This is the worst experience have ever had in 40 years of buying cars, I purchased a Mercedes 68 plate with 151 miles on the clock from Evans Halshaw Vauxhall Wigan, the SD CARD to run the sat nav system was missing ,and i was promised a replacement ( cost of these cards are around £490) after weeks of phone calls and emails they said they sent it but to the wrong address, (lost in post) i was promised it would be replaced, and it was with one from Ebay costing £35-50, after complaining to the show room manager and then to the garage principle, i was fobbed off with every excuse , this was a very poor service and the customer care was shocking. after 3 months they closed my complaint with not even an apology . One thing for sure i will never use this garage or Evans Halshaw again , IF you use this garage get everything in writing because they fail to deliver on promises

It’s a shame there is no choice to rate zero stars ! I purchased a car from Evans Halshaw Vauxhall in Wigan on the 22nd of September and picked it up on the 25th of September and by the 12th of October there was a fault coming up on the dash board and the car juddering really badly ! I went straight back to Vauxhall and explained what was happening and how the car didn’t feel safe .... they said there systems was down but they would give me a call as soon as the system was up and running and get the car booked in . By Monday the 15th of October I hadn’t had a call back so after 15 minutes on the phone with no luck of getting threw to anyone I decided to go back into the showroom ! The system seemed to be up and running and no apology as to why I hadn’t been contacted to resolve the issue with the car ! Apparently the next available date to sort the issue with the car was the 6th of November which I wasn’t happy about however because the fault kept coming and going I didn’t feel it was a massive issue I would just have to use the car as little as possible until the car had been sorted ! By Friday the 19th the problem with the car had got 10x worse and really didn’t feel safe at all so I rang to speak to a manager to complain that I don’t feel I should be left without a car after only purchasing it 2 weeks prior .... apparently there was no manager available to speak to but I would get a phone call back by dinner .... I waited till 3pm that day and had not received a phone call so I rang to speak to head office . The lady on the phone was really helpful however explained she had to give 48 hours to investigate what was going on and why I hadn’t received a phone call etc (fair enough I understand these things take time ) Monday the 22nd of October I received a phone call from head office to say they still hadn’t received an explanation as to what was going on and why they hadn’t contacted me ! She then passed it onto a director apparently which then came with another 48 hour period for investigation ! It is now the 24th and I have had to ring for an update to be told no contact by the directors or Vauxhall Wigan showroom � absolutely terrible after care ! Not bothered in the slightest if you have an unsafe car ! And can’t be bothered to ring you back ! I understand faults happen it is a second hand car however after spending 6k on a car you don’t expect to be without a car after 2 weeks due to faults and then be told it will be another 2 weeks before the car can be looked at ...... I would advise everyone to avoid this garage like the plague.

During the process of purchasing the car I couldn't have been more pleased with Evans Halshaw Vauxhall Wigan. The sales person was friendly knowledgable and couldn't do more to help. The sales team here are fantastic. However the problems then began. Every time the car is due for a service, I receive several calls pushing me to book a service. Each time I politely declined then went to a reputable and reliable local mechanic. The team at Evans Halshaw Wigan then take my log book and then reactivate my lifetime warranty. This year was different. I have just had my service after the service light came on and sadly the light could not be switched off by my usual mechanic. I have just had the pleasure of paying £50 for Evans Halshaw to reset my service light. If you are buying a Vauxhall please ensure the mechanic completing your service has a GM/ Vauhxall tech 2 diagnostic tool then you can avoid the unnecessary charge. My mechanic had 2 different scanners but Vauxhalls tech 2 is the only one that can conveniently clear the service indicator.
