I have bought five cars over the years from Fairlands Car Sales and they have always been honest and helpful, you have to factor in the cost of good aftersales, when I had a problem before, Tony has always said come and talk to him if you have any issues and true to his word he has always sorted it, I have bought cheaper cars from other dealers and when a problem arises they are not interested, I would recommend buying from Fairlands for peace of mind alone as we all know what a minefield used car buying can be.

Bought the car March 2016.There was a noise from front called dealer and he was very polite and asked me to take car back so he could check. He checked the car but the noise which was intermittent did not happen. He spoke to main dealer and discovered that the gearbox oil was due for renewal and agreed to pay half. This cured the fault and the car has been fine since.I have bought many cars and this is as good as it gets

When I brought my car from them,I though it was Fantastic! I would of recommended them to everyone, 3 months down the line, I've had to have new brakes pads/disks, an oil leak and now there is a leak in the radiator! buying my first car from them has been a nightmare, and when my mum came down to the garage about the brakes, They really didn't care that they were on the metal and DANGEROUS, my mum was told "quite a few miles left on them" which was totally rubbish, also I was told by them that the car had a service, which I was told when I paid to have another done as I was worried about the car, that it hadn't had a service at all as the service light was still on. Do not buy a car from Them , as this has totally taken the joy out of passing my test and buying my first car, which I had saved very hard for!

tony from Fairlands Car Sales in response to Laura

i'm very disappointed at the customer comments, 3 months to the day it was a Saturday i received I phone call from Laura mother saying a mechanic was there servicing Laura car and the brakes had gone and the was not serviced and there was an oil leak from a switch, I was surprised at the accusation, she was shouting and accusing me of all sort of things, immediately offered to do the brakes and said that the car was serviced and the MOT was done at the point of sale no mentioned of any advisory on the brakes, she point blank refused to bring the car to us, so as good garage that we are I offered to pay for the brake parts and the oil switch could please she bring the original invoice I said. on Monday morning she came with the old parts and a piece of paper demanding £170.00, I said the parts only cost about £60.00 why £170.00 so again said I need the original invoice, to my surprise when I inspected the old parts there was not hing wrong with the pads or the brake discs I immediately phoned her to explaining the facts, she replied the mechanic said there were gone, still I said to her I will honor the payment of the parts, while I was waiting for her to give me an invoice I received a nasty letter from her still on about the brakes and now she had a water leak and a bad smell in her car we immediately phoned her and explain about the payment of the brakes still waiting foe the original invoice and offered to do the water leak free of charge, she phoned back before the car was due in and said the boyfriend fixed the leak it was a loose hose clip, never the less i said for her to bring the car for us to check just in case, when she came she said she was satisfied with the car now it was just the smell, so on my own expenses I brought an air conditioning air vent cleaner plus I give her £100. towards the brakes even so she never produced an Invoice, she left a very happy person few days later I phoned her to find out about the car and Laura mother left me a message that all was OK. so why she would write such comment I'm totally shocked. The facts: We reduced the price for her, we serviced the car and a new MOT she never contacted us in the first place, we paid for the brakes that were never gone more then if we replaced them our self, paid for the oil switch, paid for air con. cleaner please can Laura kindly explain to me what else can I do?

After part exchanging a ford focus for renualt espace a little under a year ago I have had noting but problems.should have walked away when they said that it would take a while to prepare the car the were putting a new stereo (this was not new looked about 20 years old and is s**t)in it and it needed a new key as the spares would not work the central locking when we did eventualy get the car two weeks later there was a very loud nocking noise coming from some were under the car I took the car to a local garage as I was told by Fairlands that it was probably the drop links they phoned me about an hour later saying that there was about £500.00 worth of work that needed to be done to make it road worthy (sold with one years MOT) there was a wheel nuts missing from one of the front wheels a wheel hub needed replacing bearings needed to be changed and the drop links . I was told that the would fix the problem if I left the car with them I had a phone call about a week later asking for a contribution to the cost I said that I would cover the cost of drop links and nothing more as it was sold with a years mot when we got the car back I was told that every thing that the garage advised was fixed and that I should be happy as I had £500. of work done for £100 however about two weeks later the problem had come back only worse so we took it back and I was told to leave it with them and it would be taken to a Renault dealer to fix the problem properly I still do not know what was actually done as I have just had to have the 2 front tyres replaced as they had both worn out on the extreme inside edges these where both new at sale I was advised to get the tracking checked the garage said they had never seen a car with the tracking that far out I have spent £200.00 on tyres and tracking. no expert but bearing all of the above work was on the front wheels I cannot see a Renault dealer leaving the tracking in that state about a week ago and have got into it today and the steering power steering has completely given up and there is oil every were so I would think that the steering rack has gone turbo pipe needed replacing not long after the warranty expired costing £300.00 parking brake light now coming on every now and then also gearbox problems showing up as a fault. if you ask me not very good at all and would not go any where near the garage again.
