Went to the Evans Halshaw Blaydon branch in hope to sell my car to them, all was well until the salesman was about to go on a road test in my car, when I advised him that I had an insurance black box fitted, and to please not drive it too hard, I was then told I was “disrespectful” (and that he was a “professional”) for showing my concern. When he returned he told me the valuation was a quarter of the quoted price online, it goes without saying, I left after that!

I visited Evans Halshaw Blaydon on 14/5/19 to view a car I’d seen on Autotrader. The salesman was very polite and friendly and arranged to have the car brought to the front of the showroom for my partner and myself to view. I immediately noticed the boot panel was misaligned obviously due to damage caused to the rear drivers panel. I pointed this out and the manager came to have a look. He then tried to tell us the back spring needed adjustment and it would be fine. My partner pointed out this wouldn’t sort the problem as this would merely affect the boot line. The manager claimed he had 20 years experience and he knew best even though my partner pointed out he is a mechanic. The manager then showed childish behaviour throwing his arms around and storming back into the showroom still exhibiting childish behaviour telling another salesperson the story. This behaviour is totally unacceptable from a person in his position. I pointed out to the salesman that sometimes the damage can.be worse behind due to impact. Needless to say we left without looking at any other cars in stock. I won’t be visiting again as I certainly don’t like their practices.

CAR OWNERS BEWARE. Do not take your car for any service or repairs at Evans Halshaw Vauxhall Blaydon. The garage have no respect for your property. I had booked my car in to this garage for a vauxhall recall. Had arranged to have the car. Collected before 10am as my wife and an appointment to make. garage texts me with a 9am appointment and on the day rang at 9:25 and confirmed that it would be collected before 9:45 turned up at 10:10 to collect the car wife missed her appointment. So I complained about this and They Accused my wife of swearing at the collections driver. My wife doesn’t swear even on a bad day. I got the garage to stop all work and return my car. Came home to find my wife up set. SO TO THE BEST BIT. I view the dash cam footage to find two mechanics using me car as a service vehicle to jump start another vehicle and that they unclipped the dash cam to hide what they were doing so as the dash cam was pointing down you can see that no seat cover was put on my leather seat and one of the mechanics was sitting on the seat with his work ware on. TOTALLY A DISRESPECT FOR YOU PROPERTY

Outstanding help from both Reay Willison and Lyn Gibson . I have been a customer since they opened in Blaydon and in the past Kevin Rowntree has always been so helpful. Sadly Kevin recently left the dealership and I was left wondering how things would continue in his absense, as he is a hard act to follow. I shouldn't have worried as a business is more than one person. Sincere thanks to Reay and Lyn, plus all the Evans Halshaw team at Blaydon.
