I purchased a Mazda CX-5 from Forge Autohaus. Shortly after leaving the dealership, the vehicle broke down and was no longer driveable. I contacted the dealer and exercised my short-term right to reject the vehicle under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. I requested a full refund and attempted to resolve the matter directly with the dealer. Unfortunately, the refund was not paid as agreed and the matter remained unresolved despite further communication. I was therefore required to take legal action. I subsequently obtained a County Court Judgment against the dealer. As the judgment was not complied with, I then had to take further enforcement action to recover the money owed. My experience was extremely stressful and involved considerably more time and effort than I would have expected when purchasing a vehicle from a professional motor dealer. I would recommend that prospective customers carry out thorough checks before purchasing a vehicle from this dealer and make sure they are comfortable with the dealer’s approach to resolving issues should something go wrong.
