Being a girl I thought buying from a garage would be less risky than buying privately. Initially I was looking for a small car and chose a Mini Copper that Gaston Gate was selling. I was promised a few bits of work would be carried out, new car aerial, the seat belt was sticking and a mark on the car bonnet would be polished out. The car was sold with a service however after returning 51 miles to collect the car I was told to go for lunch and they would get it done, after some hours i returned, the car wasn’t ready so left empty handed again. After some WEEKS of calling about the car to find out the status, after being told they would keep me updates & never calling me & taking payment, making me feel like I had been ripped off, I was finally able to collect the car. Another 50 mile trip to find none of what was promised to be carried out. After driving just a few miles on my return trip home the car was clearly not driving right and making a strange noise. Back to the garage and I left empty handed AGAIN. It was some time before the car was again ready to be collected. The car still wasn’t right and at this point I should have told the garage I didn’t want the car but as i had now been without for some time I was desperate to get my life back to normal (single mum of 3 and being the summer holidays). I had the car for 8 weeks before the engine cut out and it wouldn’t start again. The amazing warranty the car was sold with wouldn’t cover it and the garage were refusing to take the car back and carry out the work. I had to seek legal advise who all told me the work is the responsibility of the garage to complete. After many legal letters and being reported to trading standards they eventually agreed to carry out the work. Again I was told I would be updated, but had to call to find anything out and dealt with a very hostile Mark. Ryan was a bit more helpful but even he said Mark the owner would make promises he was unable to keep. Weeks again without a car, it was returned and was used for around 6 months before it dying on me. I’ve been told by a local garage that the car I have brought will cost more to fix than the 4.3K I brought it for and recommend I scrap it. This garage has lost me thousands and many sleepless nights. A lesson learnt from me and however difficult it now is to try and afford a new car, I’m happy I’ll never have to deal with this company again. Never trust a garage that doesn’t allow reviews on their own private website.

Well stablished and run garage, who care about their customers. Ryan and his skilful team know how to respect you and care about your car with honesty and integrity. I bought a car from them at a very fair price and they look after it too.... highly recommend for peace of mind when shopping for a quality used car.
We recently brought a 1.4 Polo Volkswagen from this garage and the service was very professional and relaxed. The car was ready to be test driven and there was no pressure on us to buy the car. The necessary paperwork was handled in a very efficient and helpful manner. Happy to recommend this garage.
Ryan and his team at Gaston Gate Garage made the whole experience of buying a car enjoyable and at no time felt pressured. The cars are well presented and the car I bought was worth every penny and has never let me down. Thank goodness we still have family business,s like this, I will be back to buy a pickup as they looked great quality and condition.

Bought a C220 W204 just been a month firstly water leak out of pump then entered limp mode spent £250 on replacing sensors and now yesterday's it went into limp mode again and was told the dpf or turbo could be gone. Rang them first time regarding water leak as it was a easy fix and got it done free by my mechanic, but now all these other problems has popped up, tell you truth not even going to bother with them as it's shocking how a garage can sell cars like these and how zuto has them on there trusted garage list the word trust is a big understatement for this garage and it's cars.

Well like you have clearly said in your review you did not bother to call us so how can we help you.
Excellent Dealership. Very fair Part-ex prices & their cars are keenly priced too. My new car (second hand) went wrong after a short period but not a problem Gaston Gate were their to assist. The fault was rectified within 1 day & my car returned to me. Not many Dealer out their like this one!
I went a long distance to see a good priced Mazda 3 test drove but handling too light with no feel. Then, I found a black Golf GTI, test drove and decided to buy. My mistake: I should have gone home, found out market price and then negotiated but agreed too much for car with my Fiesta trade-in and paid deposit. Arranged to pick up car days later after work when I was nearer then poor experience started. I got two miles down road and petrol light came on - thimble of petrol in car. (cheapskates). I was in dark in unknown, rural area - found petrol station via satnav. Had to look up petrol cap and found they had given me a Touran manual not a Golf. No Service history either apart from a few recent receipts and some worrying MOT advisories. Back end squealed a bit but drove home. I took to trusted local garage who immediately said binding calipers. I found the 3 month warranty provided was useless (I rang insurance company) and exempted just about anything. (Ryan told me you can get things fixed at your local garage and then claim.) I emailed Gaston Gate a few times politely about issues. I did get a reply that advisories had been fixed. Also, no license tax receipt because no email address was entered. I did after two weeks get a patronising phone 'lecture' from his dad,Mark. The bindings seemed to free and so I drove for many months until MOT just now and had to pay for both sides calipers + pads. (approx £340)

We dont pressure anyone in to buying cars so if you feel the car was over priced then why did you buy it. we dont put loads of fuel in cars granted but the light was not on and even when it does come on you have atleast 20-30 miles range on any car sometimes more.If the brakes were faulty we would have changed them for free regardless what the warranty company said if they were not at fault for a while and then became a probem later that is not my fault i cant predict when things will go wrong. if the handbook was wrong im sorry but if you dont let me know how can i put it right. and final little point to clear matters up mark is not my dad he is my boss.
Bought a Nissan Qashqai from Gaston Gate Garage who are based in Cranleigh, Surrey. My daughter who has been abroad for some time found the car on the web and asked me to look at it . I was shown round the car by Mark Shoesmith who I believe owns the facility, there was no hassle, no pressure. I agreed to buy the vehicle and Mark agreed to prepare it for collection in 2 days. The vehicle was in first class condition but he insisted on a full service, a new MOT and a thorough valeting before delivery. I live a 45 minute drive from his garage and had a problem picking the car up so he delivered the car to my door in person at no cost. Further to this he ran through the paperwork and finally handed over a 6 month warranty certificate. In my view he went above and beyond the call of duty for a 7 year old vehicle that did not cost a fortune, he genuinely wants to please his customers so I have no hesitation in recommending his garage to a future buyer and rest assured I would buy another vehicle from Gaston Gate Garage. It's all about trust when sourcing a used vehicle and he has my trust.
When I call to the Gaston Gate Garage and asked if there are any issues on BMW what I was interested in the manager said the car is in excellent condition and the company guarantee of having the best condition cars. I decided to see the vehicle. It took me over an hour to get there and found “my” car in horrible condition; left door mirror was broken, a lot of scratches on bodywork and some big paint mark on back seat. Waste of time and petrol. AVOID THIS PLACE!!!
