Will Hutchins from Harpenden Van Fleet Sales in response to Poor service

It’s interesting you conveniently leave out the dates and decide to publicly complain when we refused to pay for the windscreen repair you wanted doing (£114) 9 months later and 6 months out of warranty!! I would like to remind you of the diary of events : 1) You picked up the vehicle in May all the way from Northern Scotland presumably because you couldn’t find a better deal anywhere else. 2) The tyres were not illegal but we accepted they were low and instead of asking you to bring the van back (which is the law) we paid for new tyres to be fitted locally (Caithness Tyres) 3) After returning home a few days later you emailed us 20th May stating “The weather has been dry since I came home last week but I've come out of my house this morning to find the van soaked and materials ruined”, implying water was in the back and not the windscreen and definitely not leaking on the way home as you said ! You told us that some grommets were missing from a previous roof rack, we apologised for the oversight and sent new grommets to you rather than you return the vehicle for us to fix! 4) 9 Months later (3 months warranty) you discover the windscreen is letting in water through the seal and you expected us to pay for it and claimed it was related to the grommet issue which of course cannot be! 5) Fleet Sales is the company name and Harpenden Vans is a trading style as we have always been situated in Harpenden. Definitely nothing to hide!! The above clearly demonstrates we do care and when we do make mistakes we do our utmost not to inconvenience customers wherever they live. It also demonstrates our trust in customers is second to none but sadly we can’t please everyone all the time. It is very unusual for us to have bad reviews however when we do we can demonstrate that we are honest and straightforward that people have been dealing us for 26 years!

Below is the response I sent after receiving your complaint: "Matt, as explained if you send back the two speeding tickets along with a copy of your invoice to us the fines will be sent to us and there is no come back to you. We took your vehicle in part exchange and had paid for it so therefore we owned the vehicle. We do not hire our vehicles but loan them free of charge on occasion, when a customer is waiting for their new vehicle to arrive. We have been in business for over 23 years, providing a professional, customer focused service where we will go the extra mile to make a difference but also understand that sometimes we can't please everyone"
