I bought a brand new vehicle (Vauxhall Crossland X Elite) on 6th March 2020 (drove it out of the showroom) after having it only 2 months the car broke down on only 460 miles with a message saying engine fault repair needed, I accepted the repair and everything seemed OK but on 25th March 2021 the car broke down mid drive again with the same message my 3 and 4 year old were in car and we had to be pushed to safety! Vauxhall collected the car, the next day I had a call to say the car was fixed! To my surprise on 28th April 2021 my car broke down again with a message saying engine fault repair needed! I had my children in the back of the car and my mother in law in the front on this occasion, we were very lucky the lorry behind us did not go into the back of us! I called Vauxhall they informed me to try and drive to the service centre, I managed to start the car up after about half an hour, after arriving to the service centre with my mother-in-law and 2 children they adviced that there was no fault code stored and handed me back the keys. I refused to drive the vehicle after the issues we've had which luckily I did as on the Friday the service manager rang to apologise and said I'm glad you left it here the engine management light has come on today! They repaired the ECU which apparently was faulty but my car broke down again on 9th May 2021. Once again they took it into the service centre and advised there's nothing they can do as there's no fault showing! They are not willing to accept my refusal of the faulty vehicle or even swap the vehicle unless it is at trade price of £11,250 even though the car is faulty and unsafe! I'm now stuck with a brand new car parked outside my house which is not fit for purpose! how they expect me to put my children's lives at risk again is a joke there's obviously a problem with the car! after paying £21,095.00 we were hoping this family car would last for at least 5-10 years! I would really like to make other people aware not to purchase from them as they do not care about the safety of their customers!! I'm now having to pay solicitors fees to take them to court!! They are not even a part of the motor ombudsman "the business you are in dispute with is not currently accredited to any of our Codes"

Awful service all around, was misquoted on a new Corsa. Geoff the salesperson gave us a figure based on £0 deposit but failed to realise it was with a £2000 deposit. This wasn't a case of we got our wires crossed, we went in great detail though a package and he got a simple fact wrong. We arranged a Saturday morning test drive with him, we got to the dealership to be told he wasn't in and was 'with his kids' the Salesperson there Richard was completely uninterested with us and said 'we've just opened' it took almost 20mins for him to print a piece of paper for quotes, we were told multiple times he assumed it was just a test drive and did not expect us to want to confirm car and had no information. He called Geoff to ask about initial quote as he could not find our details and blamed Geoff desk organisation. We left Saturday with the understanding Geoff would call us first thing Monday after talking to Vauxhall 'to get some more money off car' but we had to chase him, and was finally told the quote was the quote and that was it. Not very apologetic, didn't seem to care at all about us being given the run around. I mentioned we where annoyed that he wasn't available on Sat as we could have come in another time and they just do not care. Weren't friendly on arrival on either visit, so different to any other dealership where you are greeted with salesmen overly helpful if anything.
They failed my car on its MOT for dangerous brakes front and rear and tried to pressure me into getting the work done there and then. Took car elsewhere for second opinion and told there was plenty of life left in the brakes. I would avoid Evans Halshaw for servicing and MOT as they can't be trusted.

Bought a ford (likely stay away from f9r in future ) only 3.5 years old has clutch judder they tried saying if they strip it down I'd likely be liable through wear and tear etc i had the car just 4/5 weeks only noticeable when warmed up so not something u spot on a rest drive so after I had a good moan I had a new clutch and flywheel after the car only done 15k miles then the stereo (Bluetooth option ) wasn't now working so rebooted after Xmas then they sent it to ford who fixed what Vauxhall broke just needed an update etc and the heated windscreen was intermittent half screen worked only at times so waited for some time for them to get the order in as each time I phoned they said we will order your screen ....not sure which time they actually ordered it done now though just the whole experience was one of my worst ever buying a car I know a few colleagues are now telling me they have had issues from there and one current on his audi tt that is making a noise they can't pinpoint better 9ff private
Well nothing went wrong with my Vauxhall Astra SXI, the car was exactly as described and i havent had any problems at all. Most car buying reviews seem to praise car dealerships for fixing things when they go wrong, im writing this review to say how well they got it right first time at Evans Halshaw Vauxhall in Cardiff, so to me thats as good as you can get really.
