"*BUYER BEWARE* Sold faulty BMW"

FULL REVIEW: https://share.google/nOEIjp8b2rBFUEgY8 *BUYER BEWARE* Still waiting 18+ months for a refund on faulty car ruled by the Motor Ombudsman (see ruling below). UPDATE:6.10.25 - Sold faulty BMW. Case raised with Motor Ombudsman and ruled in favour for full refund. Goldstone have NOT cooperated. The case has now escalated and Ombudsman to remove the dealership from association, failing compliance. I purchased a BMW in January 2024. Within 4 months it experienced 2 big faults. Goldstone rectified the first fault themselves (no heating) over a month after reporting it (this was done after having me take it to a specialist and incurring a diagnostic fee which was not reimbursed). The car was then returned to me with the reverse camera disconnected. The second fault was reported in April 2024, only 3 months later. This was a ticking noise from the engine (suspected engine knocking). As such I was forced to SORN the vehicle and cease driving it. When I purchased the car, I decided to procure a third party warranty at my own cost. So naturally I contacted them first. They inspected the vehicle and determined that it was a pre-existing fault and advised me to contact the dealership. When contacting Goldstone, they completely refused to resolve the issue, even though I am entitled to a repair or refund under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, having purchased the car within 6 months of the fault. So, I have been forced to take the matter to the Motor Ombudsman. After almost a year of ongoing investigation, the Motor Ombudsman reviewed the evidence and determined the vehicle to be of an unsatisfactory quality at time of purchase. They awarded me the right to reject the car for a refund (see below). However, Goldstone did not respond to the decision. Despite numerous contact attempts by the adjudicator, Goldstone have not responded. As such the case has been escalated by the Motor Ombudsman to Final Decision. This whole ordeal has been extremely disheartening as it started off really well. The staff seemed really genuine and nice, however, I now wholeheartedly regret purchasing a car from this dealership. As a result of thier failure to rectify the issue, the car has been sat idle in the driveway since April 2024 (see below). This is very disappointing as I spent money upgrading the vehicle exterior soon after purchase, which has gone to complete waste. I have also had to purchase a replacement vehicle which has been costly and stressful. PLEASE do read the negative reviews before making the decision to proceed with a purchase, as I do not want anyone else to live this experience. I work in the automotive industry for a premium OEM and would strongly advise that those spending a lot of money a premium car to go direct. It isn't worth the risk! I really hope the dealership co-operate in resolving the issue which has been dragging on unnecessarily.

I purchased my Audi a6 on the 16th of September I couldn’t have been happier with it, exactly what was described. On they way home from picking the car up a light came on the dashboard (Audi adaptive light system fault ) I took a picture on my next stop and sent it straight over to the dealership. He replied asking if I can get it plugged into a diagnostic machine and what ever it is he will sort it out for me 👍🏻 I got the diagnostic carried out and sent it straight over on the 19th of September, I’m still waiting for him to reply. It’s been five months I have owned the car now and a gearbox malfunction as came up on the dash now. I have once again try to contact the dealership asking for some help with my vehicle with it still been under the statutory 6 month warranty that ever dealership gives out and have been left in the dark again.

Asked for more information and more in depth pictures of a vehicle for sale and was just ignored! Not sure how they sell cars with type of attitude.

I live on the Isle of Wight and had the car delivered to Southampton. Delivery was without a hitch unlike my bank who decided I couldn’t spend my own money! imran was great and eventually I was allowed to have access to my funds. I trust this garage 100% and wouldn’t hesitate in buying from Goldstone cars again.

I brought a Škoda VRS earlier this year. A very clean car at a very good price. It was in exceptional condition with a full service history. We’d only had it three and a half weeks and it suffered a rather large mechanical failure. It wasn’t a pre-existing fault, nobody could’ve known it was going to happen. After a bit of research I found out it was an inherent fault with that particular engine. I have 16 years experience in the motor trade myself and I certainly didn’t pick up on anything when I brought it. I called Goldstone and they didn’t question it, they had the car picked and had it repaired to a very high standard with regular updates. They really have been brilliant every step of the way. I certainly wouldn’t hesitate to buy a car from them again!

I finally could afford the car of my dreams and couldn’t asked for a better one! The two guys at Goldstone Cars were a great help and answered all of my questions. Great service and even took me in the Rolls Royce for a spin. Thanks guys

The guys at Goldstone Cars didn't seem to keen to help, they just wanted to sell the car. The Ford I bought wasn't clean and had its issues but as a whole hasn't been too bad. Wouldn't recommend though.
