Unfair business practice; bad customer service. I had a misfortune to encounter dealings with Fort Used Car Center in February 2024. I have driven over 120 miles one way to view the car, and kept in touch ahead of my travels with their sales agents that the car was there. I made it to there on Saturday and had to wait untill they moved a brocken car blocking the garage entrance before I was able to tast drive the car I wanted, which wasn't going to be a huge problem, especially if I didn't call them hours ahead to say I m coming to view and test drive a particular car. All it meant by the time we came back the shop was closing at 17.00 pm leaving very little time for negotiations and making not rushing decision. So we shook hands with the manager on mutually agreeable price and my commitment that after sleeping on it I will be ringing then next day to pay the deposit over the phone which I did. The deposit of £250 has been taken on Sunday, so I though how great! - I now reserved the car I wanted and can rest from my search and just wait for it to be prepared and handed over to me on agreed date. Well, unfortunately this was not the case with Fort Used Car Center. 3 days later they emailed me to say they sold the car to someone else. To say I was disappointed is to say the least, but I understand that they probably did what they thought was the best for them and sold it for higher price then we agreed, disregarding their contractual commitments and my consumer rights for fair treatment. As the dealer withdrew from the contract they entered with me by taking reservation deposit for the car, in order to address this unfair approach I asked them to return the deposit plus the equal amount to the deposit to compensate me for the inconvenience of caused by them walking out of the contract. Sadly they have blantly rejected my claim, nor they have returned the deposit and ignored several of my calls and emails, for which I am not entirely surprised as it's the company demonstrating unfair business practices and appalling customer service. All in all, based on the experience I had my recommendation would be - If you don't want to lose your time, deposit and more so the opportunity of getting the car you think you have reserved - stay away from Fort Used car center.

I bought a car from here and straight away it started rattling badly Took me two weeks for anyone to deal with this and return the car to be sorted. In this time I’d had another mechanic look at the car, I was told the catalytic converter had gone. The garage had my car made me wait 3 hours and was spoken to rudely, they said it was a link ? What link ? Was never told what this link was. Straight away again the rattle was there in picking my car back up. Took another 3 weeks to get it returned again and this time they agreed it was the catalytic converter. After 5 months of having the car more problems, I contacted Nick at the garage and he was not interested as it had gone over the 3 month warranty, but I had legal rights if the car had been purchased under 6 months. The clutch went completely and I broke down. Not a nice experience. I phoned Nick and was obviously was all over the place. He did not care and said there is nothing I can do and it’s not my problem. How thoughtful and nice. I explained the legal rights I had but again did not want to know, he just said it’s wear & tear. Just to mention I had put very very little miles on this car. I got advice from another mechanic and legal advice and both agreed it was not wear & tear, it was a clutch fail. After sending endless emails and proof to Nick, still nothing. It has took me 5 weeks of battling endlessly with this garage to accept they are at fault for selling yet another poor quality car. I had no car for 5 weeks and the stress this has caused me has been awful. Thy started at one point to do the clutch, but I had to pay, unbelievable. I refused due to knowing my legal rights. I am so glad I dug my heels in as the clutch has finally been done by them at no cost to me. It’s been a battle believe me. The garage had their legal team involved who also told them they needed to get an independent mechanic to inspect my car, this is when they decided to not get the independent mechanic as they had to pay for this and it was then that they said they would do the clutch as it was pretty obvious they were at fault. Katie who took over from Nick was lovely and helped but as for Nick, well I’m disgusted how he treated me and made me feel. Fight for what you are legally entitled to. I am so glad I did.
Terrible organisation. Bought a car and agreed a pick up date. Due to their poor organisation, I eventually picked the car up two weeks later. The car had engine lights on and needed a new clutch. When I eventually picked the car up, the engine was rattling and the clutch was stiff. I took it back to them and they had to order a new part for the engine. I picked it back up and had to drive to Shropshire the next day. On the way to Shropshire the clutch stuck to the floor and the car rolled onto oncoming traffic. I just about survived but had to get out of the car and manually pull the clutch up to move it our of the way. I called the Ford used car centre and they said to bring it straight in. I did so and proceeded to have the most stressful 45 minute drive of my life for fear the clutch would stick again. I got it there and asked for a refund, as is my right, due to the vehicle being faulty and due to having a near death experience and my wife telling me my 3 year old son would not be allowed in the car again. I managed to catch the owner of the company after being told that he did not speak to customers. He confirmed that they did not 'do returns' I left and called trading standards, who informed me that it was my legal right to receive a refund and that I needed to send a letter to request this. Before I got chance to send this, I noticed that my car had travelled 110 miles, due to the tracker I had in place in the car for my insurance. I called and asked why this had happened, they told me it had been taken for a test drive, I asked by who, they told me Lawrence, the sales manager had. taken it. I asked why did he drive it from Birmingham to Leicester, why did my car stay there for two days and why was it driven by the sales person and not a mechanic on this 'test drive'. They could not answer this question other than saying he had driven it home and then was on a day off so bought it back t.wo days later with thr car sitting on his drive Stay well away from this organisation please. It looks like I'll be having to take them to court to get my money back!!! Andrea and Prince were very helpful throughout but unfortunately they can't help me in this situation. Steer well clear of this business. I have attached the proof that it was driven out of hours by the sales manager Lawrence to his home in Leicester where it remained for two days before he drive it back without my permission or even notifying me.
Left a deposit on a car I said I would have anyway deal didn't go through do not and I repeat do not leave a deposit with these guys because repeated phone calls to Patrick saying it will come back to you 12 days later nothing you have been warned unless you are 100,% sure yo are having the car I will be paying a visit to here if it's not paid back in next few days and I won't be alone and having a few acquaintances or let's say they are people you don't mess with they will wish they had paid it back, this seems the only language fort used cars understand.
Utter con merchants. (AA approved clearly means nothing, don't be conned by that idea, like i was). Their promises mean nothing. Avoid!

