Let me tell you a story about a man who was very excited to buy his first car... He was told to go to an official dealership so that he would avoid as many of the well known problems with buying a car as he could, and was advised that Hyundai were one of the more reliable car brands. He came away with a £9.5k car that had only done 9500 miles and he felt great (ignoring the "only" rate of finance being 13.9% which is nearly double the rate you'd get somewhere like bigmotoringworld). Three and a half months later, it broke down in a public multi-storey car park (so was unrecoverable by the breakdown cover they provide you with the warranty) having only done 700 miles, costing him a princely sum of £13.57 per mile driven. He would have been better off getting an Uber everywhere he drove that car (and that excludes my own petrol and insurance costs!) When he phoned up to see if he could get it booked in for someone to look at it (in August), he was told that there were no appointments available until NOVEMBER and that he was better off going to a private garage. Not to worry, that's why you get an extended warranty! At least then, you only have to deal with the inconvenience and they'll cover the cost of something like this happening. Sadly also not true.... Apparently one of the parts that broke wasn't covered by the warranty (which makes it even more alarming that the car was sold to him in this condition) and the response he received from the dealership was that "you are encouraged to read the warranty documents and they tell you what is and isn't covered". So if you do decide to buy a car from Evans Halshaw (he shouldn't have), and you decide you want the warranty (it's not worth the paper it's written on), then make sure you know every single part that goes into a Hyundai so that you can check to see whether it is in the list of covered items or not. Another excellent feature of the warranty is that they dictate what the labour costs should be, based on what their internal labour costs are. These obviously differ from a private garage, but they won't reimburse you the full cost of the labour, despite the fact they don't have any realistic availability or interest in looking at your car themselves. The service throughout this process was appalling. He got passed from pillar to post from person to person, none of whom were actually interested in helping him and were about as unhelpful as they could possibly be. He had to ask the warranty people three times how to raise a complaint, before they finally provided an email address. He was then given some copy and paste waffle from the complaints team and told to go away (a special shout out to Anya for that one). The only person who really seemed to care was the guy who sold me the car, but he didn't have the power to help.

Bought my Vauxhall grandland x in January 2024,paid a thousand pounds extra warranty ( piece of mind) as I'm a foster carer/ grandma have toddlers in everyday & need reliability, I do alot of driving around. Sold by sales assistant Avaies & sales manager Hasan . In June 2024 a problem occurred & got worse,took to Wakefield & I needed an instrument panel( I knew nothing of the expense of this part)£12/1300 fitted! And guess what not covered by the warranty! Few complaints, e mails, wrong telephone numbers given ,ignored & fobbed off over & over & still here & nothing! So gone higher & complaints procedure, still nothing ( I will add Hasan never replied to me but Avaies did many times & was as helpful as he possibly could. Today for the first time I needed a new tyre,went to the garage to find out they've not left me a wheel locking key when I've purchased the car! So can't remove the tyre i rung up to be told its too late it's Over a year & the phone put down on me! Absolutely the last straw I'm absolutely disgusted with their customer service & aftercare.Not just £10,000 for a car but £995 extra warranty for a major thing to go wrong less than 5 months later & not be covered! what a farse of a company. I shall be shouting from the rooftops telling people to stay well clear! Shame on you evans halshaw Hyundai Leeds! I was so excited buying a newish car & driving away happy,not anymore!

I took a 48 month deal out on my Tucson, 24 months in and 2nd service complete in January. £340 a month and an engine management light came on mid February. Disappointing to hear the earliest this could be reviewed was March 27th. No budging, Wakefield Hyundai got me in March 5th and identified a potential fire risk and have my car the last 2 days. Considering it was felt acceptable for me to drive with an engine management light on for 6 weeks while my car was a possible fire risk? Opened my eyes to the level of customer service here.

Sold me a 2nd hand car for over 13K. Just had a 5 month service (inside statutory warranty of 6 months) the cost was £1230. New breaks, shockers and more. I'd done under 5k miles. I have a very reputable mechanic who told me there is no way this level of damage could have been incurred in such a short time. EHHL did a service however, before selling, and it met their standards. Something doesn't stack up! Needless to say, they don't want to know. Draw your own conclusions.

Just purchased our new Ioniq 6 from Hyundai Leeds. Andrew made the buying experience simple, understandable and honest.
