200 miles yet the oil light flashed up and the mmi was telling us that the oil was empty! I phoned the dealers to question the service that I'd paid for as it couldn't possibly need oil so quickly! They were adamant that the service had happened as they had receipts for it. So anyway, I took it to my local mechanic who filled me up with oil and sent me on my way. That night the led headlight stopped working on one side on the car. I took a photograph of it to send on to eddie wright so they could see the issues. The next day the mmi began playing up and wouldn't play music. A couple of days later and with the oil showing half full eddie wright came to collect the car for investigation. They contacted me a few days later to say it was ready to collect and that the egr had been replaced. I collected the car and the oil was again full. Unfortunately the service manager wasn't at eddie wright's when I arrived so no one could answer the question about the other faults. The next day I set off on holiday to South Wales and then onto Cornwall. Less than 200 miles into the journey and the dpf light came on. I attempted a forced regeneration following the guidance but that didn't work. Stopped the car and turned it off then on just to cancel the light. 100 miles later and the oil light was back!!! Another litre of oil to bring it back to full and off we went. I emailed eddie wright to ask about the faults and the fact that it was using so much oil only to be told it was OK and they would look at it when we get back. Throughout the week it needed another 3 litres of oil! We covered 1200 miles that week and I knew there was something seriously wrong, the regular puff of blue smoke coming from the exhaust strengthened my thoughts along with the dpf light coming on day after day! We returned home on the Sunday and first thing Monday morning we took the car back to eddie wright for them to investigate. During this time I did my own investigations and contacted audi direct to ask about oil consumption. Audi told me that the tolerance on a car like that would be 1/2ltr every 621 miles so the fact this was doing 1 litre every 300-350 miles was saying that it had a serious mechanical fault. A mechanical fault that would only be diagnosed by a full mechanical inspection as its not an electronic fault so won't show any codes. A couple of days later, and with me still being within my legal return period, eddiewright contacted me to say they had found the issue and there was a leaking seal in the turbo. I told them at that point that I wanted a refund as the car was faulty. This is when all the lies started. They phoned me back stating that they had looked online in forums and found that these 2.0ltr engines were prone to oil consumption so there was no fault. Fortunately I'm not green behind the ears and refused this as it was diesel and not petrol. I asked if they had checked with audi on consumption figures and they hadn't so were going to go and speak with them and contact me back. I said that would be great but I still wanted a refund as they had stated the fault was the turbo to which they quickly back paddled saying they couldn't find a fault. They went away and after 2 weeks of me chasing them, they came back stating that audi had told them the oil consumption was right so they are refusing me refund and that I would need to come and collect the car. They stated that as the car was showing no faults, then there were no faults. You can imagine my frustration building!!! I wrote to them, following legal advice, giving them notice that the car had been returned within the 28 days and that I wanted a refund. They ignored every letter and every email, they didn't ring me nor did they return my calls. This was 7 weeks of eddie wright ignoring us. They left me with no alternative option but to contact the bank and begin a dispute as I'd paid by debit card. The day the chargeback landed on their desks , was when all of a sudden they contacted us trying to be all friendly again! They were asking me for the history of what had gone wrong as a previous employee who had been dealing with the case no longer worked there. Fortunately for me I had taken lots of photographs, date stamped, time stamped and with GPS location it was difficult to dispute what I was stating. But they did! They took the car to audi for an independent check but never did the oil consumption test. The result of that was that the the car actually needed 4 new discs & pads and bushes replacing! But still they said the car was not faulty and provided a photograph showing the oil level was full (remember when it was only half full when I returned it...) they claimed to have driven the car for 300 miles testing it and again provided a photograph of the mileage, they didn't think that maybe I had done the same when I returned the car and what they had actually done is put 1000 miles on the clock whilst they've been driving my car around! What a legal battle this turned into!!! All I got my lie after lie. I was promised the earth and all i was delivered was dirt. I even question the mots that they have done as it came back with no advisories yet after 3 weeks and 1200 miles it need new brakes all round and the bushes are done in! 7 months later and after reviewing all the evidence i had gathered in the impeccably strong case that i had put together, Visa have issued a full refund & the car is back up for sale......... A disgusting service, lied to and ignored. Trust me when I say this, if I could give zero stars I would! I would honestly avoid this place at all costs!

I brought a car from them, a 10 year old / 108,000 mile Range Rover, in the words of the salesman, they don’t normal sell cars of this age/mileage, but it is such good condition. The salesman pushes the RAC Platinum warranty, as confirmed by other reviews on here, for "Peace of mind". These cars have a bad reputation for suspension/drivetrain issues, TBH and fair, the warranty helped sell the car because of these known issues. Paid a deposit and Eddie Wright also sorted out some other bits on the car. Came back during the week after work to collect the car, paid the remaining balance, when they put the warranty through on the system, RAC rejected it. So, I ended up buying a more expensive, less covered “Gold” warranty. The salesman showed me the RAC comparison sheet on the two warranties and the bits I was concerned about were still covered. At this point I should have walked away, difficult when car is ready, you have paid/made your mind up and late in the evening. In hindsight this was a little bit odd, considering the Platinum warranty is just for cars under 10 years old and the salesman would have known this 20 months later and only 8,000 miles, the car starts juddering violently on the Motorway. Took¬¬ it to a local Land Rover specialist and the cause identified as front nearside top & bottom arms/ball joints and broken anti rollbar link, all items specifically listed as covered in the warranty. The bill is £400! The garage tried to claim under the “Peace of mind” warranty, the claim got rejected saying these items are just wear and tear, because of the age/mileage of the vehicle and therefore not covered. I complained and they escalated it. The escalation team rejected it for the same reason and in their words, they cannot envisage a situation where ANY claim on this car would be successful and in their view, I have been mis-sold the warranty and need to go back to Eddie Wrights. Basically, any claim they would say “Wear and Tear because of age/mileage” and not covered. Contacted Eddie Wrights to get my money back, and after a serious of missed promises on returning calls / not responding to emails, which added to more stress, finally got the answer from Eddie Wrights, basically not interested, in their view I haven’t been mis-sold a warranty. Laughable they can say this, considering my experience. They did then say any further issues, bring it to them, but I live 45 miles away, the car would be broken and the warranty said local garages I am now £1200 down, worthless warranty, open to large bills in the next 16 months, absolutely no peace of mind and now have the stress and expense of spending years going through the various bodies to get my money back; automotive compliance Ltd, ADR Group, financial Ombudsman, The Motor Ombudsman, FCA, trading standards, small claim courts, etc. I will be getting my money back, just unfortunately need to do it the hard way and people need to know this before buying from this dealer