********BUYER BEWARE******** 2nd complaint to Patrick at Fort used cars Patrick, Since you have not bothered to have the decency to reply to my emails containing the photographs of my Range Rover breakdown last Thursday 2nd February you leave me having to raise a second complaint. :- list of issues -bald spare tyre -satnav not working -TV not working -gear selector switch failed -rocker cover gaskets leaking badly -radiator expansion tank leaking -handbrake cable stretched and worn to excess -rear brake shoes worn to minimum level -remote control key fob not working -cloudy headlights -loose indicator lenses Now the alternator has failed. Are you seriously trying to tell me this is a good car? I’m absolutely disgusted with you and your car. The whole process has been deplorable and no shine or satisfaction has been achieved with buying this car. I’d like at least a confirmation from you regarding this email by 1700 Monday 6th February or I’ll copy and paste this complaint onto Google reviews with a “buyer beware” warning. I’d like to hear a suitable solution to this.

Well the sales men when buying the car are typical best friends BUT THE AFTER CARE is tge wirse espeacially trying to sort the faults as The gtee there always faults we had upteen problems with it i suggest if you brought the car on finance they be able to sort it out as we had to get them to sort our problems out they disreguatd the buyer NIGHTMARE COMPANY
Want advice on Fort. Walk away. Don’t go near them. If you want to buy a car go elsewhere, anywhere, but don’t go to Fort.
We bought our car from this dealer and one thing I can say is the sales gentleman that helped us (John Pham) was really great! Would recommend him anytime! Thanks for all the great experience!
I found all staff at this car centre exceptional, very friendly and helpful, especially Prince, he made the experience of buyer a car exceptional from start to finish. Highly recommend this dealership.
Liars cars are should even have mots there that bad tell you deposit is refundable another lie don't trust anything about this firm shocking
