Fairdown car sales are an absolute credit too the used car trade. Great to do business with, a good range of quality stock in great condition. Would definitely buy from again.

Would not recommend buying from this garage. The vehicle should never have been given an MOT and was not in a safe roadworthy condition. I have spent in excess of £600 putting the problems right and also endangering mine, my families and other road users lives. On test driving I wasn't happy with the brakes and was promised they would be replaced. When I drove off the forecourt the fuel light was showing. Not a great beginning. I had nothing but problems with the brakes and lots of front end noise. When braking the steering wheel was like holding a pneumatic drill. I had to replace the front brakes, one problem solved. Was informed the tyres were low and illegal so off to tyre centre and a further £200 spent.. They picked up a further problems. The first being the rear near side drum, one of the bolts was so worn it was slipping in the hole and had been like it apparently for a very long time, so a further £220 spent. They also picked up the fact that the strut that joins onto shock absorber was barely bolted on, thank god the guy there found it and sorted it FOC. Still the front end noise was there which turned out to be front wheel bearing. If the car had been checked and serviced properly as well as like I was promised new brakes fitted before I took ownership of this vehicle the other problems should have been picked up. As for the tyres it doesn't even mention on the MOT the remaining depth of the tyre tread. Well I wonder why that was !! I feel absolutely sick that these people could sell such a dangerous car and let someone drive off in it. It's disgusting. In 40 years of driving and owning cars I have never had such a bad experience

Had a great experience with this garage. Very helpful no pressure sales from their salesman and the car was prepared quickly for me . The price was very reasonable compared to other local garages. Had a minor issue with the car a week after purchase and it was dealt with really quickly for me and without fuss,even though it was not covered by the warranty was fixed free of charge Would definitely recommend. It was nice to get a good service - Fairdown Car Sales exceeded my expectations. I will definitely go back to them again and would recommend them to anyone

I bought my car from Fairdown Car Sales in January 2015, and was given a new MOT on it, was fine for 4 to 5 months, then started having problems. A trip to the garage after hearing a knocking noise revealed an anti roll bar problem, £134 later and with the car back noise still persisted. A further total overall check has revealed many more problems that should have been picked up at the MOT stage when we initially bought it, nearly £1,000 worth of work required to put it right, should never have passed the MOT with some of the problems, which should have been evident then. Have been advised the car is not roadworthy, and the worrying thing is we have had our grandchildren in the car. Now avoid using it where we can and take public transport, walk or rely on lifts, and in the position of having to look for another car. Avoid as garage owner has pointed me towards VOSA and was not very helpful at all.