Bought one of their Cars for over eleven grand. Warning dashboard light driving away from their Showroom.Had to go to Main Ford Dealer to get it fixed. It seems the car had previously had a Puncture that had been repaired with a Temporary Fixing Kit.( Slime). It was sold to me in a Dangerous Condition. Unaware of this we had been driving on Motorways at 70mph. We might have died using the Car like this. So far the cost to us has been over £700 and we have had No Re-imbursement in spite of the fact that they assured us they would cover any repair costs involved. It’s over six months now and we are still waiting…..Customer Service at its worst !!!

Eddie Wright Car Supermarket Review I purchased a 2017 Volvo V90 from Eddie Wright Car Supermarket in January 2022. I was impressed by the varied selection of vehicles and thought the prices seemed fair and competitive. I had travelled up from Kent so had approx a four hour drive. I called up on a Friday afternoon, nobody actually answered the phone. Saturday morning I thought I'd travel up to view the Volvo at Eddie Wright as that looked the best online (compared to other cars I'd seen), failing that I had another one to view on the way back home. I needed a car that weekend as my old 2004 VW Golf kept playing up and was becoming more and more problematic. Got to the dealership to be told “you should have called us so we could have got the vehicle ready for you”. Er, I tried...Nobody answered. Not great first impression. I had to wait for a while whilst they got the car out from where it was located on the premises. Viewed the car, liked it, found a few issues with it (broken trim, rattling speaker in the door and a cracked rear light). Pointed these out and was told I'd have to get them rectified myself by the salesman and to let Eddie Wright know when I'd had the work completed to get this reimbursed. I was told that on that day Eddie Wright could not do anything if I wanted to take the car away. Not great, but otherwise I liked the car. I asked to go on a test drive and was given the keys and trusted to go out on a drive by myself. Not under pressure, nice. Brought the car back, mentioned the few issues I had with the car (mentioned above). They then told me that as the car only had a couple of months left on its MOT that they would put a year's MOT on it for me. They have a workshop on site. They did the MOT (which I wasn't charged for) whilst I purchased the car – more waiting on site. They make you take out a policy with the RAC for some additional warranty. I had to tax it at the dealership, on their computer – they wouldn't give me the V5 to allow me to tax it myself on my phone, which I would have preferred to do as it is more secure. You end up paying about £700 more than the advertised price as they have an admin charge and the warranty on top. I declined the paintwork protection (GardX) that was around £500. Taxed the car, called my insurance company up, got the car insured and then just had to wait a couple of hours whilst they gave the car an MOT. All in all I think I ended up waiting for about four hours. Not great. Purchased the car, had to fill it with fuel and drove back home. All was well. I took the car to my local Volvo dealership to get the issues diagnosed and rectified. Took the car to the dealership at the beginning of February and had to wait about three weeks until the car would be worked on. I had to have a new speaker (that was the rattling in the door, that somebody had tried hide by applying glue), new rear light (by now this was starting to let water in), new trim piece in the rear of the car (the drivers seat belt wouldn't retract and somebody had been inside the seat belt mechanism and had got it tangled up and in the process broken the trim piece -a safety issue) and a new trim piece on the rear bumper. All together with the parts, labour (Volvo dealer labour prices) and VAT the bill came to £956.88. It's now June. The car was worked on in March. I still, despite calling Eddie Wright a few times and sending letters on their website am yet to receive any money back. I've been told by the dealership that I need to speak to somebody called Steve who is their Sales Manager but whenever you ask to speak to him the phone either gets put down or Steve is always with a customer or Steve happens to just have a day off. I wish I had as many days off work as Steve. I've tried to be as reasonable as I can and only ask for the money back for parts (£566.28. Most of this was the rear light) – I've even offered to send the receipt to Eddie Wright so they can claim the VAT back on this. They just don't seem interested. It's such a shame and let down to an otherwise decent car buying experience. To summarise, typical dealership. Nice showroom, lots of selection, happy to help you whilst your purchasing a vehicle but afterwards they don't seem at all interested and the aftercare leaves a lot to be desired. A shame really and as such I will not be visiting this dealership again – which is their loss as I'm into my cars. By all means check the vehicle over and have all the work completed before handing over any money, if you can. If you cannot wait then I would suggest taking your business elsewhere. I'm done trying to fight with this company – that's why I've held off for a while with leaving a review.

At first I looked on the Web page for the car I was interested in and found the site informative and easy to navigate. Went into the showroom and got a salesman that was straight to the point no BS just let me look and test drive the car, I didn’t feel under any pressure to buy but got all the information I needed, very east going experience, I bought the car and the aftercare went smoothly and was very professional, even to the point of an email about my appointment to pick up the car. If you’re looking to buy a car I’d recommend
